In March, I started working with my dream client. 😊

Let me tell you what you might not know-

1. Behind the fun of Finance with Sharan- is a guy who wants to improve India’s financial situation by educating millions of people to help large-scale growth of the economy.

And he is absolutely unstoppable.✈️

2. I think one of the best things about Sharan is his obsession with data- that has made me outperform my own past best records.

Working with him challenging, exhausting and rewarding.

3. Very few clients appreciate hard work like he does- and he does it so generously by recommending me to people.

The number of prospects I have had to reject has been crazy. 🤯

But thanks to him, I am working with two more dream clients.

4. I have met lots of creators who are very satisfied with the money from brand deals.

But he does not really care. For the money he makes, he lives a very humble life.

He is pursuing his academics, building multiple other products and growing multi-fold. It is so inspiring to see someone work so hard- and definitely pushes me a bit more.

5. One day, out of the blue he asked me - ‘ So Saheli, where are you keeping all your money?’

And went on to give me some terrific advice even my CA couldn’t.

Talk about having a client who makes you and saves you money in so many ways.😝

Growth comes in multiple ways with Sharan Hegde - so you need to follow your man- Finance with Sharan ❤️

5 LIFE-CHANGING Lessons I Learnt while Building my Business To Crores.

1. Learn 3 Skills.

One that makes you money, one that grows your network and one that makes you happy.

Because in the professional world:

- You’re only as important as your skills.
- Who you know and who refers you matters.
- And you need to take care of your mental health.

2. The smartest minds always focus on numbers.

- How many businesses started in in 2022?

- How many of these businesses hit 6 Figures in Revenue?

- What are the average engagement rates, conversion rates, open rates in a ?

3. You'll be able to sit at every table you ever dreamt of - and once you reach there you'll be severely underwhelmed - because the charm fades soon.

And you’ll often wonder if it was worth it.

4. We hear : “Charge what you are worth.“

But this is a lot of crap for most cases, since “worth“ is subjective. You charge as good as the results of your work are.

So focus on that, the money becomes a by-product.

5. I went from 0-1 Lac/month in 3 Years.

From 1-5 Lacs in about 6 Months.

From 5-10Lacs in 2 Months.

Income growth is exponential - you don't know what's ahead of you. So DO NOT STOP!

You can make it. 😊

Everyone LOVES freelancers making a lot of money, but you know who really needs our support? 🤝

• The ones who are just getting started
• The man who just got laid off and has a family of four
• The student who doesn't want to ask parents for money
• The woman who left her career years ago, but now is restarting.

It's 100x difficult for them, and if you support them today, they WILL be successful. 1 year later, they will bring YOU opportunities. 🤗

You create success when you build OTHERS.

Know a freelancer just kicking off their journey? You can support them for FREE.

• Like their posts.
• Leave a comment of support.
• Send them good resources for their skills.
• Once in a while, ask them of their progress.
• Refer them to new businesses on low budgets.
• Share your beginnings and your struggles with them.
• Connect them with growing agencies. They will learn fast.
• Give them actionable tips and don't entertain them until they do it!

You have no idea how helpful they will be for you, in long term.

Stop looking at newbies as unhelpful, because they will be PROs someday, with or without your help.

You help an industry grow, your bank account will grow as well.

Question : How do you support others? I would love to know ✍

7+ years in the online game taught me this One Golden Rule!

“Your brain is your biggest asset.”🧠

So the best thing you can do for your income growth is: Manage your brain energy.

A recurring joke in my circle is that “Thank God Saheli didn't pursue medicine! She would show up at work and refuse to see patients saying : “I don't have the mental space for this!“

The joke comes from the fact that often, you will hear me say: I don't have the mental space for this! 💭

From 9AM-2PM, I won't tend to anything but my deep focus work.

If I am doing chores, I won't work at the same time.
I rarely pick up calls I don't anticipate.

I am very conservative of my mental energy and that’s how I continue to scale everyday, strategize better plans and frameworks.

Staying creative without burning out for years has taught me ways to manage my energy.

Here are 5 ways that can help you to conserve yours-

1. Batch similar tasks
~ Helps me tackling them in one go
~ Reduces cognitive load

2. Learn to say ‘no’ strategically
~ Helps in prioritizing tasks that aligns with your goals and values
~ Setting boundaries with peers is must

3. Create a brain dump ritual
~ Helps in reducing mental clutter and enhances focus
~ Set aside time regularly to jot down all your thoughts, ideas, and to-dos

4. Establish a consistent sleep routine
~ Quality sleep is crucial for brain recovery.
~ Create a relaxing bedtime ritual to optimize your rest

5. Practice mindfulness
~ Helps in reducing stress, and bringing you back to the present
~ Even just 10 minutes a day can help clear your mind and improve focus

Your brain energy is vital to your progress.

