The road to building a billion-dollar business starts with solving your own problems.

As a result of their inability to manage their son's skin problem, they were feeling parental stress.

The majority of baby products in the market included toxins that were harmful to their child.

They noticed there was a need for 100% organic products.

After doing a lot of research and testing, they came up with 6 baby products that were natural, organic, and toxin-free.

That’s how Varun Alagh and Ghazal Alagh started the journey of Mamaearth!

They saw that the problem was larger than they realized and that this solution would benefit other parents like them.

Varun and Ghazal's vision and hard work made Mamaearth the first choice of parents and their babies.

To learn how they establish the process of establishing such a remarkable company, I recently recorded a podcast with this incredible duo.

We had an intelligent conversation that featured a lot of laughter, serious discussions, skincare, and abroad stories.

Listen to the podcast to uncover the brains behind one of India’s fastest-growing unicorn companies (link in comments)!

If you're in your 20s, read this!

[1] Enjoy your own company

-Go to the park or go to jogging.
-Work in solitude.
-Spend time with yourself.
-Learn to get comfortable with silence and your inner self.

[2] Invest in learning

When you invest in learning:
-You avoid expensive mistakes.
-Learn a year's worth of knowledge in a span of a month.

[3] Consider your appearance

Exercise daily, and choose clothes that make you feel confident.

It's significant to begin taking care of yourself early on. It boosts your confidence.

[4] Travel

Begin by exploring the city, then try visiting nearby towns and eventually cover different countries.

You'll learn about culture, people and most importantly yourself.

[5] Journal it down

To write clearly is to think clearly.

Pick up a pen and write:
-What all things do you want to achieve
-What is bothering you.
-What you want to change in your life.

And you will slowly find the difference.

[6] Take risk

Start a business, and pursue a far-fetched goal.

The upside is full of possibilities. The downside is mediocrity.

[7] Build meaningful relationships

Date and spending time with someone is not a sin.

You can have a person to share your love and happiness with. All you need to know is to strike a balance between both.

[8] Read self-help books

Finishing a book gives you a hit of dopamine.

Applying the lesson you have learned from it makes all the difference. So read to implement.

[9] Find your role model

We all need someone to guide us. Be it books, friends, coaches or family members.

Having a mentor can change your life for good.

[10] Self Educate

Google is free.

YouTube is free.

Twitter is free.

The best teachers and information is available for free. So, learn and upskill yourself.

That's it. Thanks for reading.

I want to tell my 16-year-old self that thanks for not doubting yourself when teachers and society were. I am proud of you. Thanks for choosing love for storytelling over everything else.

And I want to tell my 60-year-old self, watch out, ‘We are just getting started. It’s still day 1’.

I am overwhelmed because who thought that one day a creator from a small city would come to the city of dreams, walk on a red carpet and get an award on the stage amongst the country's biggest celebrities.

This is the first for us, first for our FiguringOut army, we will get a lot more things, but the mission to help India learn better to become financially independent will always be the purpose regardless of whether we win awards or not.❀

Well, If you are reading this, choose love over everything because creators are just getting started. Content creators will rule this decade. If you have ever wanted to start doing what you love or become a creator, this is it. Do it right now.

Thank you @mamaearth.in , @feminaindia , @ghazalalagh , @varunalagh . This one is super special. đŸ™‡đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

“You should have these 10 hobbies”

Bullsh*t.

In January every year, people get this urge to change their lives completely.

Start working out, try a new sport, get into a side hustle, so on.

Which is absolutely fair.
Humans see the new year as a new beginning.

But one thing that I see is people forcing themselves to have hobbies.

“I need something apart from work.”
“I can’t just sit at home.”
“I need something interesting to talk about.”

If you genuinely like doing something, that’s a hobby.
If it helps you reset, even better.

But if you are doing it just because “everyone should have a hobby”, that’s just you trying to fit in.

It’s okay if work is your thing right now.
It’s okay if your weekends are for rest.
It’s okay if you only like one thing.

Filling every hour just to feel “productive” doesn’t make life better.
It just makes you more tired.

Try new stuff, yes.
But don’t pressure yourself into hobbies just to look more acceptable.

“I would prefer to die poor than live poor”, said Taapsee.

And I was surprised. Because most of us think otherwise.
To live on a budget and enjoy our old age days peacefully.

Well meet my recent guest, Taapsee Pannu.

From genuinely enjoying maths and physics,
To studying engineering,
And then becoming an actor,
Her story is nothing less than a movie itself!

