I'm excited to announce... 🎉🎉

that I did absolutely nothing but rest, update my backyard and binge Beef on Netflix this weekend. There's always something that can be done but we only have one mind and body.

Working in a technical field requires your mind to often run at full speed, when you rest it allows you to solve problems more efficiently and be more creative in your solutions.

When you're working on projects, personal or professional, rest allows your mental sharpness to rise.

Tech and tech adjacent fields have an obsession with hard work and its dangerous because it's created this narrative that if you've been laid off, or haven’t succeeded in meeting a goal, it’s because you didn’t work hard enough.

Just because something didn’t work out, doesn’t necessarily mean you should have worked harder.

Great performance in athletics requires short bursts of concentrated, intense effort, followed by rest and recovery. Like athletes, if we don't rest our minds become cognitively impaired.

Take that break.
Take that nap.
Take that vacation.
