Nitin Gadkari recently mentioned how he rejected Reliance's tender to make the Mumbai-Pune Expressway cost-effective.
He said, “I had rejected Reliance’s tender of Rs 3,600 crore. There was a lot of noise after that. I did that project for Rs 1,600 crore, which would be Rs 20,000 crore today, saving Rs 2,000 crore. Even today, there are no pits and the road is good.”
Dhirubhai was upset initially, but he was a very big person. He said, ‘if I did not get it, I did not get it, but the Mumbai-Pune Expressway is required. He first told me this [building the project at a low cost] wasn’t possible and you do not have the strength to do it, but later when he saw that it [construction of the expressway] was happening fast. He was very happy. He called me and said, ‘you are like my son, if the country finds five-seven people like you, country’s future will change’. He gave me his blessings.”

Ajay Grewal manages just five hours of sleep each night. The rest of his time is divided between his job and teaching children. For the past eight years, he has been offering free tuition to underprivileged students preparing for government job exams. His rooftop coaching has helped over 3,000 students secure government jobs.
Many of his former students, now employed, return to assist with teaching. Ajay’s first batch of the day begins at 6 p.m., and the last session concludes at 3 a.m. For the safety of his female students, he ensures that their classes finish by 10:30 p.m.

🔺Dilkhush Kumar, who hails from a small village in Bihar had to drop out after class 12 due to poor financial condition of his family.
🔺He started to work as a rickshaw puller & a vegetable vendor. Dilkhush wanted to have his own company one day so after being rejected for job interviews he launched Rodbez & started to provide taxi services in Bihar.
He learnt to drive from his father. He started Rodbez with a second-hand Tata Nano but very soon he and his team raised Rs 4 crore and there has been no looking back. Rodbez will also launch its city-to-city services soon.
🔺Rodbez connects customers with taxi drivers for outstation travel of more than 50 km. Dilkhush says that Rodbez aims to connect every village in Bihar through taxi services.
Rodbez has now hired graduates from IIT Guwahati to work for him and many IIM students are also supporting his vision and working part-time, Dilkush has claimed.
🔺As of the present day, over 50,000 people use Rodbez app & has 4000 car in his network.
“A poor child has to struggle a lot to survive. One thing we learn quickly is that respect is not for the person but for the money. The world worships the one who has wealth,” Kumar says.

He used to send ₹500 per month to them, which was used for all their expenses. They often had to borrow money from others. Despite all these struggles, Rawani has come a long way and has achieved much more today.
