I wouldn't call this a dream come true because I hadn't even dreamt of getting these opportunities! The fact that an educator gets such opportunities truly makes me feel so grateful and thankful.

I can't even remember when everything I gifted my Bhaiya started being related to Dhoni – the T-shirts, bottles, mobile covers, rakhis, gifts... everything has been Dhoni-themed. We have celebrated Dhoni's birthday every year, celebrated him so much!

I'm obviously a huge Dhoni fan, but my Bhaiya is a worshiper. I'm not even exaggerating when I say he worships Dhoni. His obsessive craze for Dhoni sir has all led to this, and I feel like the luckiest sister since I was able to make his dream come true. This is the best gift I could have ever given him.

I don't think I can explain the thousands of emotions we felt today. Bhaiya actually talked to Dhoni, got his jersey signed, and we even got pictures with him! It was a 'pinch me' day!!

Thank you so much for all the love and support. None of this would be possible without you.

P.S. If someone told me even a few months ago that I would meet both legends of cricket - Dhoni and Virat Kohli, I would have probably laughed! Keep working hard. Incredible things will happen for sure!

Last time I switched jobs Vs this time when I switched jobs-

Last time, I got job at a good, well-known company - Intuit and I got a considerable raise. I didn’t even consider applying anywhere else.
So, I didn’t bother much about the product I would be working on - I was sure I would get to learn something.
I didn’t ask much about the team or work-life balance since I was ready to work day and night and prepared to face any challenges. (I was just lucky because I ended up with great team!!)

This time, I knew much more about the industry and I had options.
I was sure I wanted to work in a different domain, and I wanted to work on a product I could relate to.
I am a YouTuber as well, so I can’t work on weekends or late nights (once in a while in need is, of course, okay but you get my point). So, I really cared about work-life balance and team connection.
Being more aware now, I also considered factors like my future growth and the company’s growth as well.

As we advance in our careers, our priorities and outlook will change.
One suggestion to freshers is not to judge anyone and just do what works best for them. Maturity is in understanding and accepting this.

Got the opportunity to take 20+ campus interviews last month. It was my first experience with campus hiring and I interviewed students from so many colleges - my college, colleges I once wanted to be part of and a few colleges I hadn’t heard off.

I wish it was all happening offline (visiting your college as an interviewer for the first time is an amazing feeling yeah?)

Here is how my experience of interviewing freshers is different from interviewing lateral hires -
I always try to make time to make them feel comfortable. If I see the candidate is tensed up, I talk a bit. This happens very less with candidates with experience.
Before asking questions related to CS fundamentals, I always ask which subjects are you comfortable with.
We have to access freshers not just on the basis of DS Algo, but also their fundamentals, projects, communication skills and attitude if possible.

My personal opinion based on experience is that freshers are more in touch with DS Algo than the lateral hires and they sometimes solve problems I wouldn’t expect people with experience to solve.

There were few candidates who were just exceptionally well, I realised how the level of competition is increasing every year (it was much lesser during my campus hiring). I was so impressed by some that I started feeling I should spend more time working on my skills!

I also got to work with many other interviewers from our company (there are usually 2 interviewers in each round). I am so thankful for the exposure I got.

The entire experience has taught me that interviewing is an art. I say it many times and I say it again, not all good software engineers are good interviewers.

I know how huge responsibility interviewing is. I remember everyone who has interviewed me and I have been lucky to be interviewed by some amazing people. I hope these 20+ people feel the same about me!

I hope I use the learnings from this experience to create even better content, become a better interviewer and a mentor! There’s always so much to learn from people around us😊

PS- You can see gift we received for being part of hiring in my story❤️
