Sitting at New Delhi Airport waiting for my flight to Pune, I got introduced to another flyer sitting next to me and learned she was a very senior executive of a multi-national. When I was about to move for boarding, I asked her if she was on Linkedin. She said.β€œYes, I amβ€œ. So I asked if she could tell me her name so that I can invite her to connect. She politely refused by saying: β€œ I am not a very social person.β€œ I just smiled and moved on. Did I feel bad? For a moment yes, I did. But then, she was simply using her right to refuse a request. It is true that anyone has got a right to say NO. And it can be taken without a pinch of salt graciously by respecting that right. I too did. – RS
