I sacrificed my mental health for pay.

I thought I could excuse toxic workplaces if I got paid well.

And miserable days turned into miserable months.

Until I realized it was time to call it quits.

While I tried to have my next job lined up, sometimes you don’t have that luxury.

Because here’s the reality:

✔️ Companies can lay off & fire you
✔️ Loved ones need caretaking
✔️ Priorities & people change

And so many more factors.

That’s why I would choose a healthy workplace over any salary increase.

Your mental health is more important than any paycheck.
__

5 Signs of Healthy Workplaces:

☝️ 1/ Being paid fairly

✌️ 2/ Having a voice in the workplace

🤟 3/ Transparent and open communication

🖖 4/ Having a manager who has your best interests

🖐️ 5/ Flexible time off and remote work (without the guilt)

A salary increase makes you happy once a year.

A healthy culture keeps you healthy every day. Repost to spread the word 🙏🏼

P.S. Tomorrow, I'm dropping a special announcement (hint: it's my secret to growing to 100K+ followers + hitting $200K+ in 8 months after quitting my 9-5)

Imposter syndrome is a silent killer.

5 tips to beat your imposter syndrome (and change your life)

☝️ 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟭: 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁

You might be telling yourself:

• “I’m not good enough”
• “I always do X.”
• “I’m too quiet.”

These are examples of negative self-talk (not rooted in facts).

✌️ 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲

If you want to improve, you have to do the hard things.

Examples:

- Want to be a better public speaker? Go give a presentation.
- Want to be a program manager? Run various projects in your job.
- Want to be a content creator? Start posting three days a week.

🤟𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯: 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸

Feedback is the only way to know your shortcomings.

And it doesn’t always come from others; it can come from you.

• Do a retro at the end of the week. (What went well? Didn’t? What are the learnings for next time?)
• Ask friends/colleagues (What can I do more of? What can I do less of?)

🖖 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟰: 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸

Those with a growth mindset find sources of self-worth outside of work.

Detach from work and invest in things that align with your values:

• Relationships
• Interesting projects
• Community services
• Activities that spark joy

🖐️ 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟱: 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 “…𝗬𝗲𝘁”

Once you hear your fixed mindset, you can rewire your brain.

By adding “…Yet” you powerfully reframe.

“I’m not a great leader…yet”
“I’m not in my dream job…yet”
“I’m not a very good writer…yet”

Imposter syndrome is a silent killer.

Here are 4 ways to dare greatly 👇🏼

(inspired by Brene Brown)

☝🏼 Get comfortable being uncomfortable

↳ Share your fears or mistakes with someone you trust.

↳ Stop striving for perfection but aim for progress instead (”I’m not perfect but I’m enough”)

↳ Remind yourself: being imperfect doesn’t mean you’re incapable.

✌🏼 Name it to tame it

↳ Say it out loud: “I feel like an imposter Sally right now.” Acknowledge the emotion vs letting it silently grow.

↳ Journal about what’s triggering your fear + ask: “Is this fact, or fear?”

↳ Talk to a colleague or mentor. You’ll likely hear, “Me too.”

🤟🏼 Focus on growth > perfection

↳ Treat mistakes as feedback for growth. It’s about failing FORWARD.

↳ Instead of asking, “Am I good enough?” ask, “What can I learn from this?”

🖖🏼 Remember: Worth ≠ achievements

↳ Write down 3 things you value about yourself that have nothing to do with work.

↳ Celebrate small wins (they count just as much as the big ones).

↳ Practice self-love. Do 1 thing that sparks joy daily (reading, running, meditation).

So please stop telling yourself you’re not good enough. Growth happens when you do the things that make you uncomfortable <3

📌 I talk about leveling up your 9-to-5, building a fulfilling business, and designing a life on your terms.

I don’t believe in dream jobs.

But I believe in healthy workplaces.

🟢 5 Green Flags of Healthy Workplaces

1/ Quality of Life is Celebrated

↳ Offering flexible work arrangements, generous PTO, and wellness perks

2/ Having a Life Beyond Work is Expected

↳ Encourages breaks, disconnects after hours, and pursues personal passion projects/side hustles

3/ Taking Time Off for Mental Health is Encouraged

↳ Allows employees to take time off for mental health reasons without judgment.

4. Psychological Safety

↳ Employees feel comfortable sharing their opinions, concerns, and ideas without fear of judgment

5/ Recognition & Appreciation

↳ They recognize contributions and incentivize people with raises, bonuses, impactful projects, and flexibility

When praying for a job, also pray for a culture that won't lead to burnout, anxiety, and stress 🙏🏼 Repost if you agree.

Introverts love remote work.

I realized I’m much more productive WFH.

No more dealing with:

- Office distractions
- Endless meetings
- Commuting

I’ve traded it for:

- Flexibility
- A quiet mind
- A healthier body

The truth is that people operate at their best in an environment that works for them.

It can be hybrid, in-office, or entirely remote.

For many introverts like me, it’s a dream lifestyle.

And with tools like Fathom - AI Meeting Assistant, an AI note-taker that fully transcribes & summarizes my meetings, I’ve never been more productive and present working remotely.

Remote work isn’t just a new way of working.

It’s a new way of living. Repost if you love remote work 🙌🏼

What I learned about life.

It’s not meant to be easy.

It’s hard, uncomfortable, even painful at times.

Here’s what I mean:

↳ I was bullied growing up.

↳ I was fired from a job I loved.

↳ I lost my mom to cancer when I was 25.

I could’ve stayed angry but I chose to start over.

And by giving myself another ‘do over’:

✔️ I found the love of my life (I made the first move)

✔️ I built a 6-figure business doing what I love

✔️ I landed dream jobs at dream companies

✔️ I have amazing friends & mentors

It’s never too late to start over.

But it can be too late to stay STUCK.

