Look, I get it. There's always bigger fish to fry.

But don't delay your LinkedIn, please...

This is year 17 for me in the online business world. Just on LinkedIn, I've trained 57,000+ people, whether in workshops, keynotes or 1-1.

So believe me when I tell you:

Most people use LinkedIn only when they "need" LinkedIn. To find a new job. They fish here for a few weeks. Apply apply apply... Until they "need" it again.

It's a cycle with no end.

These waters aren't made for a quick dip.
They're for those willing to go on a journey.
And the ship most definitely has NOT sailed.

There's still time to start (and enjoy) your journey.

Are you onboard? 😊

Monday Motivation, over. (Repost for others ♻️)

- Coach J ❤️

P.S. I did not eat this alone. (before you ask)
People overcomplicate LinkedIn. Too much.

I don't care how many followers you have.

If your post is good, I'll like and comment.

I don't care about your country or name.

Or if you're a direct competitor of mine.

If you "show up" in my LinkedIn feed...

(and you actually write good content)

I want my network to see you. "Like".

It's that simple to support others. ❤️

Cheers, y'all! (Go support someone)
You want to show up as an "expert" on LinkedIn?

But you never show your "human" side?

You're missing out.

A LOT of what I do on LinkedIn is cracking burger jokes in the comments, having fun with other CEOs, business owners, founders, millionaires..

And guess the first thing we do when we finally meet in person? Or when we get on a call?

We get burgers together! Or we continue joking!

At the end of the day, we're all humans.

Humans who love to laugh.
Humans longing for connection.
Humans who are tired of work 24/7.

Please...

Enough talk about synergies, circling back, and low-hanging fruit (whatever the hegg that means).

And more focus on GENUINE human connections.

This is what builds your brand...

AND your business! 😊

(both are important)

Now, bon appétit!

P.S. Photo is from Cyprus. ❤️ This year, I'm already planning trips to the UK, India, Malta, Singapore, Australia, Slovakia, USA... Burgers, anyone?
This is my "Mama, I made it" post.

I just hosted folks from 19 countries at home.

Wait, what?! So...

1. I run a paid community = Link Up. Best in the biz!

2. I awarded TWO of my members with a paid flight to Bosnia, hotel, and in-person coaching.

3. I hosted our 3rd global meetup. 70 attendees! 22 nationalities in 1 room.

4. People cried.

5. The next day, I hosted a private VIP dinner for 40 of us with the most exclusive food in the city.

"Jasmin, you rented out the entire building?"

Yes.

6. I hosted panels with my members so the focus was on THEM, not me. For some, it was the first time on stage.

7. I barely slept.

8. I finally revealed the name of the person who pushed me into LinkedIn coaching (Thank you, Bridgett)

9. We had a group therapy session (not kidding)

10. The word "surreal" was mentioned 672 times.

This... is what dreams are made of.

Monday Motivation, over.

Love you all! ❤️

P.S. This is not my last post on this topic.

P.P.S. Today, I'm taking my members to my summer home in the mountains for some BBQ by Chef Jasmin! Anyone else wants to bring a plate? 🍔
I owe my LinkedIn followers this post.

If you read til the end, thank you. ❤️

Every year, I receive around 100,000 new followers. This means many of you are "new to me". So this...

This is my re-introduction. My CV:

(some of these things, I've never shared publicly)

1. I'm a proud father. Just 2 dudes against the world.

(this always comes first 👌)

2. I was born and raised (and still living) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They even made me an official ambassador and I now hold a diplomatic passport.

(Life goals = check 🙌)

3. I wanted to be an artist. Like, arts academy. Instead, I earned a full scholarship to a prestige private (international) university. Majored in English.

(Honor roll student too 🎓)

4. Most people don't believe I'm a Bosnian (because of my accent). Detroit is usually where they pin me at.

(Thank you, Eminem 🙏)

6. My full name is pronounced as "Yah-ss-meen", not "Jazz-minn". And "A-leech", not "Ah-leck".

(you practiced it just now, didn't you? 🤔)

7. I was a teacher at every level. Did my praxis at a kindergarten. Then taught at middle and high school. Later became a university professor. Won 200+ medals and awards internationally with my students.

(taught English, German, and later... copywriting ✍️)

8. I used to be a rapper. Got 6 albums behind me. Charted on MTV. Participated in X-Factor. Yes, I was an "influencer" way before LinkedIn.

(I also rap really fast 🎤)

9. I don't know how to ride a bike. (random fun fact)

10. This is year 17 for me in the online space. I started writing online to help my parents fund my stay in a different city during university. Later went full time.

(later also retired my parents ❤️)

11. I run several businesses online. Coaching. Community. Speaking. The list goes on...

The list of career highlights is cool:

- Ranked #1 LinkedIn creator globally
- Coached the #1 UK and APAC creators
- Featured in Forbes, The Financial Times...
- Ranked "Best Speaker" at over 30+ events
- Sold out my Link Up community before day 1
- World's "most profitable" community, Nov 2025
- Received the "Man of the Year" award in late 2025

12. I never share my earnings publicly. (ever)

Fun fact: "jasmin alic net worth" is the 3rd most searched phrase next to my name. 😂

13. My coolest skill: Design and visual thinking. I do all of my design work - and for my clients too. At this point, thousands of visual assets designed.

14. My most useless skill: Being able to quote all 9 seasons of Suits. Any episode. Any character. Feel free to test me on this - I stand behind it.

14. Favorite food? Burgers.

15. Least favorite? Onions. Garlic. Balsamic.

16. Favorite quote? "Givers get". Forever true. 😍

17. Main goal in life? For my knowledge to outlive me. To enable millions to help billions. To spread kindness and good vibes wherever I can. Life is short.

Thanks for reading! ❤️

I spent 4 hours on a LinkedIn Live last night.

That's longer than most paid courses. Why?

1. Because I genuinely care about my community ❤️
2. Because I finally had a call with LinkedIn support
3. Because I have many LinkedIn updates to share
4. Because my Link Up community is leveling up!
5. Because I love teaching; coaching even more!
6. Because sales were going well... so why not?
7. Because sales wer... wait, I already said that.

