Indian #banks are outstanding, can't believe how terribly run international banks are.

How in today's day and age can it take days to do a simple bank transfer and cost so much?

Full credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Nandan Nilekani, #Indian banks and everyone who helped create this ecosystem.
Bear markets are significantly more dramatic than bull, if this bull run has lasted longer than usual and vix(volatility) is at a ridiculously low level, don't get carried away...

Everything is cyclical, if there's one thing that doing this every day for 19 years has taught me, it's more about not losing too much in bad times and not making the most during the good times.

Why is #Microsoft teams so unnecessarily complicated, #Google meet, #Zoom etc., are so much simpler to use.

Thoughts?
A 70 per cent decline in Tesla's stock price could allude to a change in the preconceived narrative. Two big questions, one, in countries that still generate power using thermal means and lose up to 50 per cent in transmission, do electric cars make sense?

Two, when one actually calculates the impact on the environment, factoring in the true cost of battery tech and all the raw ingredients required to facilitate this, do electric cars cause lesser harm? If yes, by how much and how many years do the cars need to run for?

Thoughts?

If one were to define a durable good as something that lasts more than 3 years, then there is a huge opportunity for homegrown Indian brands to draw global interest, especially as a previously globalising world gets more protectionist...

My favourite opportunities ranked sector-wise:
1 Furniture
2 Jewellery and watches
3 Carpets, lighting, fixtures

This isn't just a hobby anymore but a serious career option that deserves validation from parents and institutions alike.

What worked in the last 20 years will likely not work in the next 20. Interactive forms of entertainment are increasingly taking market share, let's all give the gaming industry the importance it deserves ⭐❤️

Where is the urban youth's mindshare at, if they are spending lesser time on TV, movies, watching sports, and reading newspapers/books? Is the answer social media, YouTube, OTT and gaming? What proportion where?

Subliminal marketing does so much. When you are watching an actor drink whiskey, one isn't selling whiskey but the feeling of being the actor drinking whiskey.

The dentists in toothpaste ads usually aren't real doctors, either.

If you wanna sell something, sell a story and an established narrative adjacent to what you really wanna sell.

Ok, firstly, I don't think smart TVs count. I've tried a bunch of smart home systems over the years, the problem for me has always been user interface, and the needless complexity and useless options.

The answer here might be the simplest thing that works, UI is everything...

Episode #10 Out Now - https://lnkd.in/gitVcHdv

Roughly 60% of India is under the age of 30. The coolness funnel seems to be top-down. These 4 young high achievers discuss the consumption trends and behavioural patterns that will likely remain relevant over the next decade.

Anyone who is building for this demographic, don’t miss this!

Retail investors in startups have largely underperformed; what do you think the appetite will be for the next round of startups that IPO ? Do we buy what we know, zomato has the highest amount of retail money, and we order food more often than insurance/cars/cosmetics...
