I firmly believe that you are a product of your decisions and not of your conditions. Henry Ford once said that if you think you can, or think you can't, either way you're right. It's been my favorite quote since I was a little girl.
Many people don't know this, but I was once homeless, alone, and 17 years old. Through the kindness of others to give me a place to live, grit, and hard work, I graduated high school. It took many years of working full time and going to night school to finish my degree. I pushed myself to work hard for my expertise and on how to build a network. I earned everything in my life, and I wouldn't be who I am today without these life lessons. I did not become jaded because of my hard life; I became someone who wants to pay it forward. I'm proud of who I am and no one can take that away from me.
Here is my note to all those who feel hopeless. Never give up. NEVER. If you believe that there are things you can or cannot do, that will be your truth. Believe in yourself; believe in others. Do good in the world and watch how by serving others, you will see an even greater return. I believe in you. #asklindsay