Because here’s the truth:

There’s always an opportunity cost.

↳ A toxic partner can cost your peace.

↳ A bad boss can cost your mental health.

↳ A job with no growth can drain your potential.

So, what’s the cost of you staying exactly where you are?

Could you be happier? healthier? wealthier?

What’s 1 hard thing you can do today that your future self with thank you for?

The only person that needs to believe in you, is YOU 💙

The secret to employee retention?

It’s not just about benefits or fancy perks.

It’s about Culture.

Here are 4 Culture Green 🟢 Flags:

1/ ☝🏼 Quality of Life is Celebrated

↳ Offering flexible work arrangements, generous PTO, and wellness perks.

2/ ✌🏼 Having a Life Beyond Work is the Norm

↳ Encourages breaks, disconnects after hours, and pursues personal passion projects/side hustles.

3/ 🤟🏼 Taking Time Off for Mental Health is Encouraged

↳ Allows employees to take time off for mental health reasons without judgment.

Leaders also lead by example.

4/ 🖖🏼 Psychological Safety

↳ Employees feel comfortable sharing their opinions, concerns, and ideas without fear of judgment.

Losing great talent will cost you WAY more than cultivating the RIGHT culture where people can thrive.

Because when good people leave, your business loses more than just an employee.

What’s another green flag? 👇🏼

Imposter syndrome is a silent killer.

5 tips to beat it (and change your life 🔥)

☝🏼 Step 1: Recognize Your Fixed Mindset

Negative self-talk sounds like:

↳ “I’m not good enough.”
↳ “I always mess up.”
↳ “I’m too quiet.”

These aren’t facts—they are negative thoughts. Recognizing them is the first step.

✌🏼 Step 2: Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable

Growth lives outside your comfort zone.

↳ Want to improve public speaking? Say yes to that presentation.
↳ Want to become a program manager? Raise your hand to lead that project.
↳ Want to create content? Start posting 3x a week.

The more you stretch, the more you grow.

🤟🏼 Step 3: Seek Meaningful Feedback

Feedback starts with you.

↳ Do a weekly retro: What worked? What didn’t? What’s next?
↳ Ask colleagues or friends: What should I do more of? Less of?

Feedback is a gift for growth.

🖖🏼 Step 4: Detach Your Self-Worth From Work

You are more than your job.

Grow in areas that align with your values:

↳ Nurture relationships.
↳ Pursue passion projects.
↳ Volunteer or give back.
↳ Prioritize hobbies that bring joy.

🖐🏼 Step 5: Add “…Yet” to Reframe

Turn self-doubt into self-belief with one word: “Yet.”

↳ “I’m not a great leader…yet.”
↳ “I’m not in my dream job…yet.”
↳ “I’m not a skilled writer…yet.”

If you can’t beat fear, just do it scared. If not you, then who?

What’s ONE step you can take today? 👇🏼

I know Program Managers who used to be:

- A college dropout
- Office Manager
- Military officer
- Consultant
- Translator
- Producer
- Designer
- Engineer
- Analyst
- Teacher

And so many more from untraditional backgrounds.

Don’t let job descriptions paralyze you.

Here is what (actually) matters:

✅ Guiding teams to accomplish a shared goal
✅ Navigating and driving change that sticks
✅ Effectively holding people accountable
✅ Leading projects from start to finish
✅ Measuring and articulating impact
✅ Ability to influence without authority

You are NOT a program manager because of your TITLE.

You ARE a program manager because of your ACTIONS.

This is how I went from a Customer Success Manager to a Program Manager without starting over.

Remember to focus on impact vs titles. Repost if you agree 🙏🏼

You got this 🙌🏼.

P.S. I shared my favorite resume tips in my newsletter (and how you can land a Program Manager role WITHOUT the title) by leveraging key impact metrics.

Me in my 20s:

- I want to buy a home
- I want to make 6 figures
- I want to work at big companies

Me in my 30s:

- I prioritize peace and presence
- I build products that actually help people
- I crave deep, tech-free time with the people I love

So, what changed?

After hitting my “big goals” by 27, I still felt... empty.

All the titles, salaries, and wins and yet, something was missing.

That’s when I knew I needed to shift my definition of success.

Now at 33, success looks a little different:

🟢 Freedom > big salary
🟢 Meaningful experiences > status
🟢 Being aligned > being impressive

I’m blessed to partner with companies like Kajabi for making it possible to monetize my expertise so I can build my dream life.

Kajabi’s new platform updates have made it ridiculously easy to:

↳ Personalize the student experience (hello, new coaching portal!)
↳ Track exactly what content’s performing best
↳ Scale without sacrificing connection

There’s only a a few months left before the year ends.

So, what’s 1 thing you’re doing to make it count?

Remember, it’s never too late to start something 😉

I love this story so much.

Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, owns a $4 trillion dollar company

And yet his LinkedIn profile lists just TWO jobs:

☝🏼 Dishwasher, busboy, and waiter at Denny’s
✌🏼 Founder & CEO of Nvidia

His profile went viral, and people started calling it “the most inspiring LinkedIn profile ever.”

Here’s why his story resonates:

1/ Your first job doesn’t define your success

We’ve all had jobs that felt small or irrelevant. That’s normal.

What matters is what you take from them.

2/ Every experience matters

Jensen doesn’t list every role he’s had.

But even working at Denny’s gave him lessons in grit, humility, and service.

These are traits that shaped how he leads today.

3/ Careers aren’t linear

He went on to earn a Master’s from Stanford, worked as a chip designer at AMD and LSI Logic, while raising 2 children.

In 1993, he co-founded Nvidia while sitting in a booth at Denny’s with “no idea how” to start a company.

30 years later, Jensen is one of the most influential leaders in tech.

Let this be your reminder:

Your resume does not define you.