In our recent podcast,
She shared that in her 2nd year of engineering,
She realized that this path would lead to a 9-5 job,
The thought of having a monotonous life and routine scared her.

She decided to try modeling,
Soon she was offered one Tamil and Telugu film at the same time.
After these movies,
She gave herself one year to see if she enjoyed doing films,
Otherwise, she would come back and do an MBA.

And the rest is history!
She did some of the most thought-provoking movies like Thappad, Pink, and Badla.
She has worked with actors like Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mr. Shah Rukh Khan,
who are every actor’s dream co-stars.

In this episode, she talked about:
✅ Her decade-long relationship.
✅ How Shah Rukh Khan is a marketing genius.
✅ Why creators/ influencers can’t become stars.
✅ How Thappad movie was more than just about a slap.
✅ Red flags in a relationship and in men and women individually.

This episode will keep you hooked till the end.

The President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel Macron, was on Figuring Out.

It was an honour to host him.

But beyond the honour, we see this as a responsibility.

Because when someone like President Macron chooses to have a conversation with us, it becomes an opportunity to talk about India on a global stage.

What we're getting right.
Where we're struggling.
What the world needs to understand about us.

"The question is no longer whether India innovates. The question is who will innovate with India."

That's what the French President had to say about India.

The world's posture towards India has changed.
We're not the market they want to sell to anymore.
We're the partner they want to build with.

We talked about UPI, Aadhaar, and the way India leapfrogged legacy systems that other countries are still stuck with.

President Macron was surprisingly honest about where France went wrong.

A country that invented cinema, photography, and the hot air balloon and yet today, the largest tech companies in the world are either American or Chinese.

He admitted it openly. He said Europe's problem wasn't ideas, it was scale, capital, and appetite for risk. Three things. All three missing.

And then we talked about leadership. About respect. About what happens when private conversations between presidents end up on social media.

These are the kind of conversations we always hoped this platform could have.

And thanks to all of you who watch us, your belief in what we're building, your support, Figuring Out is able to host such guests.

Most of you know him as a comedian, and a storyteller but today,
you will know what a beautiful human Zakir Khan is in real life.

He says,
”Most people don’t know what storytelling truly is.
They think storytelling is about narrating stories
But storytelling is the art of having a conversation.”

He shares 3 ways of becoming a great storyteller:
> Read and listen to various genres
> Be around and listen to people who are better than you
> And talk in front of people who have less knowledge than you.

According to him,
“What you spent on others, they might not remember
But they will remember how you made them feel”

So the next time you meet someone,
focus on making them feel::
> Warm
> Heard
> Belonged

And you will see how they remember you for the rest of their lives.

Zakir’s best advice on becoming a winner in Life
“If you want to be a big person in life, learn to be a small person.”

Be ready to become a smaller person

Smaller person who listens

Smaller person who wants to learn

Be ready to be a giver,
You need to know what you can give to others
To give them, you need a lot within you
And you need to constantly fill yourself

He had a special message for all the viewers,
“If you like someone’s work then appreciate them, give them compliments, because there are lakhs of people to ruin their day.”

Throughout this episode,
We talked about,
> Love, relationships, loneliness and success
> His bond with his father and their heartwarming stories
> How to nurture different relationships in life

This podcast will feel like Zakir Bhai narrating your own stories.
Every story will make you relate to him and admire him even more.

I used to use this hack to build confidence a few years back.

Every day I would do one of these things:
→ Read a new research/ news/ blog
→ Listen to a new podcast
→ Learn a new thing

This HACK is called Information Asymmetry.

Whenever you meet a group of people, you will have a new thing to share, which will make you a well-read and informed person.

This will help you boost your confidence every day and will slowly make you a confident person.

P.S. What is the one thing that helped you become confident? Share with me in the comments.

Suniel Shetty almost left his acting career to sell idlis at his father’s restaurant.

A household name, someone who defined an entire era of Bollywood, questioning if his career was over because of one critic's comment.

Instead of defending himself, he decided to actually work on his craft. He said he hadn't even taken ten days of acting class before his first film.

So he stayed in the industry and focused on getting better.

He moved on, but not everyone around him did.

There was a time when a friend made fun of him for sitting at his father's restaurant counter, but he was confident that he'd make it big one day.

That was the only time in his life he said, 'I'll be bigger than you.'

We didn't call it manifestation back then. We called it overconfidence, he told me.

He came a long way for someone who almost gave up due to criticism.

In our second episode of the "Real Advice" series with Birla Estates, we discussed his biggest weakness, how much family means to him, and how he wants to be remembered.
