We interviewed a 26-year-old candidate yesterday with 15 months of employment gap.

Me: Why do you have this gap in your resume? Did your employer lay you off?

Him: No, I quit the job, because my father's health wasn't good and he was admitted to the hospital.
I had to take care of him, so I relocated to my home city.

Me : What happened to him? Is he alright, now?

Him : He passed away few months back. I had left the job so that I can give all my time and create some good memories during his last days.

I have no regrets that I left the job or because I have this employment gap.

Without a second thought, the panel members decided to select him for the role.

I said, “You're Selected. Congratulations on your new role!“

Sometimes we need to listen and understand people, then judge them.

Give a chance to justify always!

My friend Kirti recently left her $300K job at a top company in California.

Her mother had a serious accident, and even though the doctors said she would recover, it would take a long time.

Despite the good news from the doctors, she decided to quit her job, pack up, and move back to India.

When I asked her, “Why didn't you just take some time off?“

She said, “I couldn't stand the idea of not being there for my mother when she needed me most.“

She added, “What's the point of success if you can't be there for your family during tough times?“

Although she is having elder brother but he is not supportive and he don’t understand the responsibilities.


It was a hard choice, but I really respect her for it 🙌.

My flatmate applied for Microsoft more than 50 times in last 1 year.

Last month somehow he got the interview call and he cleared all rounds.

- He got the offer from Microsoft for Hydrabad location.


Thats okay !

- but but moral of story is he is moving to Hydrabad from Bangalore.