Your background does not define you.

And no one else gets to define your story except for YOU 💙

Your job title doesn’t matter as much as you think.

Let’s say you want to pivot to a program manager role:

Here is what actually matters:

✅ Measuring and articulating impact
✅ Leading projects from start to finish
✅ Ability to influence without authority
✅ Effectively holding people accountable
✅ Navigating and driving change that sticks
✅ Guiding teams to accomplish a shared goal

You are NOT a program manager because of your TITLE.

You ARE a program manager because of your ACTIONS.

This is how I went from a Customer Success Manager to a Program Manager without starting over (or a PMP).

Focus on your impact > not your title.

Quiet is not weak.

Many people get this wrong about introverts.

We’re not anti-social. We don’t hate being around people.

We just love being at peace.

We’re actually extremely extroverted around the right people 🤫

So how can leaders nurture quiet talent on their teams?

4 simple phrases can make all the difference 👇🏼

☝🏼 “I value your perspective.”

↳ Let them know their voice matters.

✌🏼 “Take your time to think about it.”

↳ Respect their need to process info and give thoughtful responses.

🤟🏼 “I appreciate your thoughtful input.”

↳ Acknowledge the power of their quiet contributions.

🖖🏼 “How do you like to be recognized?”

↳ Ask how they prefer to be celebrated (without assuming)

What’s #5? 👇🏼

Let’s stop rewarding people for dominating discussions and value a quiet voice.

Being quiet is a superpower, not a weakness.

PS If you’re ready to grow in your PM career as a quiet yet INFLUENTIAL leader: to land a strategic role, increase your impact and income, and feel confident doing it…

I’ve quit 5 jobs (fired twice)

I gave a two weeks notice every time.

Within 2 weeks, I saw my employer hire for my backfill.

The point?

Our roles are replaceable.

→ Is going the extra mile worth it?

→ Are the late nights & weekends worth it?

→ Was the paycheck worth your mental health?

Most of the time, the answer is no.

No one is immune from layoffs.

Our roles are disposable.

But our loved ones? Never.

Here's what I recommend 👇🏼
__

1/ Make space for your side hustle.

Dedicate 1 hour daily to market your services, have sales calls, and iterate on your offer.
__

2/ Plan and commit to your vacations.

Put it in the calendar now (and request PTO) — even if it’s just one or two a year.

Don’t wait until burnout forces you to take time off.
__

3/ Pushback and protect your boundaries.

Say this:

"I want to give this the attention it deserves, and right now, that’s not possible without pushing into personal time I'm protecting. Can we revisit this later?"

You don’t need to justify every choice.
__

4/ Go home and spend time with your family.

Be fully present, even if it’s just an hour over dinner.

You’ll never regret showing up for your people.
__

5/ Build the personal brand you always wanted.

Pick one platform: LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, or a newsletter.

Show up consistently, even when it feels like no one’s watching.

Talk about what you're learning, what you're building, and what you believe.

Your personal brand isn’t about building a huge following.

It’s about being visible to the right people.
__

And remember, your job is just a sliver of your life. Repost to share this reminder with your network 🙏🏼

So go live your best life. If not you, then who?

I’m on a journey to design my dream life, and I hope it inspires you too 🫶

p.s. I’m heading to Dreamforce in SF today! Come say hello 🙋🏻‍♀️. Who else is going?

I wish all recruiters were like this.

My friend interviewed someone who was unemployed for over 1 year.

She saw their resume, believed she was a good fit and reached out.

She didn't drill them into their career gaps and why they were still looking.

Instead, she spoke with compassion and let them share their own story.

As a result, she advanced to the next round despite having several career gaps and an imperfect resume.

Life happens to everyone.

Let's lead with empathy and treat candidates with compassion 💙
__

4 Ways You Can Lead With Kindness

☝️ 1/ Provide constructive feedback

→ What could've sounded better in their interviews?
→ Example: “Reframe from saying 'we' accomplished X to 'I' did Y to show YOUR impact.“

✌️ 2/ Provide a LinkedIn recommendation

→ “Hey, I know you’re currently on the job hunt, and I wanted to give you a glowing recommendation. Hope it helps.”

🤟 3/ Share job leads using this template:

“𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆𝗅 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁, 𝗜'𝗺 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲.

𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗜 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 [𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲], 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿. 𝗜’𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼.”

🖖 4/ Provide a human response (no ghosting, please)

Be kind to job seekers 🙏🏼

No one is ever TOO important to show kindness.

Repost to remind your network to choose kindness daily 💙

10 years ago, I was in a job I hated…

Toxic bosses, high turnover, & poor company culture.

Thanks to Rob Dance for this quote 🙏🏼

No matter how hard I worked, I wasn't ever good enough.

I tried to stick it out but was fired in under 1 year.

I was crushed. I never thought I’d be able to get back up.

10 years later, I’ve worked at dream companies like LinkedIn, Meta, and Figma.

I led incredibly impactful projects, 5X my salary, and worked with world-class leaders.

The lesson?

NEVER give up. You can turn each rejection and redirect it into something better.

Regardless of the situation, I ALWAYS bet on myself.

Because if not you, then who?

Never let a toxic workplace or person define your worth.

Only YOU define your worth.

Betting yourself is one of the best investments you can make.

__

6 questions to ask if you're in the right place 👇🏼

1/ Am I challenged?

2/ Am I learning & growing?

3/ Do I feel like I can make an impact?

4/ Do I align with the values of the company?

5/ Am I being valued & recognized for my work?

6/ Do I enjoy working with my team and my boss?

Remember what your non-negotiables are (and never settle for less).

Choose yourself daily 💙

How are you choosing yourself today?

Great managers can make (or break your career).

I’ve grown so much from amazing managers.

Which is why working for the right leader is a non-negotiable for me.

