“In 1976, Shavarsh Karapetyan, an Armenian Olympic swimmer, had just completed a 12-mile run with his brother when they saw a trolley bus crash into a dam reservoir. The trolley bus sank 80 feet offshore at a depth of 33 feet.

Shavarsh immediately dove in and swam to the bus and despite zero visibility, managed to kick in the back window, injuring himself in the process. He proceeded to save twenty people trapped in the bus, one at a time, for hours.

The combined effect of the cold water and his inquiries from breaking the glass window led to his hospitalization for 45 days after the incident, during which time he developed pneumonia, sepsis, and lung damage which ended his athletic career.

For years, his story wasn't known, until an article about the event identified him by name in 1982. In 1985, he happened to pass by a burning building and rushed inside, again saving people trapped inside one at a time until he collapsed. He was again hospitalized with severe burns and lung damage.

He's still kicking it at 66. Just an awesome person I learned about today and thought I'd share.”

“Yesterday I went from celebrating an 11-year-old boys birthday party with my brothers and sisters at work to responding to the absolutely tragic death of two babies. This is the other side. The raw side that nobody talks about.

The side everyone who isn’t in law enforcement doesn’t realize happens to us... but believe it or not, we grieve too.

We are humans.

You just don’t know because once we leave that terrible, heart wrenching call, we come to you and there are no tears or anger from the last call we were at.

We’re just there to take care of you. I simply ‘file it away’ as I tell people that ask, ‘How do you deal with the things you’ve seen?’

This picture was taken a few hours into my shift today and you guessed it, I had to wipe those tears up and go to the next call.

I wholeheartedly understand I’m not the only person affected by this, and there are so many people, family included, who this affects more than me - I understand that and I am not trying to take anything away from anyone at all.

It’s simply on my heart to share this tonight.

I know with what’s going on in our world right now it won’t accomplish much, but I just pray you have mercy on all of us.

We are all fighting a battle that you can’t see just by looking at us.

We take this uniform off every night and we crawl into bed and have to learn how to process the grief, just like any other human being.

To my brothers and sisters who are battling it too, thank you for not giving up and I am always here to listen.”

You never know what someone is going through. Don’t judge a book by its cover, or a person by his or her uniform. We’re all human. 💙

I turned down a $60,000 deal.

He demanded that I be available on the weekends.

But I had promised to spend the weekends with my fiancé and our son.

And no amount of money can change that.

”I’m sorry, but I have family plans that I can’t break.”

He said I was crazy to choose time over money.

”You’ll regret this when we give all our money to your competitor.”

I cautioned him, “I hope that works out for you, but respectfully, I’m pretty sure you’ll be the one who regrets that.”

We have no competitors.

We have alternatives.

They can’t do what we do.

Not even close.

And I will never regret putting my family first.

Never.

The best part is...

I talked to another big prospect week later—

The guy was a family man.

He respected my weekend boundaries.

And said he was the same way.

”No, YOU don’t contact ME on the weekends” he laughed.

As we joked about the previous prospect’s demands—

Who was still struggling to get results.

Some people are a good fit,
Others aren’t.
And that’s okay.

Trust your gut.

We bonded over being family first.

And he signed the deal during our first conversation.

I can always make more money—

But I can never turn back the hands of time.

Prioritizing our time is the best decision we can ever make.

Respect yourself, put your family first, and everything will be fine.
Officers responded to the Bank of America in Montebello regarding a patron who was causing a disturbance.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they discovered that a 92-year-old man was trying to withdraw money from his account, however, his California identification card was expired.

Per the bank's policy, because his identification card was expired, they were unable to fulfill his request.

The gentleman was upset and the police were called.

Once officers arrived, Officer Robert Josett decided to take the man to the DMV in town to help him renew his identification card.

With the assistance of the DMV, his identification card was renewed and he was taken back to the bank at which time he was able to withdraw money from his account.

He thanked Officer Josett and went on his way.

Her sister has been gone for 6 months and their grandma had no idea that she came back early. Watch their grandma’s reaction, priceless.