~6,000 comments were exchanged on the call!

A few updates - straight from the source:

1. "Any and all extensions are forbidden" 🤯
2. LinkedIn does not want to explain "reach"
3. Mass views of profiles can get you restricted
4. Mass DM sends (copy-pasting messages) too
5. There is NO "daily" comment limit (it is a myth)
6. They look for "behavior patterns" in commenting
7. They started a new "effort" for engagement pods.

Some of these are worrying. Most are good.

Either way, hope I can keep being a guide to all of us.

Monday Motiv... Happy LinkedIn-ing, friends. 👋

P.S. Which news above are you excited for?

If I had to rebuild my LinkedIn from scratch...

These are 17 things I would do EVERY DAY:

(You might want to Save this one first ♻️)

 1. Write 2-5 new posts → 99% will not be published
 2. Spend 15 mins writing comments in the morning.
 3. Send 3 appreciation DMs to my fav commenters
 4. Analyze my analytics → especially profile views
 5. Send 3 connection requests to relevant people
 6. Send 3 DMs to prospects I'd like to coach 1-1
 7. Obsess over my hook for the post I'll publish.
 8. If it's an image post, write ALT text for photo
 9. Dedicate 1 full hour to commenting (replies)
10. Prepare 3-5 pinned comments for my post
11. Repost my post 6-8 hours after publishing
12. Check my post's analytics in the evening.
13. Check who's viewed my Link Up website
14. Check whom I can convert to a member
15. Spend any extra time in the comments.
16. Check that day's connection requests.
17. Support small creators in the feed. ❤️

17 daily habits → Zero chance you'll fail.

Repost for others if it's useful. Thanks!

P.S. Which of these are your top 3? 😊
"I want you to meet my parents."

I didn't text this to a girl. But to my team.

Last week, I took a few of my Link Up community members deep in the Bosnian mountains, where I own a small summer home and garden.

And I cooked barbecue for everyone!

But then...

My mom and dad made so many authentic Bosnian foods to combine with the BBQ. Every bit of veggie and fruit on that table was from my garden. Home-grown.

(As I write this, I think "This post is SO NOT LinkedIn")

No corporate gifts.
No fancy offsite retreat.
No motivational leadership quote.

Just unique experiences and fantastic food.

I believe this is the essence of GOOD "team building".

If you're a founder or solopreneur currently scaling your team, my message to you is this:

Treat your team well.

And feed them well.

They'll love you. ❤️

(Or invite me personally to grill some meat. You won't regret it. You can pay me in burgers.)

Greetings from Bosnia, everyone! 👋

P.S. Is this considered good "leadership"? :)

Today, I turn 34. Here's 34 lessons th... No.

This post here is a thank you. ❤️

1. To every single one of you who've shown up for me over the years. (I owe a lot of my success to you)

2. To my amazing Link Up community, who made me cry last night with a video message. (yes, I cried)

3. To every client, brand, and app founder who sent gifts to my doorstep. (post office was working overtime)

4. To everyone in my inner circle who called my phone and sang happy birthday. (you know who you are)

5. To everyone who abandoned me last year.

I always say "Givers get".

But today... everyone is "giving" me something. I'm so blessed to have a built a career where the simplest interactions turn into relationships. Grateful.

I hope this type of career finds YOU too.

Good luck, friends!

- Coach J 🎂

P.S. LinkedIn reached out to me too. News soon.

16 years ago, I happy-danced to a $8/hr salary.

This year, I flew 7 people across the globe.

This is a story of "Bosnia to the world".

(and it only has 3 parts, I promise)

1. Nobody else does this.

I literally mean "nobody". A big selling point in my Link Up community is that I reward 1 member each quarter with a paid trip to Bosnia. Plus in-person coaching!

2. I'm doing this alone.

No sponsorships. No political involvement. No tourism agencies. Nada. Just me trying to bring people to my home country. And bring my community together.

3. The ROI is always positive.

No matter how much money I "spend" on airline tickets, hotels, renting our restaurants, venues etc. I always get MORE new members that 10x whatever I spent.

For me, Link Up isn't JUST a community.

It's my way of opening myself to the world. And doing whatever is necessary to put Bosnia on the map. 🇧🇦

Make no mistake...

This business earns me good money. But...

Money only matters if you use it. And use it well.

Greetings from Bosnia, everyone!

- Coach J ❤️

P.S. These 2 ladies are my latest winners. Angela Marie from Oregon, USA and Ratna from Singapore.

P.P.S. Should I drop our Bosnia vlog tomorrow? 😊
I have a "zero leash" policy for negativity.

On LinkedIn, it's a dogfight. So if you...

Insult me in a comment? Block.
Insult others in my comments? Block.
Call something a "lie" just because? Block.
You can't accept that you are wrong? Block.
Spew fake accusations with zero proof? Block.
Agree with the same people above? Block too.
Like 20 comments in a row on my post? Bim.
Ask daft, super-ragebait questions? Bam.
Spam your links in my comments? Bop.
Pitch 3 seconds into a DM? Yep.

"Protect your energy, no matter what."

This means eliminating any negativity from my feed. From my business. And every inch of my life.

Zero regrets. ❤️

P.S. Sorry for the downer post. Had to be said.

P.P.S. This is not my dog. But the pink is cute, eh?

I love proving others wrong. It fuels me.

Every year of my life, I was the underdog.

1. When I graduated high school, I couldn't afford a fancy uni. So I got 1st place in the country and won the only 100% scholarship for the next 4 years.

(graduated with honors)

2. When I started freelancing 16 years ago, I had an asterisk next to my name because of my nationality. Location. Pricing. You name it. I had to work 20x as hard as any Westerner. And I did. No excuses.

(started at $8/hour, now $10K/workshop)

3. When I landed Microsoft, Digicel, and Marriott as clients, they kept saying it was luck. But THEY reached out to me because of my results and reputation.

(Upwork's top 1% freelancer in the world)

4. When I first got on LinkedIn and my headline was "Award-winning educator and copywriter", I immediately attracted some haters. They thought it was a lie.

