We should value our mental health above everything. Finding a career we love is step number one.
Last week was Mental Health Awareness Day where we bring awareness and attention to the issue.
Statistics show that 60% of people say their work environment and career affects their mental health over everything else.
When we work in a career and environment we love, weâre able to truly grow and thrive.
Hereâs are 5 steps to pivot into a career we love:
â
1 // Clarify our values. We first need to decide whatâs most important in our career, whether itâs money, remote environment, or overall fulfillment.
â
2 // Take inventory of our skills. Next, we can make a list of our best skills. Write this list and mark them in importance from 1 to 10, with 10 being most valuable skill.
â
3 // Use ChatGPT. Then, head to AI and give it a list of your top skills. Ask it to give you ideas of what would be the best careers that would utilize those skills.
â
4// Leverage LinkedIn. Once weâve discovered our dream careers, start researching on LinkedIn to find companies that match these job titles.
â
5 // Network. Spend the next 3 to 6 months networking with people at those companies and in our dream field or work environment.
Itâs true that networking is the best way to transition into a new career.
Remember, youâre looking for a work environment where you can thrive. Letâs invest the time necessary to grow our career in the right direction.
Question - Whatâs the best advice you can give someone who is looking for their dream career?
Question 2 - What do you think about this 5-step process? What else would you add?
