Meeting you stopped me in my tracks running to catch a plane in Atlanta. We spoke, shook heads in disbelief at where our society was (even before today), and said we would continue to serve in every way we could.

You encouraged the push for progress in a way no one can do justice in the way your iconic and legendary servitude has benefited our people.

Thank you for your contributions, vision and steadfast commitment to us.

Your impact is larger than life. Your op-Ed published today, as you’re laid to rest, reminds us to answer the calling of our hearts and stand up for what we truly believe in. And, we will.

Rest In Peace and Power, Congressman John Lewis 🙏🏾
