If you were to ask me how often you should post, I’d say “follow the Mom Rule.”Yes, I’m literally talking about my mom.
If you’re lucky enough to still have one, I’d like to think we all strive to check in with our moms as often as possible.
Sometimes life gets in the way, but we hope to catch up a few times a week.
Now what does this have to do with LinkedIn?
You posted this morning.
You posted this afternoon.
You posted one more time before bed.
I think you’re great.
I know you provide value.
I appreciate your effort.
But I love my mom more than you.
As much as I love her, I don’t need updates from her 3 times a day.
So when you do so, it’s a bit...much.
But more importantly, as soon as you add a new post, you kill the potential reach of the prior post.
Everyone has their own way, I respect it.
But the Mom Rule reminds me to post more intentionally...
And that I should probably call and see how she’s doing. 📞😄