Initially, when you start setting these boundaries people WILL try to violate it.

But eventually, you will be okay.

Question: Who’s your fav Productivity GURU? I love Andrew Huberman btw!

The biggest marketing mistake?

“Not knowing your audience inside out.”

After working with 100+ clients, I’ve learned that understanding your ideal customer is the key to success.

Without it, your marketing efforts will fall flat.

If you don’t understand them deeply, you’ll struggle.

The customer is still the king, and the moment you stop listening to what they need or want, your income and growth can come to a halt.

Here’s my go-to underrated method for doing ‘market research’—whether for myself or for clients:

1. Amazon Reviews
They reveal how to fine-tune your marketing strategy.

~ Specifically, focus on the 3- and 4-star reviews.
~ They’re balanced, offering honest critiques and insights that help you make smarter decisions about your or your client’s products.

2. Ask on Stories/Forums
Get direct feedback and insights like:

~ How aware is your audience of their own needs?
~ What are their opinions on certain products/services?
~ If they're not even aware of a problem, your marketing approach needs to shift.

3. Goodreads Reviews
Check niche-specific books to discover what your audience:

~ Truly needs
~ Wants to solve
~ Is willing to pay for

4. YouTube Comments
Want honest feedback? Uncover:

~ Genuine pain points or desires
~ How your audience expresses themselves
~ Valuable insights into the language your audience uses, which you can mirror in your messaging.

5. Podcasts
These are an interactive gateway into your audience’s mindset. Listen closely to:

~ Q&A segments to understand current industry concerns
~ Listener comments, where they often share extra thoughts and perspectives

Remember: Market research isn’t a one-time task; it’s an ongoing cycle of listening, learning, and adapting.

The better you understand your customers, the stronger your results will be—both in terms of client revenue and your working relationships.

Q: What’s your go-to method for market research?

I got 137+ organic inbound leads from Linkedin alone in the last 123 Days 😁

I consulted 23+ of them.

11+ were short-term clients.

3 are/were long-term clients. ⏱️

Getting Inbound Leads Organically on Linkedin Is Easy When You Have A Clear Roadmap.

Ask yourself- do you have one?

Use my 4 tricks to get high-paying clients this month effortlessly! 💅

1) Quality Content can influence lead quantity.

• If you post valuable content- you can expect 2-3 warm inbound leads/ week.

• They will usually be a lead who recognizes you and your brand and will ask for your service.

Quality content for me falls in 7 Categories: Educational, Aspirational, Conversational, Humorous, Polarizing, Observational, and Analytical.

Choose yours.

2) An optimised profile attracts people more.

• A clear profile picture + a strong appealing bio + a banner that explains your service
• Give a detailed account of why you are THE BIG DEAL in your “About  Section“

3) Convince them to take actions.

•Always end your content with a clear CTA- What to do next?

For ex-
Like this post if…
Let me know what you think about this?
Save this post to catch it later when...

4) Engage with your industry.

• Talk to more people in your niche.
• Talk to more people in your aligned industries.

For ex -

• By making a human connection with a personalised text.
• Engage with their posts by leaving a comment that shows interest and experience.

Apply these tricks for 2-3 months and you’ll see leads coming directly to you.

Save this to thank me later when you reach your goal. ✨

6 things I know at 24, I wish I had known at 17 being a freelancer.

I have mixed feelings about aging, if I have to be honest.

It is scary but also empowering in my case as I was already established as a freelancer in my younger years.

I have worked with 100+ Indian & Global Clients in my freelance career.

Looking back, these are some lessons that I have learnt over the past years about freelancing.

(Trust me, if I could go back in time and give my 17 year old self some advice on freelancing , then I’d tell her these pointers to make her life a little bit easier.) 😂

>>> Understand Business Fundamentals

If you’ve a business, it automatically means you’re a problem solver. It’s super important to know why

- Businesses need your services
- What problem can you help them solve
- How can you help them make more money

Cracking this will set you up for success.

>>> Change is Good

- As humans we’re resistant to change, we get scared. Fear doesn’t necessarily mean danger.
- You’re just on unfamiliar grounds and it’s okay to move forward even in uncertainty.
- Once, I was stuck to content writing thinking it is the only high paying gig (it wasn’t much) I can do and deserve.

Embrace the change.