🙋🏻‍♀️ 10 Questions to Ask Your Future Boss:

1. How do you like to provide and receive feedback?

2. How do you personally measure success for your team?

3. What are some of the biggest rewards of working on this team?

4. How do you empower your team to take ownership of their work?

5. How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance, and how do you promote it?

6. What learning resources have you found valuable in your career development?

7. Can you tell me about a recent win you're proud of and how the team contributed?

8. Can you tell me about a recent team challenge and how you guided them through it?

9. What qualities do you value most in your team, and how do you foster those qualities?

10. Can you tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision? How did you approach it, and what was the outcome?

Remember, interviewing is a two-way street.

The biggest career perk is a manager who invests in you.

Having a good boss is a blessing 🙏🏼

Quiet is not 🚫 weak.

Most people think introverts are anti-social, too shy, and not ‘leadership material.’

I saw loud voices get recognized, land promotions, and get a seat at the table.

But here’s the truth: Quiet voices have the loudest minds.

That’s why Linda Le🌻 and I hosted an IRL Introvert Creatives Meetup at SXSW— and wow the feedback was MORE than we ever expected.

“I feel SO seen.”

“I don’t know why we haven’t had this before.”

“Thank you so much for creating a safe space for us. Please do it again!”

We even ran a fun poll: “What’s your biggest pet peeve as an INTROVERT?”

Drumroll please 🥁. . .

☝🏼 Ice breakers (or being called on)
✌🏼 Forced conversations
🤟🏼 No downtime

And because we KNOW how it feels to be drained by most networking events, we designed the meetup differently:

✅ Warm welcome

→ A personal hello to each attendee + optional facilitation of convos

✅ No forced interactions

→ Space to simply exist, enjoy, and engage on your terms

✅ Intentional breaks

→ Time to recharge or continue meaningful conversations

This meetup was was proof that introverts don’t need to change.

We just need spaces designed for the way we thrive.

Being quiet is a superpower, not a weakness 🙏🏼 repost if you agree 🩵

P.S. If you came out, thank you SO much for reminding us that being quiet is a strength (there’s nothing wrong with us!)

I grew my side hustle into a $20-40K/month business.

7 months ago, I quit Big Tech to join what Teachable’s calling the 9-5 Quitters Club 🙌🏼

If I were to start over, here’s what I’d do:

☝️ 1/ 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲.

→ What are people asking you about?
→ What skills/talents come naturally for you vs others?

I became a career coach for Program Managers because people were asking me how I did it and if I could coach them.

This gave me the confidence to help people and recognize my value.
__

I shared one post on LinkedIn announcing that I was taking coaching clients, added a Calendly link, and booked out for two weeks.

Little did I know, this was JUST the beginning.

→ What systems/tools can streamline the most time-consuming tasks?

✔️ Client onboarding (I used HoneyBook)
✔️ Accounting/bookkeeping (I hired bookkeepers and a CPA)
✔️ Library of resources (I used Canva, Google Docs, Notion, and reccomend Teachable!)

I realized 1-1 coaching was unsustainable, so I ran a group cohort.

This allowed me to go from 1-1 to 1-many, 10X my income, and preserve my bandwidth.

I never waited for a perfect moment to launch coaching, guides, newsletter, etc.

I really love Teachable because they’re helping creators like me turn my passion into profit (and yes, while juggling a 9-to-5).

And you can, too.

Stop waiting for your work to speak for itself.

In 2025, that's not enough.

You can be amazing at what you do.

You can have the degrees, experience, and referrals.

But if no one knows you exist… none of it matters.

We’re not in a job market anymore.

We’re deep in an attention market.

Here’s the reality:

↳ People are Googling you before they meet you
↳ They’re judging your value before you even show up
↳ Recruiters aren’t just checking your resume (they’re scrolling your LinkedIn)

So if you’re doing what you’ve always done and expecting different results...

It’s time to switch it up.

Here’s how to go from invisible → visible:

1️⃣ Share what you're learning.

Example: “Just wrapped up a speaking cohort and learned more in 8 weeks than I thought possible. Here are 3 things that surprised me…”

2️⃣ Post about your job search journey.

Example: “Applied to 12 roles this week. Got 2 interviews. Got 5 referrals. Here’s what helped me land the referrals:”

3️⃣ Comment with insight on posts in your field.

Example: On a post about remote leadership —
“Totally agree. I’ve seen async tools make or break team culture — especially for introverts.”

4️⃣ Let people know what you’re great at and what you’re looking for.

Example: “If you need someone who can translate big ideas into action steps, I’m your person.

Looking for my next role in project management and GTM strategy for a mission-driven AI startup.”

Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.
And that’s power.

You weren’t meant to feel stuck, underpaid, or overlooked.

You were meant to lead, to be respected, and thrive not just survive.

If you're ready to own your voice and land a role where you're paid well, valued deeply, and excited to show up…

I’d love to help. I work with senior professionals to level up their leadership and land strategic program management roles they love.

How to find a career you genuinely love.

Here are 3 things to gain career clarity (using Ikigai)

This Japanese concept of Ikigai changed my life.

Ikigai means ‘your reason for being’ and it’s both an idea and a way of life.

☝️ Step 1: Answer these 4 questions

↳ What am I GOOD AT?
↳ What do I LOVE DOING?
↳ What does the WORLD NEED?
↳ What can I BE PAID FOR?

__

✌️Step 2: Cross-reference answers in Step 1, and note themes

↳ PASSION (What I love + What I’m good at)
↳ MISSION (What I love + What the world needs)
↳ PROFESSION (What I’m good at + What I can be paid for)
↳ VOCATION (What the world needs + What I can be paid for)

__

🤟 Step 3: Find your IKIGAI

Cross-reference the four categories from Step 2 and note any similar themes.

