DeeKay Tool is an After Effects character rigging tool script built by MDS and stylized by me! It contains functions for creating limbs, style the limbs, workflow boosters, presets of walk cycles built-in, and a bunch of other cool stuff. I use this tool for almost all of my characters now. 😁

I created this piece five years ago, and it’s one of those rare pieces I don’t dislike as much compared to my other works. Most of my older artworks have a short window where I love them, then slowly I don’t.

There are so many things I’d do differently now, things I think would improve it. But I also like the past DeeKay, the one who lacked some skills, had a few loose screws, was less wise but deeply passionate, just raw. I miss the old me.

Five years can change so much. I switched careers from motion designer to independent artist, moved to a different city, fell into depression and climbed out, made a lot of money and lost a lot of money, got older and maybe a little wiser, gained some white hair and a belly. And here I am, still believing in destiny, just like that innocent young DeeKay I try so hard not to lose as I grow older.

I like this piece, and I hope you do too. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone. May destiny guide you to the love meant for you.