>>> Keep experimenting

- If you want to grow as a freelancer, experimentation is inevitable.
- You have to keep trying new things, be it new kinds of content style, offers or other creative ideas.
- You will never know what works best for you until you explore your options.

When you find the niches that you can really bring results in, nothing feels sweeter than that!

>>> Don’t take rejection personally

- Not everyone will accept your proposal, no matter how good it is!
- Keep your ego aside and accept that rejection is a part and parcel of life.
- Use it as a stepping stone for your personal development.

See the bright side of rejections.

>>> Talk about your skills online

- Don’t ever shy away from social media.
- It helps in building authority, expertise, and credibility.
- Consequently, you will have a plethora of inbound leads.

The more you talk, the more opportunities you have

>>> Be consistent

- Be patient and stay committed to your goals. Perseverance is the key!
- Someone who is average but consistent with their work will outshine people who aren’t the latter.
- It’ll give unexpected results for sure.

It took me 6 years to learn these valuable lessons.

As I say, you grow when you learn. Ultimately the more you learn the more you grow.

If you’re someone who is just starting out or feel stuck at the moment for any reason, this post is for you.

Boss, NEVER STOP LEARNING.

P.S.- Tell me any advice which will stay with you forever. Also I’d love to hear your life/career advice in the comments.

My USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is what sets me apart from the competition.⭐️

It’s the key to standing out and attracting your ideal clients.

✅Here’s how you can build a powerful USP too:

1. Identify Your Strengths

Ask yourself:
~ What are you exceptionally good at?
~ What do you do better than anyone else?

Your strengths are the foundation of your USP.

2. Understand Your Audience

Ask yourself:
~ Who are your ideal clients?
~ What are their pain points and desires?

Understanding your audience helps you tailor your USP to meet their specific needs.

3. Analyze the Competition

Ask yourself:
~ What are your competitors offering?
~ What are the gaps in the market where you can provide unique value?

4. Focus on Benefits, Not Features

~ Clients are more interested in how you can solve their problems than in the features of your services.
~ Clearly articulate the benefits they will gain by working with you.

5. Be Specific

~ Vague statements don’t make an impact. Quantify your results whenever possible.
~ Be specific about what you offer and why it’s valuable.

6. Test and Refine

~ Your USP isn’t set in stone.
~ Test it with your audience and refine it based on feedback and results.

Example: Instead of saying, “I’m a freelance marketer,“ say, “I help small businesses triple their social media engagement within 3 months using targeted strategies.“

Building a strong USP is an ongoing process, but it’s worth the effort.❤️

A compelling USP not only attracts clients but also positions you as a leader in your field.

📌What’s your USP? Let’s see what makes you stand out and we all attract the right clients!

Why People Think I Freelance :

~ 6 Figure Income
~ Cool Projects and Clients
~ Location Independence [aka work from weddings]

vs Why I Really Freelance:

~ Continuous Learning
~ Escaping Toxic Environments
~ Pursuing my Greater Purpose

Note : If you're looking for the latter, DM me “Freelancer“ 😁

I never believed I would come this far.

‘A little, small town girl with big dreams in her eyes. Now leading a life as a successful woman.’

I remember how I used to take classes to buy the books I love but couldn’t afford.

I remember when I made my first 100 Rs how top of the moon I was.

All the things I wanted one day have become normal to me today.
Yes because of the financial freedom I achieved.

Doesn’t matter if you are working a full time job, freelancing or running a business. Being a woman it’s super important to be financially independent.

Yesterday I went through one article, where I read a statement by apna,

“We received 23 million+ applications in 2023 from women job seekers. This translates to an impressive rate of 44 applications every minute”

These numbers are massive and I felt happy to see how women are transforming their lives through career building.

It's an opportunity to demonstrate to the world that the women of India hold limitless potential to make a lasting impact, transcending boundaries not only in business and corporate arenas but across all aspects of life.

Great going Nirmit Parikh. Empower a woman and you empower the entire nation!

Proud to be an Indian & a woman!

You think Poo could be a Freelancer?

Really got out of the “comfort zone“ for this.

Tell me how it was 💅
Don't Quit Your Job🚫

To start freelancing!

Yes you heard me right.

I will never recommend you quit if

~ You're new to freelancing
~ You're responsible for all the finances
~ You're not making at least 50K INR a month

Yes, because you have no privileges 🤷‍♀️

I started freelancing and pursued it for years because,

I was living at my parents house, and my parents would take care of all the household work, which allowed me to pursue freelancing as a side hustle while studying in college.

