India Today Indian B School Rankings that came out recently gave me two specific reasons to celebrate. One: My alma mater IIM Calcutta was rated No1. Two: The institute where I am an Adjunct Professor of Marketing SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) came in the top 5. Double reasons to celebrate. Let us also not forget that ranking is just a number. I have had the privilege of interacting with students and alma mater of almost all the top 10 B schools. I think the quality of students in all these schools is top class. Finally it is what they do after they graduate makes the real difference, not just the B School, its rank or their own CGPA. But still 2 in top 5 is worth celebrating, no?