(I had a career way before LinkedIn, bruh)

5. When I coached my first 100 clients, it was - again - "a lie". But then 200? 300? They shut their beaks up real quick. My Link Up is where it is FOR A REASON!

(my community sold out before day 1)

6. When I first got ranked No. 1 on Favikon all those years back, of course not everyone could swallow that It wasn't a US person. I was a foreigner.

(proud Bosnian)

7. When I said I "never sell in my content", they said it was an excuse because I didn't know how to. Touché. 😉

(you can do better than that, I'm sure)

Bonus:

When they tag me in their Linky rants hoping to get some traction off my name. Just stop, dear. We're not in the same league. We don't even play the same sport.

---

This was my underdog story.

Thanks for reading, you.

With kindness,

J ✌️

P.S. Ever been treated as the underdog?

P.P.S. No filter today. Happy weekend ahead! ❤️
Confession: I love motivational posts on LinkedIn.

Because I quit 2 years in a row when I started.

Yes, I actually quit LinkedIn twice in the past.

I wish someone told me back then:

1. "Your last post got zero likes. Cool, this is normal."
2. "You're focused on too many of the wrong things"
3. "You'll have slow months and then good months"

Maybe I'd have had more energy to:

1. Keep writing new posts, despite lower reach
2. Be confident I can sign new clients, any month
3. Log in to this platform day in and out with a smile

Who knows...

Maybe this post will change someone's life.
Maybe this post will prevent YOU from quitting.
Maybe this post is written for the old ME... not you.

I don't know...

But I do know that I love a good motivational post.

Lord knows there's way too much negativity in the feed and people bashing each other all the time, turning every little strategy into a pi**ing contest.

Let's make LinkedIn a better place. For everyone.

Thank you. ❤️

Monday Motivation, over. (Repost further ♻️)

P.S. Do you love motivational posts too? (not billboard quotes, to heck with those)
We all got an appetite for different things, right?

So think of your LinkedIn feed as your "diet".

If it doesn't taste good, ditch it = unfollow
If it tastes good, fill up the plate = follow
If it causes a negative reaction = block
If it tastes super good, get more = 🔔

Stop complaining that it tastes bad.
Start optimizing your daily habits.

Your FEED is what you FEED it.
Bon appetite, LinkedIn buds!

Rate your feed. Mine's 7/10.

P.S. Ask me anything too!

This is my last LinkedIn post of 2025.

So much to be grateful for. My top 10:

1. This year, my Link Up community grew leaps and bounds. We've even been ranked the most profitable community in the world during anniversary week.

2. This year, I received the Man of the Year award. It's so much more than just a shiny gold trophy for me! It's a tribute to my parents and the man they made me.

3. This year, I traveled the globe and met HUNDREDS of my clients, community members, and team members. My passport is a coloring book!

4. This year, I met my online mentor of 10+ years, Chris Do, in person. We recorded a podcast worth gold.

5. This year, I was invited to the LinkedIn headquarters and had a private meeting with them about the future of the platform. Thanks for trusting me with that!

6. This year, I became a LinkedIn Learning Instructor. The first-ever Bosnian to do so. I collaborated with the one and only Shadé Zahrai on this.

7. This year, I've actually done the most keynotes and workshops I've ever done in 365 days.

8. This year, I've taken more time off than ever else in my career. Heck, in my entire life! Rest and off-days have become my favorite productivity hacks.

9. This year, I flew all of my team to Bosnia. All expenses paid. Might do it again next year. (with a bigger team)

10. And just this week, much to my surprise, I also received the di... ok I'll leave this one for January.

See you next year! ❤️

Thanks for all of your support. Genuinely grateful!

P.S. Back on Jan 5. Get ready for something special.

Apparently, LinkedIn can't figure out I'm real. 💔

1. I was restricted 5 times this year. Logged out of my profile due to "suspicion of automated activity".

(There was NO automated activity)

2. A recent post got locked because I had a 52% engagement rate in the first 15 minutes. Bro, how can I even control people reacting to a post?!

3. I must be triggering all the "false positives" in the algorithm, as Jeremy from Favikon told me. It's just "unheard of" to get this level of engagement.

Sorry, but...

LinkedIn and Ryan Roslansky, what in the world do you want me to do?

Serious question.

I don't use automations.
I don't have virtual assistants.
I write all of my content manually.
I write every single comment myself.
I send all my DMs and connects manually.
I'm the only person with access to my profile.
I have precisely 0 tools connected to my profile.
I have precisely 0 extensions installed for LinkedIn.

So tell me...

How much more REAL do you need me to be?

I will NOT stay silent anymore!!!

My 2 cents:

(And my offer to fix this at the end of this post)

1. This issue is showing your incompetence. 1000s of users are going through this; not just me.

Please explain your restriction policies transparently.

2. You ask ME for information about my restriction. How would I know? Each of the 5 times, I wasn't even online!

YOU should be the one giving ME the information. 🤦‍♂️

3. You have access to everyone's data and activity. And you can easily see which tools are connected. So why pretend like you don't? Which brings me to:

If you see someone uses ZERO automation tools, how can you even restrict them for automation?

4. Your Support ticket system doesn't work. Period.

To top it all off, you told me I "reached the maximum number of verification attempts". What even is that?!

5. You are putting people's livelihoods at risk. Because you've pushed users for years to buy Premium, use LinkedIn for business, and then... what, shut 'em down?

Here's my offer:

Dear LinkedIn team,

As one of the more prominent creators on your platform, I feel obligated to address this. Book me a meeting with your team (in charge of this issue) and I will book a flight to either your New York or Sunnyvale headquarters in the next 48 hours. I will spend as much (unpaid) time as needed to help you figure this out. I will use my own money to fund this. I want to do more for your users than you are doing right now. Get me that meeting. I'm looking at flights right now. I MEAN THIS 1000%.

I've looked at legal counsel on this matter too.

I'm happy to involve lawyers in our conversations moving forward. By all means.

This... NEEDS to be fixed once and for all.