So yes, if you have no responsibilities or have the privileges, definitely pursue freelancing as a full-time job.⭐️

Question - When did you start freelancing? And how's the progress every year?
It's a regular Tuesday morning.

I open up my laptop, and my dream life stares back at me.

~ There are invoices that need sending.
~ There's client meetings that need to be scheduled.
~ I need to get back on the campaign we strategised on Friday.

Not that I have any complaints, though.

I have money in the bank, ability to treat myself to delicious meals from Turkey and Japan sitting in Kolkata, and a beautiful place to call home.

I sip a cup of Vietnamese Coffee [ may I say, I make the best]

And read a book that has made me feel comforted, understood.

The day slows down for me.

For a moment, I stop thinking about targets, goals, ambitions.

Live in the moment, the present.

The coffee tastes sweeter.

P.S. What are you ticking off your list today?

Free resources are everywhere, but do we take advantage of them all the time?
🤔

I don’t think so- but these 3 Amazing Free Resources In Marketing are my personal Go-Tos.🤗

1. Marketing Bullets by Gary Bencivenga

His copywriting content is all about pure marketing, growth hacking, and psychological strategies.

2. Seth Godin’s Blog

His content will help you learn about marketing in depth and how he makes a human connection with his copy is amazing, his storytelling ideas are incredible as well.💸

3. Sam Ovens

Any piece of his content by him will help you learn about Consulting.
His no BS attitude helps you a lot in things that actually work and he does not sugar coat.

You can check out his youtube as well- Watching him has changed the way I do Business now.💸

Save these and watch 🔜
“You’re poor, you don't even have an office,” strangers confidently tell me online.

“You don't have a big desk setup like the hustle bros- you sure you make $10k a month?” they insist, believing their own hype.

It's funny how having money suddenly makes everyone think they can tell you how to spend it—or judge you when you don't.

But here’s my truth:

I don’t measure my wealth in office leases or fancy chairs.
I measure it in freedom.

~ I get to work from my cozy home.
~ I can take a break and hug the people I love- 24x7.
~ I don’t waste hours commuting, stuck in traffic, chasing someone else’s idea of success.
~ My team has the flexibility to work where they feel happiest and most productive.
~ I save money that equals more profit - allowing me to compensate more profits as team bonuses.

Real wealth isn’t flashy setups or expensive furniture.

It’s being able to choose what works best for you, without caring what others think.

I don't need an office to prove I'm successful. Infact, I work online BECAUSE I never wanted that life.

My version of wealth is simple, peaceful, and completely mine.

I slid into his DMs.

Not on Instagram.
Not on Twitter.
On LinkedIn.

Yep.

That’s how I got Chris Do to connect with me.

Here’s the truth:

When you’ve spent years watching someone’s YouTube videos just to feel less alone in your craft...

But You don’t expect to one day ever meet them, 1:1.

But that’s exactly what happened.

I asked. He replied. And he said yes.

Not because I had a viral post.
Not because I had a blue check.
Not because I had a team of ten.
Because I showed up. Consistently.

And one message? It can change everything.

P.S. Do we want a Live Exclusive class with him? Yes or Yes?

Got 3 Offers This Week To Create Courses for Other People’s Platforms.

One of them offered a really nice compensation - double our current annual revenue as a company.

But I rejected it.

While some collaborations I am interested in - They wanted exclusive rights to my signature Info-Product Freelance 101 Academy.

Why did I reject it?

Because this academy is my baby. 😊

I have always cared for it beyond the monetary value- while I am grateful for it, I try to grow my academy with my community.

I don’t run ads on Freelance 101 Academy.

I think anyone who feels called to it, will find their way.

I know people scaling their courses to multiple crores a year with ads, and while I am aware of the potential, I will rather let my baby grow at its own pace.

We grew from a community of 200 to 2000 students in a year.

I meet them every week.

Every student who struggles after 2-3 months gets extra-personal support.

When someone struggles with support even beyond our scope I ask them to contact me and help as much as I can.

I actively ask them to tell me what they hate, what they need , what more can I do to make sure they make money?

I love growing the Freelance 101 Academy with passion, love, regular lives where I talk about my own experiences.

I know my students by name, by face, I remember their journey, their struggles.

I can’t sell it for some money- no matter how big the number.

Because no one will care for my baby as I do.

Sure I have missed out on a lot of money.

And I love it that way. 😊

Every week, I teach marketing and freelancing to a few hundred students.

A common misconception - fiction is useless.

As a young girl who read fiction voraciously and saw it build her a six figure career, before 22, I am surprised!

Why Marketing Strategists Should Read Fiction?

