Since isolation began, my neighbour on the left at home has:

✏️ Delivered colouring books for my son.
🌳 Thrown a roll of fake grass over the fence so I have somewhere comfortable to sunbathe.
🍫 Sent a bag of toffees over for us.
🍰 Left homemade cakes on the doorstep.

My neighbour on the right has:

🧸 Made play dough for my son.
💨 Bought my son a bubble gun.
🖨 Printed out activities for my boy from her school.

My neighbour to the back has:

🚗 Washed my car.
🔨 Fixed my garden gate.

One of my good friends has:

🍫 Delivered Easter chocolate.
🥛 Dropped off milk whenever he passes.
🍸 Supplied pink gins in tins as a treat for me.

Never have I lived somewhere where I’ve experienced so much kindness and generosity, and I don’t know what I’ve ever done to deserve it, but I am so very grateful. What beauty this horror is bringing out in the world.

What positive experiences have you had since isolation started?

I had an accidental nap this afternoon and woke up to my phone ringing. It was my solicitors, with a COMPLETION DATE for my HOUSE! 🤩🤩🤩🤩

I raced to school, squeezed my little boy 'til his blue eyes bulged, and we both squealed with happiness, because FINALLY we have a home of our very own, that NO ONE can kick us out of.

(Unless I can't pay the mortgage but let's not ruin the post)

On 26th March we'll officially become residents of the north(ish) of England, and our exciting new chapter can begin.

Here's to new beginnings and finally laying down some roots where we belong, and in our dream house!

And a HUGE shoutout to Sam Fox at Warrington Mortgage Centre for working tirelessly to make this possible for us!

Out of office is on.
Content is scheduled.
24 hours of travelling complete and we’re finally in Bali.

Now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of my labour with the reason I do it all.

❤️❤️

Thanks for making this all possible, LinkedIn friends ☺️

(And for the Neggy Nigels, I won’t be posting endless holiday pics here…they’re all on insta @leadoeslinkedin)
How to avoid sexual assault and murder:

✅ Keep a whistle or a personal alarm with you at all times. If you think you might be about to rape someone, use the whistle/alarm to alert people.

✅ If you’re walking at night, stick to well lit areas so you can’t secretly murder people.

✅ Be careful how much alcohol you drink, it can make you angry and violent and you might end up raping or murdering someone.

✅ Avoid going out alone at night. Friends don’t let friends rape or murder people.

✅ Always carry your keys in your hand when walking home. That way, if you’re tempted to murder someone you can run home quickly and lock yourself inside.

Follow these simple steps and the world will be a much safer place for all.

A woman is killed by a man in the UK once every three days.

97% of murders in the UK are committed by men.

It’s time to stop blaming the victims and start focusing on how we stop the perpetrators.

At what point does a joke go too far?

Ariel Lee joked about wanting a mug with my mug on (madness).

So Heather Lawson-Bradfield 🍀 sent her one as a surprise.

Ariel posted a selfie of herself drinking from my mug mug.

And now I have a mug with Ariel’s mug drinking from a mug with my mug on it.

Are you still with me?

What’s the point of this post?

As a solo parent, you carry the weight of your world on your shoulders.

It’s just you; the late night feeds, the scraped knees, the bills, the eleventy billion snack requests per day, and the million other day to day demands that come with growing a healthy, happy little human.

It’s the same when you’re a solopreneur and your business is your demanding baby.

Client issues, admin, invoices, technical meltdowns, emotional meltdowns…it’s all you.

And you can outsource…but no one’s quite as good as mum when it comes to fixing things.

Or so we like to think 🤔

But the best thing I’ve learned along the way is to trust my growing support team.

They don’t always do things quite the way I would, and sometimes I have to step in, but mostly…

…they’re better than I am. More efficient than I am. And can offer fresh input and perspectives that I didn’t think of.

If you’re a solopreneur trying to do it all by yourself…you’re never going to grow, and you’ll burn out trying.

Learn to share the load. It’ll be the best thing you do and you’ll wonder why it took you so long to take the leap.

Who’s supporting your growth? Let’s share some gratitude 🌈 ⬇️

PS thanks to the team around me that help turn my wild ideas into reality. I’m nothing without you ❤️

I dialed 999 today when I saw a man on a bridge high over the motorway.

He was alone.
He was leaning over the rails.
40ft above 70mph traffic.
There was nowhere I could stop.
My stomach lurched thinking the worst.

He could have just been going for a walk. He might have had no grave intentions. But my gut said “Call, just in case“.

The police took it very seriously, calling me back immediately for more details on location, description, etc.

It terrifies me that we now live in a society where suicide is so common that my concern wasn't considered overreacting.

I'll never know what happened next, but for any of you out there who might feel like you're alone:

Please stay off the bridge. Brighter days will always come.

And for everyone else; check on your friends - even the strong ones.

Not everybody has the same definition of ‘professional’.

This week, I’ve booked multiple coaching clients after responding to their initial enquiries with GIFs and cheeky humour.

I’ve also taken on three new transcription clients who found me here and trust me to do a good job from what they’ve seen of me.

I’ve also had an enquiry from a HUGE international company about providing in-house training, because the client has seen me on here for months and likes my ‘refreshing’ approach.

And, finally, I created and sent out my first ever group training programme, and as a result I’ve booked my first company in-house training (3 months ahead of my goal)! And the programme was full of my weird sense of humour, which the client loves.

So, the lesson?

Let your weirdness hang out for all to see, so that the right people can find you, and will like you just the way you are.

Weird IS wonderful 🌈

Yesterday, I found out that someone I trusted and considered a good friend, had been betraying me for over a year.

We worked together.
I trusted her with parts of my business.
I recommended her and supported her work.

But behind my back she was telling people she’s just using me for clout and attempting to alienate friends from me.

Not only had she betrayed me, but many others she had worked with before me, and who found her through me.

And it’s only because we all started comparing notes that the full, horrible truth is coming out.

It cuts. Really fkn deep. And I hate admitting that.

It makes me question everything and trust nobody.

Sometimes all I want to do is give up and disappear. Go back to being invisible and anonymous where it’s safe. Where there can be no ulterior motives of the people who get close to me.

Not really sure why I’m writing this but maybe it’ll help me to process the hurt and the stupidity I feel for not seeing through her fakery.

People can be really shit sometimes.
If this is how you think you’ll get clients on LinkedIn…

… we need to talk.

This has been the hardest lesson I’ve learnt over the past two years as my business and ambitions have flourished.

🌈 Not everyone wants to see you win.

🌈People you never expected to lose won’t understand you or support you.

🌈And it’s okay to leave them behind.

What advice can you share for others experiencing this?

#truth #keepgoing
This is the worst take I’ve ever seen on female business ownership.

Women don’t owe anyone make up
We don’t need fancy clothes
We don’t need to be slim, feminine, wear heels or skirts

We need to be smart enough to learn a skill
To be driven enough to share it
And confident enough to monetise the two

You can do it in a hoodie and trainers
With a fresh, clean face
Or a power suit and a full face of slap
You get to choose how you show up
And you show up best as YOURSELF

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
Especially boss babes suffering from chronic internalised misogyny.

Don’t you love it when LADbible Group take something entirely out of context.

“Woman is THRILLED to have new name that includes 🌈 after amusing battle with her favourite social platform”

There, fixed it for ya.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is the gift that keeps on giving.
