Smart minds don’t compete with you - they elevate you.

7 Signs You Thrive Around Smarter People:

These traits show you value growth over ego.

1. You see smarter people as opportunities to learn.

↳ You appreciate what they bring to the table.
↳ Every conversation is a chance to expand your thinking.

2. You ask more questions than you give answers.

↳ You know there’s always something new to learn.
↳ Curiosity helps you grow faster than pretending you know it all.

3. You celebrate other people’s success.

↳ You know their success doesn’t reduce yours.
↳ When others win, everyone benefits.

4. You’re not afraid to admit when you don’t know something.

↳ Owning what you don’t know is a sign of strength, not weakness.
↳ It opens the door to gaining new knowledge.

5. You actively seek out people who challenge you.

↳ You aren’t interested in staying comfortable.
↳ You grow by pushing your limits, and smarter people help you do that.

6. You embrace feedback, even when it’s hard to hear.

↳ You see feedback as a tool for improvement, not a personal attack.
↳ Honest input helps you refine your skills and get better.

7. You give credit where it’s due.

↳ You recognise the value of contributions from others.
↳ Real leadership is about lifting others.

Chris Williamson is one of the most famous people on the internet.

It took me 4 years to convince him to post on LinkedIn.

4. Years.

Well, it's finally happened and in 30 days we hit:

- 1,000,000+ impressions
- Multiple posts over 100K views
- 6,000+ new followers (+20%)

Our strategy was designed to make noise.

Start posting quietly after years of inactivity?

That would’ve been a missed opportunity.

Instead, we opened with a line fitting for the world’s most professional platform:

ā€œHello LinkedIn - daddy’s home.ā€

Credit Luke Betts for that one.

On a feed full of polished formatting and productivity tips, sometimes the best move is to zag when everyone else zigs.

It's been a pleasure working closely with the Neutonic team. Extra caffeine for this launch has been very good timing šŸ˜…

The best in the world move different.

Nobody has an eye for taste better than Chris Williamson and that's why he's where he is today.

P.S. My first live cohort kicks off in just 4 days. Inside, I’ll be teaching the exact systems and strategies we’ve used at Amplify to build world-class personal brands.

I just received the craziest DM.

"Joe, I enjoyed watching your video on personal brand development on an Alaska Airlines flight yesterday."

I replied to Ashwani thanking him.

I presumed he'd downloaded a YouTube video of mine to watch on the plane?

Or maybe he was browsing my content on airplane wifi?

That would've been cool enough.

Then he corrects me:

"No! Joe! Alaska Airlines has about half dozen LinkedIn Learning videos on their inflight entertainment platform. You are one of them!"

What???

I can't believe it.

I remember getting up at 5am to head into London to film that LinkedIn Learning course.

The anticipation I felt.
Only having time to read the script once.
The countless takes with my producer Jesse McGrane to get the course right...

Now being watched on a plane?

This is what happens when you put yourself out there.

And to tell you the truth...

Having a video of mine watched 35,000 feet in the air isn't even the craziest opportunity that's come from my personal brand.

Next time you're on a flight, please check if they're showing LinkedIn Learning videos!

I really want a picture of this 🤣

What's your biggest content fail?

I once filmed a 1-hour training video and my camera focused on a plant pot.

Rate this fail out of 10 and comment yours.

I want some laughs to start the week 🤣

I’ve generated 31,600,000 impressions on LinkedIn.

If I wanted to achieve the same results faster, here’s exactly what I’d do šŸ‘‡

First, let me set the scene. I’ve:

- Moved continents
- Built a business from scratch
- Created a network that’s completely changed my life

And all of that started from showing up online - consistently and intentionally.

The results you dream of don’t come from chasing virality - they come from building something that compounds.

If I could go back and do it again, there’s one tool I’d use from Day 1:

Stanley (Your Content Coach)

Stanley helps you:
āœ… Write content that actually sounds like you
āœ… Get instant feedback and new ideas for posts
āœ… Build a daily writing habit with accountability built in

If I’d had Stanley when I started, I’d have saved weeks of my life and grown twice as fast.

I’ll be honest - I was offered an advisory role (with equity) for another upcoming AI writing tool.

But I turned it down because I believe in Stanley that much.

The team at Stan are world-class - shipping improvements every day to make Stanley more powerful for your brand.

BIG NEWS šŸš€

To celebrate my partnership with Stanley I’ve got you something…

Comment ā€œSTANLEYā€ below and I’ll DM you an exclusive 7-DAY free trial link.

+ I’ll share with you my current workflow. You know what to do šŸ‘‡

It feels pretty cool to get sales in your sleep.

I'm not going to lie.

I've achieved what online gurus said was the holy grail:

"Build an asset."
"Make money while you sleep."

Well… here’s the truth nobody tells you:

- I’ve neglected my health, exercise, and sleep during this launch.
- Every Stripe notification is just repaying the opportunity cost of going all in.
- Building a new arm of a business incurs a lot of additional costs.
- I’ve done too many 14-hour days back-to-back - and I'm feeling the effects.

My 2025 has been the definition of work happening under the iceberg.

And only now are the results finally surfacing - but it’s still just the beginning.

Here's the paradox of launching something new šŸ‘‡

It feels like you’ve trained all year for the Olympics…
only to realise the event you arrived for was the start line, not the finish.

All that effort just to get in the game.

And if you don’t keep pushing?
You risk ending up with nothing to show for it.

Building, marketing, and selling a new product as a small team is a massive lift.

If I wasn’t in love with what we’ve built,
and if I didn't care so deeply about our students,
I’d probably be questioning if it was worth it.

We’ve built something people genuinely need.
Now the work is making sure they get to experience it.

My takeaway:

šŸ‘‰ Create what you wish existed.
šŸ‘‰ Pour every inch of your soul into making it world-class.
šŸ‘‰ Give it everything you’ve got - so no matter the outcome, you can look back with pride.

Because otherwise… what’s the point?