My Ikigai is . . .

Example: My Ikigai is helping others land amazing project management roles so they can build fulfilling careers.

Purpose and money can coexist 💙

Quiet isn’t a weakness.

I’ve had managers who told me I should be more like my coworkers and speak up more.

I was shamed for being too quiet and ‘appear’ not confident enough.

Then, I had compassionate leaders who didn’t try to change me.

They gave me space to collect my thoughts at my own speed.

And this made a huge difference in my mental health, confidence and productivity.

It’s easy to judge someone and put people in a rigid box.

But it takes a kind and compassionate leader to recognize someone’s talent and bring out the best in them.

Leadership is about actions.

Great leaders create the right environment for a person to truly thrive 🙏🏼

Never let someone shame you for being too quiet.

Being quiet is your superpower 💙

You are 100% replaceable (at work)

I’ve seen friends and family get laid off.

They worked for the best companies, such as Google, LinkedIn, and Meta.

They lost jobs regardless of their performance, tenure, title, or level.

It makes you realize that work can only be so important in your life.

Because at the end of the day, the company will move on.

So don’t tie your identity to your job.

Instead, invest in those that won’t (and can’t) replace you 💙.

Remember to:

✅ Take that vacation.
✅ Attend your kid’s recital.
✅ Celebrate your anniversary.
✅ Attend your friend’s wedding.
✅ Take your parents to the doctor’s.
✅ Do what you need to do (outside of work).

Prioritize what truly matters because you only have one life to live.

You are replaceable at work.

But your loved ones will never replace you.

Hey, I’m Jean Kang and I’m a job hopper 🙋🏻‍♀️.

Contrary to most HR standards, candidates who job hop (who leave after 1 year) are considered red flags.

Then I guess I’m the biggest red flag because I’ve had 8 jobs in 9 years.

I’ve been told that I shouldn’t leave my job for a new one.

But the benefits outweighed everything in terms of:

✅ Salary
✅ Mental health
✅ Work-life balance

Job hopping was the best thing I could’ve done for my career and myself.

At the end of the day, companies are going to do what’s best for them.

So you should do what’s best for you.

PS Yesterday, I shared my actual salary and growth for all of my 7 jobs (and quadrupled my salary in 9 years) https://lnkd.in/e3xEtvBd

I sacrificed my mental health for pay.

🚨Spoiler alert: it wasn’t worth it.

The best investment I ever made wasn’t in a job or coach, it was in my partner.

We celebrated 3 years of being married (and 5 years together) 🥹

Here’s why he’s my ultimate secret weapon:

1. ☝🏼 He’s my biggest cheerleader

He literally celebrates every milestone with me (every new follower, sale closed, brand deal, etc.)

This motivates me to work harder and actually *look forward* to sharing my wins.

2. ✌🏼 Gives me honest and loving feedback

He doesn’t talk much, but when he does, I *listen*.

His words carry *weight* because I know they’re coming from a place of deep love and support.

We both have ZERO ego (which makes it easier to grow, together)

3. 🤟🏼 We are a team

We make every decision side by side. We don’t assume or keep score.

We communicate + lead with transparency.

(yes, even when I accidentally hit his car and took full responsibility 🙊).

4. 🖖🏼 He grounds me

I can spiral into overthinking, FOMO, and analysis paralysis.

He brings me back to what matters: peace, joy, and rest.

He reminds me that *I’m enough* even when I haven’t “done enough.”

5. 🫶🏼 He’s my safe place

In a world that constantly asks me to prove, perform, and push harder…

He’s my reminder that I’m already loved, already worthy, already home.

After any difficult day, I can come to him and know I’m where I need to be 💙

You don’t have to choose between success *and* love.

You just have to choose someone who can hold both with you.

To the real MVP in my corner, my hubby - thank you.

I wouldn’t be who I am without you.

So if you're choosing a partner, think like a CEO:

↳ Do they align with your core values?
↳ Do they make your life *better*, not harder?
↳ Do they bring strengths that balance and elevate yours?
↳ Do they believe in *you*— not just your potential or success?
↳ Can you navigate hard conversations with honesty and grace?

Tag the partner who’s your ride or die 🫶

I would tag him but he doesn’t want attention 🤣

Work-life balance looks different for everyone.

It’s about creating a lifestyle that works for YOU.

5 ways I find balance ⚖️

1/ Define What “Enough” Looks Like

↳ Set a clear stop point so you know when to rest
↳ Example: Work on priority 3 items for the day

2/ Create “No-Work” Zones

↳ No work before 8 AM. No emails after dinner (block these off)
↳ Boundaries protect both your time and your energy.

3/ Don’t Glorify the Hustle

↳ Doing more doesn’t mean you’re achieving more.
↳ Make time for things outside of work that spark joy (ex. date nights, hobbies, going on vacation)

Work will always be there.

4/ Delegate & Outsource Tasks

↳ Hire a VA/Interns to help you automate low-impact tasks like emails, design work, and data cleanup.
↳ Identify tools to help you automate using tools like Zapier

Ask yourself, what’s your time worth?

5/ Treat Rest Like a Priority, Not a Reward

↳ You don’t need to “earn” time off.
↳ Prioritize rest and create 1-2 hours / day to create tech-free breaks.

When you rest, you operate at your best.

Remember, life looks different for everyone.

Give yourself grace to live in harmony vs perfect balance.

How do you find balance in your life?

Google launched a free AI learning tool

(and it’s so cool) 😱

It’s part of their new AI experiment called Learn Your Way,

and it’s one of the most intuitive tools I’ve seen for modern learners.

A few standouts:

☝🏼 It adapts to your grade level and your interests
✌🏼 It converts material into formats you’ll actually use (audio, mind maps, slides, etc.)
🤟🏼 It checks in with quizzes and memory boosters so the info actually sticks

Say you’re learning physics.. it’ll literally teach you with rocket examples if you’re into space.

