This is 36. 🎂

Today, I’d like to tell you a short story.

👇

I was talking to my dad a couple of years ago about aging. Here’s what he said:

“I remember my teens and 20’s. I thought those were the best years of my life.

Then I reached my 30’s, then my 40’s. Turns out, those were the best years of my life.

I was really scared to turn 50. Then, my 50’s were the best years of my life.

Now I’m in my 60’s. I may have slowed down a little bit—but these are the best years of my life.”

I will always remember his words.

So many of us fear aging. After a certain birthday, we dread every new year. We fib about our age. We refuse to celebrate.

We are blind to the beauty of aging, and the sense of calm and confidence that comes with getting older.

Every new decade, every new year, every new month, every new week, every new day—they can all be the best of your life.

If you’re committed to making it so.

Thank you for celebrating with me. ❤️

Entrepreneurship is NOT as sexy as you think it is.

Here are 5 things I wish someone told me before I became a CEO 👇

1. You’re going to carry an incredible weight. So make sure you do it for the right reasons

2. It’s okay to ask for help. Practice makes perfect. I still struggle here.

3. Hire carefully and fire fast. People will make or break your company.

4. You need a coach and/or mentor(s). There are a lot of people that did this before you.

5. It gets easier but it is never easy. When you master one skill, the next challenge appears.

What would you add as #6? 👇

Safer at home is giving us a unique opportunity to spend TONS of time with our kids.

On one hand, I'm loving playing more games, dancing, screwing around and eating more meals together.

But let’s face it: trying to work with kids at home is not fun. 🤦‍♀️

I have two 9 year olds and a 13 year old in a condo where my workspace is in the kitchen.

It’s not very private.

And I SWEAR the only time they need me is the minute I get on a call.

No amount of scheduling, instructions, virtual learning plans, begging or pleading has helped thus far.

So… why not have fun with it. 🤣

Here’s what working at home with kids *really* looks like. ⬇️