Not just for me. For everyone.

Enough is enough.

Thank you.

Here's what I learned at LinkedIn Headquarters!

(including stuff about the new algo)

 1. They have the best fries I've tried in NYC
 2. They have logos in different colors on every floor
 3. Nobody knows how the Linky algorithm works
 4. The Empire State Building entrance is massive
 5. Not a single soul mentioned "video" to me
 6. They got cool mugs (that you can't "take home")
 7. They got cool pillows (that you can't "take home")
 8. Nobody knows how the Top Voice badge is given
 9. Not one person used the word "AI" with me
10. They said I was "welcome back anytime"

Learned something new? I did too!

Which is that there's so much advice floating out there that isn't verified, not even by LinkedIn employees.

Please pick your coach wisely. 😉

Now, let me sip my coffee... 👀

P.S. Did this post make you smile? Cheers! ♻️

Imagine bringing 70 "strangers" to your home.

Well, here's my 7-minute video about it.

(Pro tip: Save this video to watch later)

I'm sure by now you've seen one of the 100s of posts about my recent Link Up meetup in Bosnia. If not from others in your feed, then on my wall.

This video here pulls you in closer:

1. Experience the vibes from our in-person event
2. See how we "hang out" away from screens
3. People speaking on stage for the 1st time
4. Strangers embracing each other 100%
5. Beautiful sights from all over Bosnia
6. Smiles, conversations and support
7. Community being a "community"

Bonus: See me rapping 😎

Ladies and gents, the 3rd Link Up global meetup in my home country, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Enjoy!

(Repost this one → Would mean a lot ♻️❤️)

P.S. I'll surprise ONE person who reposts the video with my 1-year membership. Good luck to all of you!

P.P.S. Watched the video? Your favorite moment?
Just landed in Dubai! With a message:

Not every post needs to be a thinkpiece.

You drank matcha? Cool. No need for lessons.

You flew to Dubai? Dope. Tell us why and move on.

That's... it.

That's your entire LinkedIn post. 😊

No need to apply some ancient philosophy to the most mundane daily events. Won't make you an "expert".

That's it.

No thinkpiece here. Just some Monday Motivation to re-evaluate your LinkedIn approach on how to position yourself as an "expert" with your content.

Remember: Positioning is everything.

And everything is positioning.

Ever since I received a diplomatic passport...

My world looks different. First off...

All the questions. 😂

"Can you drive over the speed limit now?"
"Can you walk around freely at airports now?"
"Do you have any supercool perks for diplomats?"

The answer to all is: No. Haha.

What's different is:

1. People finally respect the "online dollar"

It's not a myth anymore. Online "freelancers" are true businesspeople too. With teams on a payroll! In most cases, a lot wealthier and more experienced too.

2. People finally respect "personal branding"

The word "influencer" is gone. Now it's all about "impact". Where else can you run a business in 66 countries, while still living in Zenica, Bosnia? ❤️

3. The word "ambassador" has a new meaning

It's no longer a role given by the government. It's anyone with a platform. Young or wise. Especially online. With true power to impact millions around the world.

To my country, I say thank you.

And to the millions I've "impacted" over the last 17 years I've been doing this online thing...

I owe you. A lot. 🙏

Cheers!

From Bosnia and Herzegovina to the world,

Coach J

P.S. Don't ask me those questions anymore, ok?! :)

Gary V called comments a "new marketing function".

I got tagged a bunch in that post. 😀

Years ago, I started treating comments like an actual "growth strategy" on LinkedIn. In fact, it worked so well that even LinkedIn wanted to hear more about it.

1. They featured my commenting strategy for 1 billion users. (plastered it on their home feed)

2. I got invited to a call. (to talk commenting)

3. It became my signature. (rightfully so)

This was 4 years ago. And yet...

Nothing's changed.

It is still the best LinkedIn strategy ever.
It is still the most human hack for "growth".
It is still the thing that builds all my businesses.

The world's catching up.

But I'll keep on saying...

I told you so. 😊

Don't make me tell you again in another 4 years, k? Please start treating your comments seriously.

Deal?

Monday Motivation, over.

P.S. No AI comments either, ok?

Most LinkedIn DMs are pushy. Or salesy.

Let's fix that. (Full outreach masterclass)

This read is 2 minutes long. So either keep reading, or save it for later. Either way, you're in for a treat!

I will explain my tried-and-tested "warm outreach" approach. Using Linkbound, Kondo and Sales Nav.

(neither is a must, but each one ties into the other)

1. Familiar faces first

Most people reach out to complete strangers. This is why "selling" feels odd. There's no trust. Instead, focus on those you've already interacted with on LinkedIn.

2. Linkbound for engagement filtering

Analyze your engagement (or from your competitors if you don't get much engagement) with Linkbound. It will give you a complete list of "warm leads".

3. Filter leads to match your ICP (ideal client profile)

Linkbound has a brand-new feature which tailor-matches your ICP criteria to your offer. It means every name is both "familiar" + "qualified".

4. Feed into your LinkedIn CRM (Sales Nav)

Follow their LinkedIn activity closely. In other words:

5. Become "top of mind"

The easiest way to send that first DM is to spark engagement elsewhere. In a comment. In a reply. On their post. On someone else's post. Doesn't matter.

6. Attract profile views

Every profile view you receive is a "warm" signal. You can now easily send the first DM saying "Hey, so happy you visited my profile! What brought you here?"

7. Send DMs daily

Make "reaching out to ICPs" a daily habit. No excuses. It will feel angsty at first. The more you do it, the easier and more enjoyable it gets. I promise you this!

8. Never pitch in the first message. Please.

9. Always follow the PBS psychology

Permission-Based Selling means you never outright send something (pitch deck, offer, link) "assuming" they need it. Always ask first. And get a Yes first.

10. Separate DMs into folders, with Kondo

Depending on who you message, you might have different conversations. Kondo (made by Mitchell Tan) lets you have multiple LinkedIn inboxes. Brilliant!

11. Set follow-ups in Kondo

I recommend setting alerts in Kondo for "no-replies". You're not necessarily being ghosted when someone doesn't reply. You just have to remind them.

