I spent 2.5 hours analyzing Karishma Mehta’s LinkedIn strategy.
She has 742,781 followers and posts 3-5 times a week.

Here’s the complete breakdown of what actually works:

📍 Content Mix that drives engagement:
📍 45% - Storytelling from Humans of Bombay (real people, real emotions)
📍 25% - Founder insights and business behind HOB
📍 15% - Vulnerable reflections and gratitude posts
📍 10% - Team appreciation and behind-the-scenes culture
📍 5% - Book recommendations, podcast clips, and community shoutouts

📍 The secret behind her high-converting profile:
📍 Headline: Founder & CEO of Humans of Bombay | Storyteller | Author – clear, concise, credibility-rich
📍 About section: Shares her purpose-driven journey of starting HOB and her “why”
📍 Featured section: HOB podcast episodes, interviews, and milestone campaigns
📍 Experience: Results-driven growth of the brand → reach, virality, impact
📍 Posting strategy: Emotion-first content that leads with depth over trendiness

📍 What makes her different:
📍 Leads with empathy and storytelling – not clickbait
📍 Doesn’t use jargon – writes like she speaks
📍 Creates “relatable nostalgia” through human stories
📍 Mixes content formats (carousels, videos, text posts) intentionally
📍 Uses gratitude and reflection to build emotional trust with followers

📍 Content themes that got her here:
📍 Everyday heroes: From chai sellers to single moms to cancer warriors
📍 Entrepreneurial transparency: Challenges of running a story-led brand
📍 Milestone reflections: 10 years of HOB, turning 30, finding purpose
📍 Personal philosophy: Choosing kindness, embracing silence, gratitude
📍 Team-building culture: How she empowers her team and community

📍 The strategy that actually worked:
📍 Phase 1 (0–100K): Daily storytelling from the streets of Bombay
📍 Phase 2 (100K–500K): Launching books, podcast, deeper founder presence
📍 Phase 3 (500K+): Community-focused content + brand campaigns + speaking
📍 Now: 3–5 posts/week that balance HOB stories + Karishma’s voice + behind-the-scenes

📍 Most people miss what actually matters:
While others chase metrics, Karishma focuses on:
📍 Emotional connection over performance-driven vanity
📍 Consistency in tone even across different formats
📍 Building goodwill through thank-you notes and acknowledgment
📍 Scaling storytelling without losing authenticity
📍 Letting the story breathe — not rushing to the CTA

That’s how you go from a side project on Facebook to one of India’s most-followed creators on LinkedIn.

Hope this helps!

📍2 years back, an astrologer had told my mom business is not for her. She would fail at it.

📍2 years later, my yearly CTC (in my last job) is my monthly income now.

Does that mean astrology is a waste? Probably not.

But I never let that person's words become my destiny.

In your life, you will feel, hear and believe in things that can be right or wrong but not taking your shot is the worst thing that you can do to yourself.

If you are reading this post right now,

- Take that action that you have been meaning to take and planning like crazy.

3-step approach that works for me -

1. Writing down what will I lose if I do this or I don't do this.
2. What's stopping me to take action?
3. Do I really need a point 3 to start?

If there is anything like Monday motivation: Let this be that for you!

“It won’t work out” - I remember one of our initial clients telling us this.

I don’t know if they meant our partnership won’t work out or our business, but since then - we have done everything to make it work.

In the last 3 months, we have doubled our revenue by doing the following -

1. Monetising our newsletter
2. Finding partner agencies in Canada, US and Dubai to white label our services
3. Cold outreach to big twitter influencers to help them grow their newsletters (as we have grown ours)
4. Increase the number of offerings via our academy (1-2 masterclasses every month)
5. Hiring a manager so that we can expand in terms of our services
6. Building lead magnets and case studies
7. Pitching to all founders who have been attending some big events this month.

Moral of the story - Whenever I and Vedika Bhaia have seen our boat sinking, we have made sure to fire fight.

And we are going to share all our lead generation experiments in our next 2-day lead generation masterclass.

📍Happening on - 31st March - 1st April
📍Timing - 8-10 pm (so your working hours won’t be disturbed)

Link to register: https://lnkd.in/d4HiKTxy

What will you learn about -

--> How to make lead magnets
--> How to make content buckets
--> 3 lead generation methods from Twitter
--> How to pitch your prospects (with done for you scripts)
--> How to message unlimited people on LinkedIn
--> How to sell your services to agencies

Ps - This is 100X better than whatever we have done so far. Come and be a part of this madness.

And 2 years later……she took her first business trip.

I am a pandemic entrepreneur.

2020 - 2021 - Shook my world both personally and professionally. I grew wings I did not know existed.

Now, I come from a place where girls are not allowed to travel. So it was very awkward for my orthodox family to gulp in the idea of travelling for business.

But trust me, it was worth the long talks, convincing and arguments.

Over last 5 days, I met 30 entrepreneurs to understand the Bangalore business ecosystem. Understanding what makes them feel alive.

I also visited my existing clients after working with them for close to 1.5 years.

And what I saw in the last 5 days will always remain close to my heart.

From understanding how to board my first flight to making the most of a sponsored trip.

From falling for the Bangalore palace to falling for the Bangalore ‘work from cafe’ culture - My world did turn around in a different direction.

And to be honest, 5 years down the line, I would revisit this post and attach a picture of all the destinations I have visited for business…because now there is no stopping.

But it did take 2 years to reach here.

PS - There is no shortcut.
PSS - Sometimes, you need to argue with people you love to get what you deserve.

Can’t be more grateful at the moment.

There are 10000000 things that are not working right now……but I am still typing this post while smiling like an idiot.

That’s the power of working on your dreams.

And I know you are working on them, just like me and anyone else.