No more boring, generic explanations (bye to old textbooks)

This is still early (and in testing) but this is what I call learning BEYOND the classroom.

You’re not just learning new things.

You’re learning in a way that works BEST for YOU.

And I’m so HERE 👏🏼 FOR 👏🏼 IT👏🏼

I used to be terrified of AI.

I thought it would take my job, be too complex to learn, and honestly?

Make the world worse. But here’s what changed my mind:

☝🏼 AI is just a tool.

↳ Like any tool, it’s only as powerful as the person who knows how to use it.

✌🏼 It’s not as hard as you think.

↳ Start small. Focus on what you can simplify, not everything you have to learn.

🤟🏼 It actually makes you more human.

↳ Let AI take the admin off your plate so you can stay creative, present, and more ✨HUMAN✨

That’s why I’m excited to partner with Appy.AI - they’re making it ridiculously simple to build AI-powered businesses from scratch.

Some of my favorite features:

✅ No-code AI agents you can build from scratch
✅ Built-in payment processing so you can monetize from day 1
✅ Tools that get better over time & actually support your customers

Here’s the truth: AI will never replace you.

But it will replace AVERAGE work.

You’re not average though 😉

So now’s your time to get ahead of it.

Ya girl is officially a TEDx speaker!

My 10-year-old me would be so proud.

Growing up, I was extremely shy and had low-confidence.

I was born in the U.S., but struggled with English because I spoke Korean at home.

I remember attending ESL and having students make fun of me for my broken English.

I struggled a lot with my Korean American identity.

It wasn’t until recently that I’ve learned to embrace my imperfect background.

Posting on LinkedIn really changed my life.

I found my voice by sharing my story.

And in doing so, I manifested my dream of doing it on this TEDx stage.

I couldn’t have done this without my speaking coach, Aman.

The past 2 months have been nothing short of transformational.

And seeing you IRL to witness this moment is something I’ll never forget 🩵

You know you’ve changed when the real thing just feels like practice 😉

Special shoutout to my MVP, my hubby (he doesn’t want to be tagged) for being my biggest cheerleader.

You give me wings 🪽

To anyone who has big dreams:

I see you.
Keep them BIG.
Shoot for the moon 🌙,
even if you miss you’ll land on the stars ✨

Any ideas on what my talk is about? :)

And if you want to be a better, more confident public speaker, I give Aman and the Ultraspeaking team a 10/10.

I’ve learned to speak without being performative and give a talk that felt 100% authentic to me without memorizing a single line.

10 Brutal Career Truths I know at 33 (That I wish I knew at 23).

To learn these truths, It took me 10 years of:
- Pivoting 9 times
- Getting fired twice
- Landing dream jobs & 5X my salary

1. Good work isn’t good enough

- Good work alone will not accelerate your career.
- You need to advocate for yourself and share your wins.
- Optics matter more than you think.

2. Careers are anything but linear

- Careers are rarely a ladder and look more like a jungle gym.
- Embrace the journey and pivots; the destination will follow.

3. There is no such thing as a perfect job

- The grass isn’t always greener.
- Dream jobs, on paper, will have their faults (politics, toxic culture, poor leadership)
- Reset your expectations. It’s okay for a job to be a job.

4. Your boss can make or break your career

- Your boss has a greater impact on your career than you think.
- Foster a healthy relationship early and often.
- If you’re not getting support, consider leaving. You cannot change a person.

5. A paycheck isn’t worth your mental health.

- No person, job, or money is ever worth your sanity.
- You will find a better job if you allow yourself to.

6. Emotional intelligence is highly underrated

- There’s nothing soft about soft skills. EQ makes you a better leader.
- Make an effort to connect with people personally, support their work, and show up when they need you.
- Good deeds matter (you never know when you need their help).

7. Promotions and raises are out of your control

- You can be an A+ employee and still not get raises and promotions.
- These decisions happen above you, so don’t let them define you.
- Instead, focus on what you can control (ex. sharing wins publicly, asking for a raise, and doing work that matters)

8. Have performance conversations often and early

- Don’t wait until the last minute to have performance conversations.
- It’s your job to make sure you get clarity around expectations.
- Schedule monthly career syncs with your boss and establish a growth plan

9. Who you know matters more than what you know

- Your network can change your life. Talent isn’t everything.
- Build authentic relationships with influential people (your boss, their boss, leadership, cross-functional partners, clients, etc).

Career and business always revolve around PEOPLE.

10. It’s better to look for a job while you still have one

- You should always be looking for your next play.
- You will never grow by being complacent. Always be open to new opportunities.
- Have regular coffee chats, update your resume quarterly, and interview with companies to gauge your worth and sharpen your skills.

P.S. I recently hit 250,000 followers in < 2 years (thanks to each of you 💙)

My dad googled me and found out…

that i’m an ‘internet personality’ 😹

then he binged my content and read the comments (omg 😭)

In all seriousness, he said he’s proud of me.

I never thought my little side hustle of posting on LinkedIn would get me here.

It’s unreal what kind of life I got to build in such a short amount of time.

I’m still your average introverted girl who loves tech and sharing stories.

This is your sign to dream big, ask for help, and share your voice (yes, you matter).

Especially with AI completely democratizing access to info, you literally have no excuse.

If i can do it, so can you 🫶

What’s 1 thing you want to accomplish before the end of 2025?

I’ll go first:

I’m preparing for my first TEDx talk in 1 week 😱

I’m SO nervous speaking on stage and hope that at least 1 person finds value

(and that is worth it for me) 💙
Post image by Jean Kang
18 months ago, I quit my dream tech job.

I worked at Figma as a strategic program manager.

I had the most supportive boss, led impactful programs, and the culture was amazing.