12. Track progress in Linkbound

The more you talk to each person, readying the "sale", simply drag and drop your conversations further. You'll see your leads qualified in real time to a Yes or No.

13. Feed back into Sales Nav

A lead that says No now is not a "forever No". Keep up with their LinkedIn updates. Their network might be packed with new opportunities for you. Repeat 1-12.

TL;DR:

• Establish familiarity first by engaging
• Use Linkbound to qualify before outreach
• Use Kondo for streamlined DM management
• Use Sales Nav to source network opportunities
• Never pitchslap :)

Familiarity → Filtering → Permission → Trust → 💰

I've read many International Women's Day posts.

This is mine. For my special ones. ❤️

1. Mom. May God bless our mamas. They're the reason we're even here. Never forget to hug yours daily and shower them with precious gifts. (if you can)

2. Bridgette Orten. Forever thank you. You're the reason I started coaching people on LinkedIn. You were THAT persistent client who pushed me into saying Yes, after I said No to who knows how many people.

3. Ladies in my Link Up community. You powerhouses deserve a throne. Especially Victoria, Kristina, and Thahaseen. I don't know what I'd do without you.

4. All my day 1's. (you know who you are)

That's it. That's the post.

No Monday Motivation. Just a thank you to all the ladies who've changed my life and career.

You deserve the world. ❤️

P.S. Who are your superhero ladies?

Today is a beautiful day. Ramadan begins. ❤️

(I hope this post lights up your feed)

The very first time I wrote about Ramadan, my post was featured by LinkedIn News for millions.

So I write one every year.

Just as a reminder that we all might have friends, employees, or connections who are fasting. Me?

I've been fasting Ramadan for 25 years. So let me share a few bits from a first-person POV:

1. This is not a month for fasting. It's for "cleansing".
↳ Motivate yourself to think more positively.

2. The goal is to maximize all the "good" you do.
↳ Remind yourself to do / give more charity.

3. Healthy habits become normal habits.
↳ Do your best to build small daily habits too.

4. Tolerance and empathy reach an all-time high.
↳ Practice patience. Understanding. Love for others.

5. And here's my personal ask:

If you have fasting employees, cut them some slack the next few weeks. Skip those morning meetings. Better yet, do your best to participate in Ramadan activities. Invite your team to "iftar" (the dinner meal). And if you can all get together to buy food for the homeless and those "in need" in your area, do it 10x. Because even the homeless are fasting. So do your part.

In a nutshell...

Ramadan fasting might be prescribed for Muslims only. But it brings betterment for anyone, anywhere.

In the next 30 days...

"Do your best to do your best".

Ramadan Mubarak, my dear friends. ❤️

The whole point of working more is "working less".

So you can do the things that matter. ❤️

Before you comment anything:

1. I take 3-day weekends every week
2. No, it wasn't always like this
3. Each career has seasons

Marc Randoplh, Netflix co-founder, said in his last post that "20 years from now, the only people who will remember that you worked late are your kids".

And I can't agree more.

"Ball till you fall"? I don't do that anymore. 😊

I'm in my "father season", and this is exactly how I approach business and coach others to scale their businesses. More time freed up. In fact...

A fun conversation came up in my Link Up community call last week, where we talked about how "not scaling is okay" and "not hiring more people is okay".

"I've never had a coach tell me 'don't scale'"...

It's because family doesn't come first for most. It's typically a chase with no end. More leads, more this, more that... trust me when I tell you. It never ends.

The real ROI isn't "money made", it's "time earned". ❤️

And whoever you are that is reading this...

I hope you enter this season soon, friend.

Monday Motivation, over.

P.S. Ball hard? Or ball smart? What's your season?

I flew 8 people across the world this year.

(and not everyone understands WHY)

So let me give you 3 reasons:

1. It's a selling point. Nobody else "flies people out". But Link Up does. See how that works? It's an added value proposition → Give more than the competition.

Who says no to a free flight?!

2. I'm promoting my country, Bosnia and Herzegovina. You have no idea how many people told me "I never heard of Bosnia until I started following you".

And I believe them. 🇧🇦

3. It's a promise I made to myself a long time ago. That "I'll do things differently". All of this? I don't pay with a company card → I pay with my personal one.

Hotels always get shocked when I say "no invoice".

TL;DR:

1. Give more than the competition
2. Be a proud ambassador of your roots
3. Do it so cool, people can't believe it's real

P.S. We even had a "Link Up flight" recently, with 6 ladies on the same flight traveling to Bosnia. ❤️

This post is a letter to the younger me.

Because everything I was taught was wrong.

(These 5 lessons literally changed my 3 businesses)

1. Don't launch anything super-late in the year:

Worst advice ever. I launched my Link Up community in late November last year. Sold out before day 1.

2. Give several pricing choices:

Hah! I only have Yearly memberships. No monthly, 3m and 6m options. This skyrocketed our sales. A visible "spike" in my sales analytics screenshots.

(we just introduced Lifetime → another A+ move)

3. Spend more time in the DMs than anywhere else:

I did. Most wasteful experience on LinkedIn ever. Instead, I switched to commenting 90% of the time and THEN started DMing my commenters. Wild difference.

4. Share EXACTLY how much money you make:

No.

5. Share the why, not the how:

Funniest advice ever. Sharing the how has literally transformed my entire life. And I get to enable others too. So WHY not share more of it?

HOW does it make sense to keep knowledge to yourself? You'll be gone in a few years, bud.

Life is too short for gatekeeping.

Bonus: Have fun in your content. Don't stress it.

I don't have a content plan. Never had one in all my years. I literally wrote this post 20 minutes ago.

Just write what feels right.

Otherwise, it'll never be alright.

Thanks for reading my end-of-week letter.

Love,

- Coach J ❤️

Let me know if you learned anything new here today?

I've been accused of this many times.

Faking my engagement. Being in secret groups.

*yawn 🥱

(read til the end, it's fun, I promise)

Those who follow me on LinkedIn for years know:

1. I've never been in an engagement pod. Have always openly spoken against it. For those of you who don't know what this is...

