You know that feeling when you write a post and then delete it?

I do that too.
Way more times than I would like to admit.

Because I feel like-

→ Who am I to talk about this?
→ What if people think I'm an idiot?

Yeah, that's imposter syndrome saying hi.

It's not just about writing though.

It shows up everywhere-

→ When you're in a meeting and stay quiet because others have better ideas
→ When you get appreciation but think they're just being nice
→ When you achieve something but feel it was just luck

But here’s the thing-
The more you grow, the louder it gets.

I preach all the time on LinkedIn that-
don't wait to become an expert, most people here aren't one.

But my brain still goes-
→ You can't write about stuff.
→ You need more experience.
→ Someone else can explain it better.

The reality is that everyone's figuring it out as they go. Even the people you look up to.

Someone will always know more than you.
That doesn't make your perspective less valuable.

Stop waiting to feel ready.
Stop waiting to feel like you know everything.

The only way to beat imposter syndrome?

Accept that it's there and do whatever you want regardless.

P.S.: Big weekend plans?

Sending a connection request?

Please don’t make these mistakes.

I receive and send hundreds of connection requests every week and trust me it’s very very easy to stand out.

→ Empty box

Don’t send one without a personalized note unless you know the person really well.

It’s like sending an email without a subject.

→ Generic stuff

People receive tons of requests saying “I love your content, let’s connect” and so many versions of it.

Point out specifically what you like about their content and why you want to connect.

→ It’s give and take

You like someone’s content? Just follow them then why to connect?

You need to add some value for them to connect with you. Tell them how connecting can be mutually beneficial.

I hope this helps you to send a lot more structured and effective connection requests.

P.S.: What’s the most strange connection request that you’ve received?

I deleted LinkedIn from my phone.

For the past four days, I disappeared from the face of this platform.

I didn’t open the app every 5 minutes to check how my post did, didn’t feel bad over losing a follower, and didn’t worry about responding to my DMs.

Let’s just say it was a Li-detox.

It was Diwali, a long weekend, and I got sick.

I did feel a little guilty opening the app today and seeing everyone’s posts from the weekend but it’s okay.

The break was needed, I was obsessing over not-so-important stuff a little too much.

But I’m back and ready to yap.
Plus, I have a super cool opportunity for you.

Convert With Copy is doing this huge event, can’t reveal all the details yet but trust me it’s gonna be the event of a lifetime.

And we are looking for interns to join our event-organizing team.

The duration is 3 months with completely remote work, flexible working hours, and a chance to land a role at CwC based on exceptional performance.

More details are in the form.

Fill it out to apply- https://lnkd.in/g3NnzUGH

P.S.: How was your Diwali?

Let me de-influence your LinkedIn experience.

I have seen this so much on Instagram so wanted to make a LinkedIn version.

It's completely normal to:

Not post every single day
Get barely any engagement
Skip using the trending templates
Not have the perfect profile picture
Have zero professional photoshoots
Have more drafts than published posts
Need inspiration before every new post
Run out of content ideas once in a while

You don't need:

A fancy banner
Growth hacking tactics
Professional headshots
Daily motivation quotes
To copy what worked for others

People will tell you:
“Post 3 times a day“
“Always add a picture“
“Copy this viral format“
“Use these exact hashtags“

But here's the truth:
What worked for them might not work for you.
And that's perfectly fine.

Quality over quantity.
Authenticity over algorithms.
Your pace over peer pressure.

Remember you'll learn much more about what works for you from doing things instead of just reading about them.

P.S.: What's one LinkedIn “rule“ you're happy breaking?

LinkedIn increases your reach if you do these things.

And no, it’s not a lecture on authenticity.

The platform isn't just about posting job updates anymore.

Here's what is working right now-

→ Text-only posts aren't enough

↳ You don’t wanna post pictures? Completely understandable.
↳ Try mixing it up with carousels and polls. ↳ LinkedIn wants to be more visually engaging and these things help.

→ Stop the networking game

↳ Adding 100 random people won't help.
↳ Build real connections with 10 people who actually care about your content.

→ Engagement pods are dead

↳ The algorithm catches fake engagement instantly.
↳ Those “great insights“ comments? They're killing your reach.

→ CTAs that make sense

↳ Don't beg for likes and comments.
↳ Ask questions your audience actually cares about answering.

→ Your profile isn't your resume

↳ Nobody cares about your job title as much as you think.
↳ Share your journey, your learnings, and your failures.

But the thing is-

LinkedIn isn't just about running after followers or going viral.

It's about building your credibility in your space.

The moment you stop obsessing over numbers and start focusing on value, the vain metrics will automatically follow.

P.S.: What mistakes did you make when you started here?