So why did I leave?

Simple: I had an itch to bet on myself.

I wanted to see what it would be like to spend 40 hours investing in me > someone else.

The thing is, I could’ve chosen to juggle both (9-5 and side hustle).

But I didn’t want to.

So my husband and I decided that I give this a try for 1 year.

And it was the biggest and scariest decision I’ve EVER made.

To leave behind my 10-year career to try something new.

And here’s what happened:

→ Grew my audience to almost 400,000 across social
→ Partner with dream tech brands while traveling the world
→ Replaced my tech salary in < 1 year and on track to double EoY

I even spoke on stage at INBOUND, LinkedIn, & have a TEDx talk in 2 weeks 😱

This has been the biggest pivot yet and I’m so proud of myself.

I remember what my Dad said when I said I’m leaving my job.

His answer seriously surprised me:

“I trust you. Life is too short to have regrets” 😭

It’s okay to be afraid of the unknown (we all are).

But here’s the kicker:

“The only way to grow is to do things that are uncomfortable”

If you’re in a season of change right now, I hope you choose growth 💙

P.S. I dropped exactly how I grew from 0-250,000 followers on LinkedIn in less than 2 years (and the lessons I learned the hard way).

This is the real secret to employee success.

Set people up to win.

Sounds simple, but so many employers get this wrong.

I’ve been at companies with nonexistent training.

I literally had to fly blind and it was brutal 😭

But now teams have no excuse.

Tools like Tango make it ridiculously easy to support your team from day 1.

We're talking:

☝🏼 Create training guides in minutes, not hours
✌🏼 Build SOPs that are actually easy to find and follow
🤟🏼 Help people learn new tools without pinging 5 coworkers

When you set your people up with the right systems, here’s what happens:

→ Faster onboarding
→ More consistent processes
→ Fewer errors + support tickets
→ Happier, more confident employees 💙

Try it for yourself and help your people do their best work. https://www.tango.ai/ ✨

You can't expect people to thrive if you don’t give them the right tools, training, or support.

Set people up to win and they will 🫶

Your thoughts 💭 shape everything.

I used to tell myself:

→ “I feel like an imposter”
→ “I’m not good enough”
→ “I failed today”

And I only felt like more 💩.

Now, I tell myself this:

💙 ”I let to start over”
💙 ”I chose growth today”
💙 ”I learned something new”

Small shifts have made a huge difference.

I’ve literally manifested dream opportunities.

- Built an audience of nearly 400,000 online friends
- Partnered with dream companies (Slack, Hubspot, Adobe, Notion, and more)
- On track to hit half a million < 1.5 years of quitting tech while building my dream life

How you see yourself → how you act.

Healthy thoughts → better emotions → drive impactful actions.

So the next time your inner critic gets loud…

pause, breathe, and choose to be kind to yourself.

You’re doing enough 🩵

Remote work changed my life.

More rest, less stress.

And when you’re given real freedom + flexibility?

You work harder, feel valued, and show up better.

And with AI, I’m never going back.

That’s why I’m so excited about what Notion is building.

👀 I got a sneak peek at something they’re working on... Notion Agent 🎊

It’s your personal AI assistant that actually helps you work smarter > harder.

Here’s what it can do:

☝🏼 Build anything inside Notion

↳ Think launch trackers that consolidate GTM plans, messaging, docs all 👏🏼 in 👏🏼one 👏🏼 place (and refreshes documentation for you) 😱

✌🏼 Connects across tools

↳ Think Slack, Gmail, Drive, GitHub, etc. and syncs everything together.

🤟🏼 Automate the boring stuff

↳ It handles multi-step tasks like editing multiple pages or updating entire databases.

The best part?

It understands your work, learns your style, and follows your instructions to a TEE 🧑🏻‍🍳

AI’s not here AI replace you.

It’s here to augment your human superpower

AI is changing the future of work.

If I wanted to land a role in Product (without the PM title),

here’s exactly what I’d do 👇🏼

Build a case study in Miro in under 1 hour.

1/ Pick a product you love but would improve
2/ Map the user journey directly in Miro
3/ Drop in real feedback from Reddit, App Store, or user forums
4/ Prioritize problems with Miro Tables + AI clustering
5/ Create a scrappy prototype using “Create with AI”
6/ Package it all in Miro Slides + hit publish ✨

Now you’re not just saying “I want to be a PM.”

You’re showing how you think like one (with proof)

Miro makes it ridiculously easy to go from idea → insight → prototype

(even if you’ve never worked on a product team before.)

✨ I’ve been loving how intuitive and addictive it is to build features and workflows.

Try it out and tag me. I’d love to see what you build 😉

18 months ago, life looked wildly different.

I was working in tech, driving impactful programs.

But I felt an itch to do something more.

So I took a leap of faith:

Quit and figure my sh*t out. Fast forward ⏭

Year 1: $200K and 100,000 people in this community.

Year 2: $300K in 6 months and nearly 400,000 online friends 🫶

I’ve spoken on stages, traveled the world, and worked with dream brands.

I chose an unconventional path for one thing: freedom.

Choosing freedom meant choosing me.

I found a kind of freedom no job could offer.

It turns out you can build a business that supports the life you want.

The crazy part?

I’m just getting started ✨

I have so much energy to build, connect, and share value to all of you 🫶

Grateful for Kajabi for making it extremely simple (and fun) to monetize your expertise.

I love their all-in-one platform to deliver high quality coaching experiences with flexible ways to work together.

I’m a big fan of the fully customizable coaching portal and super robust analytics so I can see my top offers, customers, AND payment methods 😉

Leadership isn’t a title.

It’s how you make people feel.

My assistant said this to me the other day 💙

“When I talk to managers, I get the feeling they're important.

When I talk to leaders, I get the feeling I'm important.”