Engagement pods = fake creator bubbles where people support each other like for like, comment for comment, and artificially boost the performance of their posts.

It's like organized mafia, but on LinkedIn. 🙃

2. Yet I get 1,000s of comments on each post. I sell out my offers. I get business done.

It's because I don't automate my comments. I spend hours here to build relationships. Every word is me.

Literally ranked as the no. 1 engagement rate in the world (Aware). And the no. 1 authenticity score by any big creator (99.9% engagement score by Favikon).

The raw data doesn't lie. ✌️

3. Even in my Link Up community - my private coaching platform - URLs are forbidden.

Like, you can't even drop a link in the chat! That's how I set it up. That's how much I dislike the idea of "podding" and offering fake support on a post.

Bonus:

This is the funniest part. I still get "exposed" by some "experts" out there for having GOOD engagement on my content. Some are even counting, calculating, measuring... My typing speed. 😂

Yes, my typing speed!

I swear you can't make this up. 🤦‍♂️

Like, just try harder, folks. Spend more time here. Invest in commenting. Invest in building relationships.

Or you know what, just be a better coach.

Give better advice, you know.

Oh wait, you can't.

Because real expertise can't be bought by fake groups. Thought leadership isn't created in a WhatsApp channel.

Try harder, eh?

I'll even leave the first comment on your first "real" post. Just as a sign of support.

*wink 😉

Your King of Engagement,

Jasmin

Coaching is the most rewarding job I've ever had.

Because nowhere-else will you hear:

1. "My daughter's in an Ivy League school because you believed in me when nobody else did"

2. "My business has 2 parts: before and after Jasmin"

3. "I would recommend Jay to raise my children"

(yes, the 3rd one is a real testimonial 😂)

When people see my number "57,000+", they assume it's bloated. But that's just my 1-1s, live training (online or offline), and community members.

The real number of "lives impacted" is much higher.

It's why I don't mind overdoing it.

1. I'll schedule a 1-hour live, and then stay for 3
2. I'll literally do back-to-back streams for 6 hours
3. I run a coaching channel: https://linkupbyjasmin.com

Because for me, the reward isn't after the work.

It's in it.

I'm in love with what I do. And from that place of love, I really wish the best for you (you reading this) and your career. Hope your dream job finds you too! ❤️

Thanks for reading this love letter.

P.S. What was your dream job growing up? I wanted to be a rapper. (and I did 6 albums 😉)

In 2011, I hauled trash to fund my university.

I drove those same streets recently.

(I got emotional writing this)

Same exact streets where I'd spend 12 hours per day, wearing 2kg boots, out in the scorching sun, wheeling strangers' trash cans to earn a paycheck.

Just to earn enough money over the summer, come home, and say "Mama, this is for uni next year".

I did this every summer. Proudly.

But...

(now for the real reason I'm sharing this)

THIS is the part they often leave out on social media.

The messy part.

The part when you were [not who you are today].

The part that says "I'm not there yet". Nowhere close.

Often times, they only show you the highlight reel here, convincing you that "overnight" means overnight. That it's easy. No, it isn't. It takes decades sometimes!

(at least it did for me)

Never forget where you came from, friend.

Never get complacent. Always stay grounded.

That's the only message I have for today. Cheers. ❤️

(Repost if you loved this story ♻️)

P.S. Ask me anything you want in the comments. I'll give myself a challenge to respond to EVERY question I receive under this post. Thank you!

This is the simplest LinkedIn "hack" of all time.

Especially if you want more engagement.

ASK BETTER QUESTIONS!

I'm sure you'll agree with me when I say this:

"Sometimes I have no clue what to comment on certain posts that show up in my feed." 🤷‍♂️

→ Even if the hook is good.
→ Even if the advice is valuable.
→ Even if I actually like the author.

3 easy ways to get more replies on your post:

1. Ask a Yes/No question
2. Ask for numbers or figures
3. Ask a specific question; with examples

(I'll do number 3 in the next 7 seconds)

I tested this out with 100s of clients. And it always works. Especially if you don't overcomplicate it.

Ask a question, okay? It works.

(Repost this video for others ♻️)

P.S. What's your non-negotiable for LinkedIn's posts? Mine's 1-liner hooks. And a P.S. question, duh!
I never liked the phrase "10x". Until...

I started LinkedIn. (Just look at this gallery)

LinkedIn has MORE than 10x'd my network, my business, my influence - the list goes on - in just 4 years.

So here we go...

I'm gonna write 3 things now.

And they're all gonna sound ridiculous. Ready?

1. All we do is write words online. Talk to strangers on a webcam. And get paid for it. Ridiculously well-paid.

2. We pretend like we have it figured out. We don't. We just do it more confidently. And have better selfies.

3. I literally made more money this year than my mom and dad made in their entire careers. Together.

To LinkedIn, a genuine THANK YOU.

To you reading this...

Repost and 10x this post, ha! 😀

No seriously, go build something so ridiculously good, you'll laugh at it a few years from now. Go!

And network with strangers too!

Good luck, you!

Before being a LinkedIn coach, I was a rapper.

So here's LinkedIn explained with rap lyrics:

1. "Sunny days wouldn't be special if it wasn't for rain, joy wouldn't feel so good if it wasn't for pain" - 50 Cent

Meaning: Experiencing lower reach on LinkedIn? It's just part of the rainy season. The lows are what makes the journey special. It won't last forever, hey :)

2. "I do not know anybody who's winning who's taking the time to leave negative comments" - Connor Price

Meaning: Psychology says it takes 3x the effort to think negatively. So if you ever get bad comments under your LinkedIn posts... it's not you. It's them.

3. "Why am I so differently wired in my noggin? 'Cause sporadic as my thoughts come, it's mind-boggling" - Eminem

Meaning: Your perspective is your uniqueness. Everyone can share tips and tricks here. Share your POV! That is how you make your LinkedIn posts stand out.

