Couldn’t be prouder to be part of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games tonight in Paris - Danone’s historic home! A once-in-a-lifetime moment, shared with many Danoners from around the globe.

A huge congratulations to our teams, who have been working round-the-clock for the past several months to prepare for this summer and bring 4 million products to athletes and spectators alike at several competition sites and venues.

Wishing all the best to our partner athletes, to our 25 Danoners running the Olympics Marathon – as well as all my fellow French compatriots competing in the Games! A special message to Antoine Dupont: Antoine, great game against Argentina. Go for gold!

I was thrilled to visit our state-of-the-art factory in Opole, Poland a few days ago, where we announced a 50m€ investment into new advanced production capacity.

This will greatly expand our adult medical nutrition production capacity, creating products to meet consumer, customer, and patient needs. Result: millions more adult patients potentially served. This strategic investment in Opole, our second biggest factory, truly represents the Renew Danone strategy and our mission in action.

With this new chapter of Renew, we project ourselves forward and start building the Danone of tomorrow: a science-based and consumer centric company, delivering more than ever on its mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible, and doing so in a sustainable way.

On the one hand, we must double down on what is making the success of Renew: a relentless focus on consumer and customer and an obsession with great execution and consistent delivery.

On the other hand, we are opening further growth spaces by pivoting the way we look at our categories, broadening the way our products reach our consumers and patients and further expanding our geographic footprint.

Our Renewable Danone journey continues and looks more exciting than ever.

This morning we released our 2022 first semester results. This first strong half, with broad based progress despite an unprecedented external environment, is a testimony to the resilience, the focus and the engagement of all employees. I am mighty proud of the Danoners and grateful for all the efforts and dedication without which none of this would have been possible.
 
We have started deploying our Renew Danone agenda with discipline and consistency, further accelerating our growth in Q2 and showing good momentum across many facets of our business. Not only do we do this, but we also keep driving our purpose. Most recent example is our progress in becoming a fully certified B Corp: 70% of our total net sales are now covered by B Corp certification. This is a remarkable achievement. Once again, congrats to all the teams involved in making it happen.
 
While the quality of our first half delivery is encouraging this is only the start of our Renew journey: we believe there is still much we can do to bring Danone where we want it to be and deliver on both our purpose and our business ambition. This is our collective goal and where I know all Danoners will keep focusing their efforts.
