Never Use Weak Words in your Resume
Recruiters spend only a few seconds on a resume.
To make an impact, review the words that you've used.

Overused and common words will make your resume look like every other lying in the pile.

Do this instead:

1) Cross out all the common words. Some of them are:

- Problem Solver
- Managed
- Helped
- Created
- Hard worker
- Responsible for
- Team-player
- Self-motivated
- Detail-oriented
- Go-getter

2) Look for powerful and specific action verbs.

3) Reframe your points.

Many of them are just characteristics that recruiters expect from the ideal candidate.

Use words and experience that demonstrate those qualities.

GenZ watched their parents who give 20 years to the same company but they got fired within 2 minutes in a Zoom call.

And you wonder why they don't wait for promotions?"

In 2019, the formula was simple: Join, work hard, wait 2-3 years and get promoted.

In 2025? That playbook is dead. And here's exactly what changed after the pandemic:

The Old Contract Broke:
→ Companies did mass layoffs despite "loyalty" and "culture" → Job security became a myth overnight → Switching jobs started giving 30-40% pay jumps → Hybrid work made interviewing easier than ever → LinkedIn made better opportunities visible 24/7

GenZ didn't just see this. They lived it.
They watched their parents' generation give 20 years to companies that let them go in a 2-minute Zoom call.

So they learned one hard truth fast: Loyalty doesn't pay but movement does.

And honestly? I don't blame them at all.

When your college batchmate switches after 18 months and gets a 35% raise while you're waiting for your "annual performance review" with a 7% increment, what would you do?

Here's the real problem:
The job market became unstable and unpredictable. But organizations still operate on 2019 logic.

Slow appraisals. Vague "career paths." Delayed feedback. "Pay your dues first."

Meanwhile, GenZ sees this reality every day: → Layoffs happening despite great performance → Salaries staying flat while inflation hits 8% → Zero job security no matter how loyal you are → Better roles just one application away

So why wait?

I'm not saying job-hopping every 6 months is smart.
But if companies genuinely want GenZ to stay longer, they need to:

1. Show crystal-clear growth paths from day one 2. Match market salaries, not "budget constraints" 3. Give challenging, meaningful work, not just routine tasks 4. Promote based on performance and impact, not just tenure 5. Recognize that retention now competes with the entire market