4. "If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?" - Kendrick Lamar

Meaning: Sometimes you feel like nobody's reading your posts and you're shouting into the void. But somebody's always reading. Your "impressions" are never "zero".

5. "Everyone shines in different things" - Tupac

Meaning: Forget what everyone else is doing on LinkedIn. Focus on what YOU are good at. You won't get rewarded for others' posts. You will for yours.

---

Really hope you enjoyed this unusual post from me!

Tell me which lyric above spoke to you.

(Repost because it's cool ♻️)

I haven't done a LinkedIn Live since last year.

So let's make this one ONE to remember!

1. Ask me anything you want
2. Drop questions live in the chat
3. Celebrate my Link Up anniversary!
4. Watch me drop an exciting announcement

I REALLY miss doing lives! So...

I'll stay with you for 2 hours (at least) because I want to make sure this is the best live event of the year.

(maybe I'll even bring guests 👀)

I don't do these often. So mark your calendar ASAP.

3 things you can do immediately:

1. Repost this so your network sees it ♻️
2. Invite others to the event (up to 1k invites)
3. Leave a comment with a question for me to answer

See you on Nov 25!

Today is International Men's Day.

Which means "top lists day". For me?

This particular list made me smile. Because I'm on the cover with some all-time-great individuals I've been learning from for decades. Gary V. Chris Do.

To all my dawgs, bros, and men in the network...

Enjoy your day, fellas.

Get a burger.

Chill.

I'm spending today with my son, collecting stickers for our FIFA 365 album. Anyone want to come to a football game with me next summer in the US?

Also...

Shoutout to Sibel Terhaar and Leadership Up Magazine for putting this list together. It's a great initiative, and I'm happy to support it.

P.S. 65% of all my clients are women, so don't ask where's your list, ladies. March 8 is right around the corner, so let us enjoy this one. 😂

You're seeing many "what to do in 2026" posts.

But I wish you could read this one:

This contains 3 mindset "switches" that have redefined how I approach business this year. And life. ❤️

1. Chasing more money won't make you happy. I've seen many colleagues, many friends... chase a bigger income as their goal. Only to be left disappointed.

Money is never the goal. It's a consequence.

2. Chasing more leads won't grow your business. I've seen too many fall into the trap of more leads, more leads... But how many "clients" do you really need?!

A business won't run if you run after leads 24/7.

3. Chasing a high of dopamine all the time is not sustainable. You won't feel it. But it creeps in. Oh, it catches up to you. Taking breaks? Mandatory.

If you don't nurture yourself, you can't nurture others.

On that note, start the last one immediately.

Go touch some grass. (or snow ⛄️)

Happy holidays! - Coach J

P.S. Are you pausing your LinkedIn activity? Or slowing down, at least? Tell me your holiday strategy.

I gave myself a commenting challenge last week.

Not "more" comments → "new" comments!

I did 2 things:

1. Every time I published a new post, I made sure to interact with at least 50 new people under my post. People I have never spoken to before. Ever.

Result: Many fruitful DM conversations! Many new Link Up signups too. It felt great, to be honest!

And then in my feed:

2. Every time I opened my LinkedIn app, I'd purposely refresh it a few times so I see completely new people. And I'd make sure to support good posts.

Result: New profile views. Completely new profiles in my followers list. And side benefit → A LOT of those posts went viral after my comments. 😂

Lesson learned:

When your reach is low, you do what nobody wants to do. And that is to:

Stop complaining. And have fun again!

Cheers!

P.S. When was the last time you had actual fun on LinkedIn? Like, seriously?

P.P.S. Don't ask me to comment on your posts now! 😂

From LinkedIn feeds to TV screens!

My story just aired on national television.

For context: I recently received a diplomatic passport of Bosnia & Herzegovina, granted to me by our minister of foreign affairs. This news got a lot of attention!

But...

It reached a whole new level over the weekend. When it aired on the NATIONAL NEWS! Prime time slot. (yes, every person in the country watches this)

I took my "5 minutes of fame" to talk about:

1. Working without borders
2. The internet creating so many jobs
3. Using nothing but your words to find work
4. Building a global personal brand, all via LinkedIn

I smile as I write this. Because...

1. I'm writing this post from Dubai
2. Meeting clients and my Link Up members
3. Recording an international podcast in person
4. Being celebrated in the news, back home in Bosnia

So grateful. ❤️

Ask me anything you want under this post! I'll be answering questions for 1 hour.

- Coach J

P.S. We just crossed 350,000 followers!

If there's one thing I'd eliminate on LinkedIn...

It's pushy DMs. You know those:

1. Pitchslaps 5 seconds into the conversation
2. Assumptions done with (clearly) zero research
3. Unsolicited links, loom videos, or... voice notes ☠️

There's a much better way to do this.

It's called "PBS = Permission-Based Selling". Backed by psychology and rooted in human behavior.

PBS is pretty simple:

1. Ask for permission
2. Get the first Yes fast
3. Get the next Yes sooner

This video gives you a few examples of scripts and questions to ask in your "first" conversation when approaching potential clients.

Hope this helps! (Repost if so ♻️)

P.S. Anything worse here than a sleazy, salesy DM? AI comments maybe? Let's chat. 😊
After 350,000 followers on LinkedIn, here it goes...

What would I do as a complete beginner?

(Save this & Repost if it's valuable)

1. Fix up your profile → you should not even start posting until your profile lists 3 things: what you do, who you do it for, and the next step (send visitors somewhere)

2. Comment like your career depended on it → treat every thought you leave "all over" LinkedIn as a mini-post; bring traffic back to your (optimized) profile

3. Invite people to coffee chats → finding clients in the first 6 months is hard. Building a network is easy. And your network will often bring you opportunities.

4. Be a "name" anywhere you can → collab post with other creators, commenting early on posts, LinkedIn Live streams, involving others in your posts etc.

5. Don’t use AI. Period. → every bit of your activity, writing, and engagement should be manual. Otherwise, you'll always look for shortcuts. (and be left disappointed)

Bonus:

Have fun and spread love. Life's too good to be a negative dumbo on LinkedIn, bickering with others in the comments. You're better than that. 😊

Hope you enjoyed my (unusual) LinkedIn beginner's guide. Cheers, friends! ❤️

- Coach J

P.S. Ask me anything in the comments! Anything.

