🚨 University of Houston students have launched a hunger strike in solidarity with Gaza — demanding their university divest from corporations arming and profiting from apartheid israel’s assault.
Students say UH is complicit through its financial investments and research partnerships with leading U.S. weapons manufacturers — including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Electric, and Northrop Grumman — whose fighter jets, bombs, and missile systems are being used in Gaza.
UH also reportedly invests over $13 million in corporations that sustain Israel’s military and surveillance infrastructure, such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Intel, Nvidia, Wells Fargo, and Capital One.
The strike is part of the Houston Arms Embargo campaign, a citywide initiative to end Houston’s role in the global arms trade. Components for F-35 fighter jets and MK83 bombs are shipped through the Port of Houston — just 30 minutes from campus.
Student demands:
1️⃣ Divest from all companies complicit in occupation and genocide
2️⃣ Cancel all research contracts with military corporations
3️⃣ Remove brands like Coca-Cola, Sabra, Starbucks & Pizza Hut from campus
4️⃣ Declare UH a Sanctuary Campus, free from ICE collaboration
“Universities should not be laboratories for genocide,” said one organizer. “From Gaza to the U.S.-Mexico border, the same technologies of repression connect our struggles.” (MPN)

International law is not a magic wand, but a tool forged by the struggles of oppressed peoples. It works only when we make it work. The question is no longer whether the world sees the truth, but what we will do with this knowledge.
