“IIT Kanpur student get 4 crore CTC“

IITs are considered as few of those colleges with smartest of people. (Ofcourse smartness is subjective)

There's one thing I have noticed about attracting talent and smart people. The places aren't great in itself, it's the people who make it great.

Top college and top companies attract talented people, and it's the talented people who make that college or company great.

It's a nice loop which compounds with time due to alumni network.

Recently I got a chance to visit IIT Bombay and had an amazing time asking coding questions to IITians in exchange of cash prize 💯

If you are getting rejected at jobs do this ⬇️

1) Give yourself a reality check

Be honest with yourself. Have you prepared well enough for the job you are applying to ?
Is your resume good enough and relevant to the job role ?

If the above questions have a positive answer then let's move to the next step.

2) Where you are applying to jobs

Are you applying to official job portals or through job search platforms ?
If both, then see how much conversion rate is working out for you and then proceed.

LinkedIn is helpful for job search but very few companies see the job applications you put on LinkedIn. They mostly hire from their own company portals.

3) Network Network Network

Get reviews about your resume and make it better with each iteration. This will be beneficial for you in a way that you can get real guidance from industry professionals and change accordingly.

Secondly, a good network will definitely help you in getting more opportunities.

Last but not the least, off campus job search is tiring and especially during Recession it is tougher to crack one.

My recommendation will be to throw darts everyday and one day for sure, you'll hit the target 🎯

📍It doesn't matter even if you are from a tier-3 college.
📍It doesn't matter if you are working at service based Companies.
📍It doesn't matter if your first company isn't your dream company.

You can still make the move and play your cards right to land your dream job.

Recently I interviewed a person from a Chemical engineering degree.

She started her career with Tata Consultancy Services at 3.1 LPA and now she is working at Target as a senior software engineer at a very good package.

We covered her journey in a podcast and the link to it can be found in comment section below 👇🏻

I had two offers in hand by cure.fit (cult.fit) & Microsoft both were good and here are some parameters I used to compare the two offers :

1) Pay range

Yes salary is a crucial element when you have couple of offers in hand. Do pay attention to vesting of stocks, basic pay, and additional bonuses and not just the base pay!!! Check everything!

2) Career in long term

How the promotional hierarchy works in that company. Talk to employees of the company and try to dig out information about promotions and hierarchy. Check whether your career goals are aligned or not. ( if you don’t know what your career goals are it’s fine! Most of us don’t :p )

3) Work Life balance

Last yet most important point is of work life balance. I had some aspirations outside of software development as well, such as vlogging & content creation.
So, you need a company which appreciates your personal space and let you explore outside work.

(Fun fact, Microsoft’s official account recently recognised me at various occasions for content creation 🙈)

Do take care of these 3 pointers in mind while choosing between offers.

Till then, keep smiling 😁

I start my day with recording videos for Code in 10.

Then I get ready for office, go to Microsoft campus, work and then get back to gym or maybe play badminton.

Then, I come back to my room, work for my main channel or record Podcasts or have meetings with really knowledgeable people.

That's how my day usually goes.
Numerous times I have skipped parties, meet-ups & hanging out with friends.

Whenever I get some extra time, I make sure I am utilising it in a proper way. Not working, but having fun.

We don't live to work, but work to live.
Work is a part of life, make sure you don't make it your life and have fun at appropriate times.

I am also improving this day-by-day and I advice you folks to do that too ❣️

NVIDIA is growing rapidly But do you even know what’s the reason ?

Growth of Nvidia recently is highly linked to booming demand for generative AI.

Nvidia’s GPUs, crucial for AI and supercomputers, have become indispensable for companies like OpenAI, Tesla, and Meta.

At the AI Summit on October 24, Jensen Huang announced that Nvidia Corp will supply AI processors to RIL's 1 GW under-construction data centre in Gujarat.

He added that he will also join hands with Indian tech giants Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Wipro to “deepen partnerships in growing Indian market“.

Nvidia will supply its Blackwell AI processor for the Reliance data centre while its Hopper AI chips will be supplied to large-scale data centres of firms like Yotta Data Services and Tata Communications.

Also we are having an Upskilling wali Diwali on Algoprep ❤️🚀
AlgoprepX is Available at just ₹3 per day! 🚀 ( DSA + Frontend + Backend + LLD + OS + DBMS + OOPS ) Everything at this price!

Chandan is an inspiration for all the tier-3 students out there. He continues to inspire all people working in service based Companies and those who want to switch to product based firms.

The best part about his story is, he is hard working and have shared all of his learnings through this podcast.

Software engineering is not for everyone.

There is a consistent pressure on students to get a high paying job, that they torget software engineering role from day 1.

But this is not the only option.

There is nothing wrong in becoming a Data Analyst,
There is nothing wrong in doing a Marketing role
There is nothing wrong in working in Core jobs.

You must realise that Software Engineering is just another career and there are equally important career options.

Keep hustling and if you don’t find software engineering interesting, don’t be afraid to change your path.

As we are moving back to normal after 2 years of covid waves, one thing i would recommend to all the college students is to go on trips with your friends 💯.

You get to learn a hell lot of things.
- As you are on a budget, you learn the value of each rupee you spend and you choose your stay and travel wisely.
- You make hell lot of memories, and “Yahi pal to yaad ayenge 😉”
- You learn how to schedule things and plan. You might also learn how to act spontaneously.
- And most importantly you have a lot of fun!

This was me with my friends in 2019. We went to McLeod Ganj, with a budget of 5-6k.
Stayed there for 3 days! Went on a trek, did camping and had a lot of fun! Made so many great memories ❤️

You can share your experience in the comments 💯

Rishi Sunak becoming British PM is indeed a moment of pride for all of us Indians but it shouldn't distract you from the real problem in front of you.

FAANG companies have lost a lot of their market cap in past few months.

The recession is probably coming and layoffs will be a common term you'll listen even in top product based Companies across the globe.

Funding winter, loss in stocks and unemployment would be a new problem in front of us and it's time we suit ourselves up and fight that smartly.

Think in months & decades, not in days or weeks. Applicable for job, investment and stocks.

What is your thoughts about this? Share in the comments.

Now you can do Btech CSE at IIT Kanpur without JEE Advanced!

If you have topped these international olympiads in Maths & Informatics, you’ll get a direct entry!

- 3 seats for Toppers from INMO/IMO
- 3 seats for Toppers from INOI/IOI

But let me break the delusion here to save gullible students from wasting their time on olympiads instead of JEE.

Maths olympiads are mostly cracked by JEE Rankers only.
Unfortunately, some of the top coaching institutes in Kota pick up students at early stage of class 8-10 and then train them dedicatedly for the olympiads.

Even toppers of INOI are seen wearing a green colored tshirt. Iykyk ;)

It will take some time for non-pedigree students to crack such international olympiads but this move is very encouraging ✅

Read more about this here: https://lnkd.in/gAKuqpeg

My opinion:
Focus on JEE Main+Advanced more than olympiads. There are only 6 seats after being world/india’s best. Keep that in mind :)