And said this is how I make her feel 🥹 (best compliment ever)

Here’s what I’ve learned about leading with kindness

(and why it’s often your secret weapon for getting ahead especially if you’re eyeing a promotion)

☝🏼 Create psychological safety

↳ People can only thrive when they feel safe to speak up, ask questions, and be themselves without fear of judgment.
↳ Avoid interrupting or dismissing ideas, even if they aren’t fully formed yet
↳ Ask for feedback, “How can I support you better?” or “Do you need more clarification?”

✌🏼 Turn mistakes into learning moments

↳ Focus on “What can we learn?” instead of “Who’s at fault?”
↳ Provide specific guidance on how to avoid the same mistake (ex. “Here’s what to do next time when X happens. What do you think?”

🤟🏼 Give meaningful appreciation & recognition

↳ Get to know how each individual WANTS to be recognized (via DMs, team meeting, more flexibility etc)
↳ Create rituals, like “Win of the Week,” to make appreciation part of the culture

🖖🏼 Care deeply for their well-being

↳ Check in with team members beyond work - ask, “How are you really doing?”
↳ Normalize taking breaks by doing it yourself and encouraging others to do the same (”I don’t expect you to work after hours or on weekends”)
↳ Reinforce that they should focus on their well being > work. Say, “Hey, I know you’re sick. Cancel your meetings and transfer any open work. I’ll handle it.”

Leadership isn’t about power. It’s about people.

P.S. I’m giving away my tech resume for $0 for 48 hours.

It’s the exact resume I used to land dream offers at LinkedIn, Meta and Figma (link below)
📣 Employees who feel appreciated will always do more than expected.

Spoiler alert:

If they’re not growing, they’re GOING ✌🏼

I’ve left jobs where I felt undervalued, underutilized, & unsupported.

And by choosing to leave, I found myself in healthier workplaces where I was:

✅ Supported by my manager

✅ Recognized for my contributions

✅ Treated with respect and kindness

✅ Encouraged to take time off without the guilt
__

☝🏼1. Be personally helpful

↳ Forward a helpful article, intro them to someone who can help, or share a tool that made your life easier.

Example: “Hey, this podcast made me think of you. It has great advice for client conversations!”

✌🏼2. Connect with, not above, your people

↳ Open up about your own challenges. Ask for feedback you’ll actually use.

Example: “I’ve been feeling stretched lately too. Curious what's one thing I could do better to support you this week?”

🤟🏼3. Get curious about their life outside of work

↳ Ask about their weekend, their dog, their side project. Actually remember the details.

Example: “How was Max’s first soccer game? You looked so proud in that photo!”

🖖🏼4. Acknowledge their people

↳ Celebrate their partners, families, even friends who support them.

Example: “We’d love to see your partner at the team BBQ. Would they be open to joining us?”

🖐🏼5. Be radically transparent

↳ Honest, kind feedback beats sugarcoating every time. Truthful & transparent feedback is a gift.

↳ Try the SBI method: Situation, Behavior, Impact

Example: “In today’s meeting (S), when you interrupted Jane (B), it shifted the room's tone (I). Can we be more mindful of that next time?”

Happy employees make the best employees. Repost if you agree 🙏🏼

AI has fundamentally changed my life.

It’s changed how I work, create content, and build a business without burning out.

AI unlocked new ways of operating that give me back time for the work that *actually* matters.

(and honestly, stuff that’s more fun ✨)

We’re officially in a new era of business.

One where teams can scale effectively & meaningfully by leaning into tech instead of fighting it.

One of the tools I’m genuinely obsessed with is Slack.

It made me a better collaborator / operator when I worked in tech AND how I build + lead today as a creator / founder.

This Thursday, I’m partnering with THE Slack to host a conversation on how leaders are using AI to help teams collaborate better and work smarter together.

I’ll be joined by an incredible group of leaders who are actually doing this work every. single. day.

↳ Jeff Avallon, Chief Strategy Officer & Board Member, Caraway Home
↳ Allison Capaldi, Head of Brand, Zeck
↳ Peter Stoltz, Head of CIO Office, reMarkable

They’ll be sharing what’s working, what’s not, and how teams are using AI to level up their work.

Plus…

You’ll get a sneak peek at the all-new *Slackbot* and why it’s quickly becoming everyone’s favorite AI work teammate 🤖

📺 Tune into the LIVE this Thursday, Jan 15 at 9:00 AM PST / 12:00 PM EST

So tell me…who’s coming?

And what questions do you have about AI, business growth, strategy, or how you’re using Slack inside your team?

Drop them below ⬇️ I’d love to bring them into the conversation!

OpenAI is coming for Google Chrome 🥊

And I got my popcorn ready 🍿

Sam Altman just announced Atlas, an AI browser with ChatGPT built in 🤯

but there’s more.

Here’s what you need to know:

☝🏼 Unlocks a whole new way of working

→ You can now research, shop, and use ChatGPT without leaving the browser.
→ The window pops up in your sidebar without switching screens.
→ You can summarize long articles and recap YouTube videos on the same page w.o copy and paste.

✌🏼 It finally has memory

While I love AI tools, I hate how context gets lost between apps.

Now, ChatGPT memory follows me in the browser.

Why this matters:

→ suggestions are smarter
→ searches and results feel more personal
→ no need to retrain apps on my tone, voice, & previous search history 🙌🏼

🤟🏼 It can take action for you (without building an agent)

With agent mode, I can ask it to:

→ book reservations
→ add items to cart
→ research products
→ automate routine tasks

This might be my favorite feature.

I love that I can just ask for something and it gets done 👏🏼

It’s about time we cut down on tool overload and let them actually co-exist.

Yes, there are security concerns.

Yes, adoption will take time.

But I’m hopeful and excited.

What do you think 🙃?