Let me tell you, it helps you in:

Understanding Human Behavior :

~ Gain insights into motivations, desires, fears, and aspirations.
~ Inform strategies for crafting compelling messages.

Empathy Building:

~ Step into diverse characters' shoes.
~ Connect with consumers on a deeper level.

Storytelling Skills:

~ Study compelling narratives and engaging plots.
~ Enhance storytelling abilities for marketing content.

Creativity and Innovation:

~ Inspire out-of-the-box thinking.
~ Develop fresh, original concepts for campaigns.

Cultural Insights:

~ Analyze reflections of cultural, social, and political issues.
~ Tailor messages to resonate with specific audiences.

Escapism and Stress Relief:

~ Provide a break from the fast-paced marketing world.
~ Recharge creative energy and reduce burnout.

I am not a creator.
I am not a freelancer.
I am a freaking ecosystem.

My Agency → delivers services to brands
My Academy → trains students to deliver those services
My Community → where clients hire students, students grow and everyone shares knowledge

Me → the trust anchor + content engine that fuels discovery + loyalty

This shift is how founders stop being service providers or product sellers…
…and start becoming category leaders.

This becomes a closed-loop growth machine.

And that’s what I help my clients create too:

~ A fitness coach that rewires minds before body
~ A tech app that becomes a community of power users
~ A creator who becomes a category-defining educator

Your product can be copied.
Your price can be undercut.

But your culture, your community, and your ecosystem effect?
That’s your unfair advantage.

P.S. Want me to build yours? DM “ecosystem“ for a consultation call.

Learning Email Marketing and Copywriting has helped me :

✅ Help a client grow their list to 52,000+ Subs and maintain a 45.17% Avg Open Rate

✅ Help another client LITERALLY 2.13x their sales with ONE Email

✅ Grow communities that love the brand instead of ignoring their emails.

No, I did not take any Email Marketing Course.

Here's what I did :

1. Followed Chase Dimond religiously and implemented every little thing he speaks about - as long it's relevant to my target audience. 🌟

2. Shifted all my clients to Convertkit - love the platform and it's features! It's expensive but totally worth it.

3. Subscribed to the newsletters of Justin Welsh , Ramit Sethi and TheSkimm. My top favorite places for inspiration and new ideas. I also built a swipe file of my favorite emails of all kinds.

4. Once a week, spent two hours on ReallyGoodEmails. Their categorization feature is so helpful! And I noted 5-10 things to implement each week.

5. Went crazy with A/B testing for headlines. The difference can be shocking!

Email Marketing is and will remain a core part of my marketing strategies, and it's really exciting ❤️ to explore it every week.

Who should use Email Marketing? 🤔

➡️ Service Based Businesses and Freelancers to have a list of prospects they nurture over months

➡️ Digital Product and Info Product businesses to grow large email lists and make high sales in launches

➡️ Product Based Businesses to educate their audience about what they do (I Love Carmesi's newsletter!)

Ask me anything about it in the comments below! 😊

Want to Generate More Revenue for Your Campaigns?

Learn The 5W1H Method For Creating World Class Advertising Campaigns ✅

When trying to market your product or service, you should ask yourself SIX questions.😄

The answers to the five Ws and one H will help you shape your advertising strategy.

This process is called “The 5W1H Method” and can be applied when you're in the very early stages of conceptualizing your advertising campaign.

The 5 W's and 1 H are: Who, What, Where, When, Why and How.

- Who are you marketing to?

- What does your product/service do for them?

- Why is it better than your competitors?

- Where should you reach your audience?

- When is the best time to reach them?

- How can you prove your credentials?

By taking the time to do this, you end up saving yourself time in the long run and having an advertising promotion that actually works.

I came across this in Marketing Bullets by Bencivenga.

This has generated my clients crores in revenue. I am sure you can make some 💸 with it.

Noise is making…the right kind of noise.

Recently, boAt Lifestyle launched a campaign while directly taking a dig at the big player- Apple.

And while that stirred up great controversy, Noise did something by

> Jumping on the trend
> Yet…being pretty neutral
> All while staying true to their own brand.

Look at the picture below of how Noise made their Ad Campaigns. So smart!

As a Marketer I would like to reflect on one of my fav quotes.

“Good marketing makes the company look smart. Great marketing makes the customer feel smart.” -Joe Chernov.

In this campaign Noise fearlessly steps forward as a brand that not only defines what it means to be “smart“ but also actively listens to its audience, emerging as their true representative without sounding condescending.

Afterall, it’s easy to critique or bash - but difficult to build brands of value.

Question - What’s your take on this Marketing Ad Campaign?
