Hereโs my GATE journey:
In 2020, I started preparing for GATE during the summer, dedicating 4 months to watching videos, making notes, and following a disciplined routineโwaking up early and studying until night. Once college resumed, I shifted to subject-wise topic tests for 3 months. The next 2 months were spent on subject tests, full-length tests and consistent revision.
Despite all this effort in 2021 I couldnโt secure admission to a good IIT or NIT. It was disheartening, but I didnโt lose hope. A week after the GATE exam, I sat for campus placements and was fortunate to land an internship, which was later converted into a full-time offer.
As I had already prepared notes and built a solid foundation, I focused on practice and revision, balancing my work with studies. This time, persistence paid offโI finally got into IIT Madras in 2022.
This journey reminded me that persistence is key, and success doesnโt come without overcoming obstacles.
To anyone facing setbacks, remember: growth happens outside your comfort zone. Keep learning, keep pushing, and never give upโyour hard work will eventually pay off!
