I made more than 5500000 PKR in one year from Upwork solely.
And this is way more than a 19-scale officer can make here.
(My personal brand also pays me off monetarily) ;)
With this money,
I would have lived a dream life.
But, I didn't spend a penny on my luxuries.
I am using a 1+ model used phone, I bought 2 years ago.
My laptop's cost was 38000 PKR, I've been using it for 2 years.
I didn't buy anything to upgrade my lifestyle.
(Don't doubt me, I'm a girl)
I also have wishes like other girls.
But I have set my priorities.
My topmost priority has been my parents' comfort.
I invested in real estate one year ago for my parents.
The house is being constructed there for them now.
I had the option to either invest or waste.
And I'm glad that I chose the first one: INVEST.
I see that most freelancers of my age spend their money on upgrading their lifestyles as soon as they start making handsome money.
And that's the worst thing ever to do.
You can buy an iPhone,
but DON'T BUY until you have no other option.
You can upgrade your laptop,
but DON'T DO unless it's a necessity.
I swear, earning money is hard.
So, it's your duty to spend wisely.
PS: Picture taken right after the new haircut. I love short hair, btw. Getting myself a good haircut from a very good salon is my love language for me. 💜
By the way, how do you feel when you think of the money you made in the past year?