Them: "My LinkedIn engagement is low."

Me: "Are you commenting on others' posts?"

Them: "No, who's got time for that every day?"

Me: "The same people you expect to support you."

Give to get. With no regret. And you're forever set. ❤️
Successful people celebrate EVERYTHING!

This mindset applies to LinkedIn too:

1. No win is "too small"

In your mind, you may be thinking: "I only got 5K impressions on my last post." The real ones are already writing the hook: "3,000 CEOs just viewed my post!"

Those who think big, make it big.

2. You shouldn't avoid "fun"

Even the most corporate-y of corporate meetings involve fun moments, and people laughing. Stop taking yourself so seriously. Celebrate the small moments.

Look at this bday cake I got! I can't stop smiling.

3. There's a business lesson in everything.

You need to learn how to "pivot" the conversation, ok? Someone praised you in a comment? Screenshot it → ask for permission → use it as social proof.

Or...

Received a birthday cake from your Link Up community? Easy way to tell people how amazing your group is → and then invite people to join. 😉

See how easy it is to celebrate EVERYTHING?

Success leaves clues.

Just gotta notice the small things and then...

Write about it! Good luck.

P.S. Anybody want a slice of cake? We got plenty. 🍔

The current state of LinkedIn is questionable.

No one knows "what's working". However...

These 3 things will forever keep working:

1. Stop using "bait-and-switch" in your writing → I see too many posts reeling readers in with a clever hook only to talk about something entirely different by the end.

Pro tip: Summarize your post in the first 3 lines.

2. Create reach, don't expect it → Engage with others on their posts 90% more than you engage on your own posts. This percentage will never change.

Pro tip: Find 5 completely new people every day.

3. DM to nurture, not to sell → Those who buy from you won't be persuaded by 1 DM. This happens earlier. DM to start conversations, not to end them.

Pro tip: DM 1 ICP who views your profile every day.

LinkedIn will keep changing.

These three rules won't.

They're good forever.

Thank me later. 👋

P.S. What's up with everyone posting memes recently? Are we really THAT out of ideas? 🤔
Post image by Jasmin Alić
2 things need to happen in every LinkedIn post:

1. It needs to be applicable
2. It needs to invite conversation

A lot of people here share great tips, but they don't invite engagement to continue the conversation.

Inversely, a lot of people write posts only for engagements' sake, while the advice is lackluster.

Do both = you'll always do well on LinkedIn.

I've fixed this issue for 1000s already. Trust me when I tell you: Applicability is the real writing "secret".

Now go... apply this advice. 😊

Cheers! - Coach J

P.S. Do you always have a "next step" in your posts? Be honest in your comment. Oh, and happy weekend! 👋
Post image by Jasmin Alić
What's your favorite thing about LinkedIn now?

1. The highly unpredictable impression count
2. The "LinkedIn is now insufferable" posts
3. The very obvious AI-written comments
4. The mildly obvious AI-assisted posts
5. The not-so-obvious "bot" profiles
6. The fake engagement monsters
7. The removal of loved features
8. The averagely funny memes

Add your own if you'd like to.

P.S. Jokes aside, my favorite thing will always be engaging with new people every single day. This is how I've signed 99% of my coaching clients and community members over the years. It's why we're still winning after all these years. LinkedIn is rewarding if you want it to be. ❤️
I mentioned "SEO on LinkedIn" 4 years ago.

Just last week, LinkedIn shared their guide.

They call it "How to optimize your owned content for AI search": https://lnkd.in/d2g9CSRp

As someone who's been in the game for 17 years, I could see AI search replace Google search from a mile away. So I've been playing this game for years.

(taught my clients too 😊)

Here are 5 things you should ALWAYS do so your LinkedIn content ranks higher in AI searches:

1. Write "steps" as imperatives (for non-grammar nerds, this means using "active", not "ing" forms of verbs)

2. Add ALT descriptions to your images (makes your content accessible, but also readable by LLMs)

3. Optimize the readability of your content (no ultra-fancy words, max 20 words per sentence)

4. Optimize the visual structure of your content (so AI knows exactly what to scan first, second, etc.)

5. Keep posts focused on 1 main topic (but make sure you actually provide some actionable steps)

Bonus:

6. Rename carousel posts as "article titles" after uploading to LinkedIn (not the PDF file itself)

7. Treat hooks of video posts are "article titles" (referring to the 1st textual line of your video posts)

8. Format LinkedIn Articles and LinkedIn Newsletter posts the same way you'd format a website blog

---

For anyone wondering...

This entire post is a demonstration of the first 5 things I mentioned above. 😉

(In Link Up, I have an entire masterclass on this)

Curious...

Are you doing ALL 5 of these things in every post? Are you playing the SEO game too? Let's chat.

What to people think when they hear your name?

That... is your positioning. It's that simple.

You can analyze yours like this:

First step:

Do they know what you do?
Do they know how you help them?
What emotion do you inspire in them?

Second step:

Do they care about you?
Will they tell you things honestly?
Especially if you make a typo in the hook?

(you just went back to check, didn't you? 😊)

If so, you're in my second group.

So... thank you for that.

Now ask yourself these questions for real. Don't stop iterating until you can answer each one clearly.

That... is your positioning.

Hope this helps someone today.

- Coach J

P.S. Be honest, did you notice the typo right away?

LinkedIn invited me to a call. They heard the roar.

So instead of writing a post about it...

I'm organizing a LinkedIn Live session where I'll share (what I can) from my direct call with LinkedIn on the state of the algorithm, restrictions, AI...

I'm doing this for all of us.

And you know I keep things transparent 100%. Because we all need that clarity on how to move forward + how to use this platform for our businesses.

Plus... by popular demand:

I'll use the second part of this stream to talk about my Link Up Community + new pricing + new updates. It's a new world inside Link Up now (for new members).

As always, drop your questions below.

I'll make sure to answer them during the show.

See you live!
