This is 36. 🎂
Today, I’d like to tell you a short story.
👇
I was talking to my dad a couple of years ago about aging. Here’s what he said:
“I remember my teens and 20’s. I thought those were the best years of my life.
Then I reached my 30’s, then my 40’s. Turns out, those were the best years of my life.
I was really scared to turn 50. Then, my 50’s were the best years of my life.
Now I’m in my 60’s. I may have slowed down a little bit—but these are the best years of my life.”
I will always remember his words.
So many of us fear aging. After a certain birthday, we dread every new year. We fib about our age. We refuse to celebrate.
We are blind to the beauty of aging, and the sense of calm and confidence that comes with getting older.
Every new decade, every new year, every new month, every new week, every new day—they can all be the best of your life.
If you’re committed to making it so.
Thank you for celebrating with me. ❤️
