She had a six year gap in her employment. She was raising her children she said. Most recruiters saw her as ‘liability’. Just one saw her potential in her. She turns out to be outstanding professional. Glad we made that call.#OfficeTruths
A good manager does not compare his team members, knowing that each one has unique strengths that others don’t possess.#LifeTruths

The printed copy of – ‘The Heart of Work’ reached me today. A wonderful surprise ! A big thanks to all my friends and supporters on this platform. A big shout out to Sachin Sharma, Executive Editor of HarperCollins Publishers. Special thanks to those who egged me on to write a book. The 70 short stories, no more than a four minute read, I hope, will appeal across all career levels and generations. Feel good stories.

All proceeds of the book that I receive will go to charity.
Please pre-order your copy at @ https://amzn.to/3gzQllc

Happy Reading !! #work #career #storiesthatmatter
The best thing at work is to have a reporting manager who cheers your success as much as s(he) would stand by you in your failure. #OfficeTruths
A manager who pretends to support you is more difficult to deal with than the one who you know does not.# OfficeTruths
I have learnt it the hard way that a quick and honest ‘no’ as a response is much better than a slow sugar coated ‘yes’ that builds anticipation but leads nowhere. #OfficeTruth
Keep away from those who engage in office politics and gossip. While it may give them a quick high, there will be a low coming their way equally fast. #OfficeTruths
You never forget those who stood by you in the toughest of times, as you hold them in thankfulness and gratitude. #OfficeTruths
When your manager gives you an assignment and adds sarcastically that you were not the first choice for it, seize it with both hands and don’t feel let down. It is a great opportunity to alter perceptions. #OfficeTruths
At work, more people are starved of appreciation and recognition than compensation. Good leaders provide this much needed food of happiness and in a timely way. #OfficeTruths.
We all make mistakes. The worry about the consequences of the mistake, and about review by the manager is more tortuous than the actual mistake.#OfficeTruths
Some managers have a great ability of expressing respect and care in the words they choose in their mail communication. Some sound so rude that it hurts. The former turn out to be leaders and the latter wonder why they got left behind in their careers. #OfficeTruths
Sometimes our managers feel they determine our careers. Deep down, we know they really don’t, for this is a world of choices. #OfficeTruths
The sure way to lose somebody is to have them feel that they are not treated fairly. An open dialogue helps immensely. #OfficeTruths
Dear Recruiter, when you tell a candidate ‘we will come back to you’, please do so. It’s not only your reputation at stake but that of the company too. And to the candidate, their future. #OfficeTruths
Happy Teacher's Day:

There have been many teachers in my life. And many added each day. When a lift-man smiles at me, I learn what it is to bring cheer to another. Thank you sir. When a woman sings a soulful song, I learn what it is to stir the feelings of joy in me. Thank you dear woman. The driver who follows the rules ( a rare breed of such teachers though), a mechanic who burnishes his car to a shine, the cobbler who smiles at the way his interweave stitches has made a difference to the sole of a shoe, all are my teachers.
And then there are my many friends. When they stand in the hospital all day and night waiting for someone to get well, they teach me what it is to be human. My queen, my wife, of course, from whom i learn what it is to stay grounded. My parents, my formal teachers, and many more - the list is endless. Thank you all - a sincere thank you for teaching me what it is to be on earth and be a person who should be in the quest as a seeker and learner. Happy Teacher's Day. #LifeTruths
A good leader focuses on retaining all members of his team not just the top Talent. He knows that in the team members are the Talent of the future waiting to be discovered. #OfficeTruths
Managers teach us to be better professionals. The good ones for sure, and the not so good ones even more so. #OfficeTruths.
Dear Manager, don’t surprise a team member with a sudden separation notice. It would shatter their confidence, and more, they will never ever forgive or forget you.
Frequent feedback and coaching is recommended. #OfficeTruths
