The passion and performance of the SLB team continue to drive our success!

Earlier today, we announced positive second-quarter results with strong free cash flow and margin expansion. We also achieved broad international revenue growth across all divisions and geographic areas year on year. These results continue to demonstrate our industry’s key role in delivering energy security, and how our focus on technology leadership and performance is elevating efficiency and sustainability in support of the global energy transition.

I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to our teams, customers, and partners around the world for their role in this success and for continuing to innovate the future of energy.

I’m excited to announce that SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7 closed today on our OneSubsea joint venture. With a unique talent pool and technology portfolio that leverages digital innovation, OneSubsea is ideally placed to support customers in their drive to improve asset performance, while increasing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.

SLB’s ability to build partnerships, innovate together, and create value through integration has always set us apart. This joint venture will be yet another example.

I want to thank the dedicated teams involved in completing this milestone and look forward to seeing how our collective efforts will shape the future of subsea.

We stand in solidarity with everyone impacted by the devastating and heart-breaking earthquakes that impacted Türkiye and Syria.

As of today, we can confirm that all SLB employees have been accounted for and are safe. We are hosting employees and their families at our closest facility in the area and continuing to help with their needs. Additionally, our Türkiye team along with our customers are already helping with the humanitarian effort and providing as much support as possible.

The overall situation in the region remains critical, and our thoughts go out to all those who have been affected by this terrible event.
High-performing teams have a few things in common: a shared belief in a powerful vision, a commitment to accomplishing challenging tasks together, and the collective ambition to outperform.

I saw each of these when I visited our Mexico and Central America teams in Mexico City last week. 2022 was an exceptional year for us, and these are some of the individuals of SLB who made it possible. A big thank you to the team for their dedication and for making my visit such a memorable one! I'm excited and proud of how they are driving energy innovation for a balanced planet. #WeAreSLB

In the energy industry, the ability to access and interpret data has always been fundamental for subsurface exploration. Today, advanced digital technologies, such as cloud and AI, are taking this to the next level, unlocking deeper insights that help operators de-risk decision-making and accelerate project timelines.

Last week, I joined the SLB Exploration Data team in Houston for an engaging roundtable discussion following their Fall Seismic Technology Symposium. This team is helping our customers access the power of data at scale much earlier in the exploration and production value chain—enabling faster, smarter decision-making, shortening planning and cycle times, and ultimately improving project economics. Additionally, their subsurface insights are also paving the way for new energy solutions by applying advanced interpretation and characterization to CCS and geothermal.

The opportunities in exploration and appraisal are vast, and there is so much to discover. I am confident that this team will continue to uncover critical insights for our customers as we drive energy innovation together.

It was great to be in Austin, TX this week to celebrate our Sales and Commercial team and recognize them for the critical role they play in delivering outstanding results for our customers and our business.

The competitive spirit was alive with this group and reflected in the fierce competition for our top sales awards. I was particularly impressed with the group’s deep understanding of local customers and dedication to create value by providing fit-for-customer solutions.

Congratulations to each of our winners, and thanks for the hat! 🤠

This afternoon at CERAWeek, I was happy to join CNBC’s Brian Sullivan, where I shared how SLB is translating current market dynamics into a balanced strategy for growth today and tomorrow.

With demand accelerating, delivering affordable and secure energy will require more production from all sources, and we must do this faster, more economically, and with fewer emissions. We are driving efficiency through digitalization and AI (an energy transition X-factor), and deploying technology at scale to help our customers produce lower carbon barrels.

It’s great to see plans turn into action. We’ve made a lot of progress advancing technologies for CCS this year, and as we continue to build on that momentum, I am excited to share that SLB, along with our great partners aramco and Linde, will pave the way for the development of a CCS hub in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

This is expected to become one of the largest CCS hubs globally, with initial plans to capture and store up to 9 million metric tons of CO2 annually—equivalent to removing more than 2 million cars from the road each year.

I look forward to seeing the impact of this project as we continue to support industrial decarbonization on the path to a #BalancedPlanet.
