I just passed $800,000 earned on Upwork!! 💚
Here are 5 tips that helped me get here: 👇
1. Learn a high-paying skill set
When I started learning SQL after college, it wasn't a random decision. I researched the highest-paying tech skills and chose the one that I enjoyed learning/doing most.
2. Build a portfolio
The two most important parts of your Upwork profile are your client reviews and examples of your work. When creating your profile, be sure to add at least 3-5 examples of your work.
3. Create a winning profile
When a client is browsing through search results, you only have a few seconds to grab their attention. If they don't click on you, you don't win any jobs or make any money.
👉 Put A LOT of time/work into your headshot, title, and description
4. Write attractive cover letters
The first 1-2 sentences of your cover letter are what the client sees first...make them “pop“. Give a direct example of your work that relates 100% to the clients' project/needs.
👉 Always request an intro call to discuss the project
5. Never give up
So many people give up before they even get started. It took me around 3 months to win my first Upwork job. However, the more jobs you complete successfully, the more you get noticed and the more jobs you get invited to.
👉 Upwork is a marathon, not a sprint
