NDA promised 400 seats and reached 292. INDIA alliance promised nothing & reached 234.
292 over 234 is a strong 25% higher achievement but still NDA is being criticised for underperforming from their promise. Lesson - Never commit any number to your manager.

A colleague of ours had body odour. It was weird to tell him that so we secretly kept a deodorant on his desk. The next day he came smelling nice but two days later he was again smelling like a dead mouse. We again kept a deodorant at his desk. Next day he smelled nice but two days later again he smelled funny. We all decided to make a kitty and keep a deodrant at his desk every alternate day till he gets the message. This went on for 60 bottles, then we got frustrated & changed our approach. As a revenge we all stopped using deodrant. In just 10 days we started seeing positive results. All other department stopped talking to us & our workload significantly decreased. From what I have heard Managemement is contemplating putting our whole team on permanent work from home. 😊

India, Recession and You.

Recession is holding Britain with its hair. Dozens of other western & eastern countries are facing troubling economic slow down but India is safe. You know why? It’s because of you and some good marketing.

Over 60% of Indian population is in its professionally productive years (20-64). In the last 6 years, campaigns such as ‘Mutual Funds Sahi Hai’ have popularised SIPs so much that this population has increased their monthly investments in the markets through SIPs from from 3000 Crores to 12000 Crores. The market has this constant flow of cash regardless of things going south globally. India’s youth is self sufficiently supporting its market.

All this money you give to the market comes back to you in the form of better compensations, better job security, better returns on investments and better sleep at night.

Do not worry as some firms are laying off, some people are losing jobs.. the Indian market will absorb everyone back. It has money, opportunities and the ambition. Stay strong.

Sunday Scribbles.

My boss underwent a training on managing emotions where he learnt some breathing excercises to manage Anger. Now whenever he is angry he takes 4 deep breaths, gets recharged, and shouts at us even longer than what he used to earlier.

My HR tells me “Do not take stress of work.” My Boss tells me “Why don’t you take any stress of work?” I think these two should talk.

The CFO went to the CEO and said, “October's performance has been terrible. Sales are at 40% of target, service revenues at 35%, and overall EBITDA at 42%. When I asked the sales head what has he been doing? he said he's been busy with the office Diwali celebrations. He also told me that he won first prize in the ‘Hair Bun Competition.’ The service head was busy bursting balloons with a needle in his mouth and his hands tied behind his back. You must do something!“
The CEO looked at the CFO and said, “Next time, get your facts checked before approaching me.“ After a pause, he added, “I won the Hair Bun Competition.“
