It took place at the Lauder Breast Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Is this the future of prosthetic feet?

SoftFoot Pro mimics the biomechanics of a real human foot—without motors, just pure engineering brilliance.

“Developed by the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) and the University of Pisa, this flexible, waterproof prosthetic is not just for people with limb loss. It’s also designed for the humanoid robots of the future.“

It can adapt to uneven terrain; and supports up to 100kg.
Huge news today!

A paralysed man who has had a complete cut to his spinal cord has been able to walk again thanks to an implant developed by a team of Swiss researchers. They published the method in Nature Medicine.

“Michel Roccati was paralysed after a motorbike accident five years ago. But he can now walk - because of an electrical implant that has been surgically attached to his spine.

The researchers stress that it isn't a cure for spinal injury and that the technology is still too complicated to be used in everyday life, but hail it nonetheless as a major step to improving quality of life.“ - writes BBC News.

This is the meme of the year!

What can we learn from that?

1) Don't share blind predictions that don't contribute to present decision-making.
2) Don't share any predictions in fields you don't know enough about.
3) Never underestimate the power, knowledge and impact of physicians on patients.

What else?
