I am salaried and pay slightly above 30% of my CTC in direct tax. I don’t have any option to stop this. So 1/3 of the salary is already gone before I get it.

Now with the 2/3, I have to pay indirect taxes.
18% GST on Services,
28% GST on Consumer Electronics,
80% plus on Fuel,
10-20% on Capital Gains,
5-12% on almost all the items that I use.
This burden is on everybody in the country.

So if I’m working for 22 days a month, atleast 12 days of it goes for government/nation building and 10 days is for me.

What we get in return,
1. Scared of a society to raise voice against bullying,
2. ⁠Murders gets free by writing apology letter,
3. ⁠Rich get richer and poor gets poorer,
4. Prices of all necessity items sky rocketing,
5. A Nation worried about Hindu-Muslim and not growth.

India’s dream of being a $30 trillion economy by 2047, will only materialize if India takes care of the human capital and make common man feel safe to exhibit his democratic rights.
I cleared engineering with 52.7%. I got placed in Amazon with this aggregate in a walk-in interview. I came out of Amazon as a Program Manager in the Retail Category Team working with amazing colleagues from all the top institutions of India.
