💡Motion Guidelines For Product Designers
Motion brings meaning and a sense of life to the experience. It should be purposeful, intuitive, and seamless. It should help users be more productive and never slow them down.
✔ Purposeful animation. Every motion should have a clear purpose, whether it's to draw attention, indicate a transition, provide feedback, or enhance storytelling.
✔ Right timing. Good motion design uses timing and pacing effectively to create a rhythm that feels natural and engaging.
✔ Smooth transitions. Seamless transitions between states or scenes help maintain the flow of information and keep the audience engaged.Â
✔ Consistency. Consistent use of motion elements, such as easing curves and animation styles, creates a cohesive experience that reinforces brand identity and improves usability.
✔ Accessible design. Good design offers options to reduce motion for users who are sensitive to it and ensures that key information is accessible even when animations are disabled.
