Yesterday I announced that I'm stepping back from my operating role at Airbnb. The highlight of the last 14 years was getting to work with so many talented team members. I hope we inspired and challenged each other along the way. The culture you helped forge is thriving and remains one of the places to do the best work of your life. Did you know in 2019 there were 395,945 applications and of those 550 were hired? That's a 0.1% acceptance rate. Makes Harvard's 5% rate look like a safety school! Here's my note to all of you past and present who made it through the insanely difficult hiring process to make up the incredible team and alumni of Airbnb.
