Open space offices are so yesterday. The future is pool based offices.

I quit my job. My wife and I just had my first born child.

I had zero savings and was in debt.

I took over one of our rooms in our two bedroom apartment as my office and got to work.

I knew I wanted to do my own thing but had no real skills.

I buckle down and got resourceful.

I consumed everything I could about digital marketing.

I worked 15-18 hour days, 7 days week for months.

I felt like I needed to put my digital marketing learnings into practice.

So I offered digital marketing services for free to a few family members and friends who had small businesses.

I hustled my butt off.

I built their websites for free.

I slammed their websites with relevant traffic.

I made their phones ring off the hook with more leads then they could handle.

I had one family beg me to turn the marketing off because he was so swamped & overwhelmed by the leads. :)

Finally, I had enough confidence to open my own digital marketing agency.

I made a huge mistake right off the top.

I charged way too little to be profitable & still hire a team.

I learned to charge more.

I learned to sell.

I hustled more.

I scaled.

4 years later I merged my company with Canada's fastest growing digital marketing agency called Powered by Search

I've never looked back!
OK, I am now a standing in a puddle of my own tears after watching this video.

I hope it brightens your day like it did mine.

We did our first Founders Fridays Walk (in Toronto)! Had 28-ish people out. It will happen every Friday.

If you're interested in joining the next one, just DM me and I'll send over a calendar invite.

What is the Friday Founder Walks (in Toronto)?

It’s not a mastermind, not a networking event — just founders (or CEOs) walking and talking.

No agenda. No slides. Just space to think, swap stories, and connect with others who get it.

This is not meant to be an exercise.  Just a nice chill way to start your Fridays by connecting with some like-minded people.

When: Every Friday (rain or shine) at 7:30 - 8:30 am

It's on the east side of Toronto (meeting location is Withrow Park)
The walk is approximately 4 km long and takes about 40 minutes to complete.
Its meeting location is Withrow Park.
We end at the Riverdale Perk coffee shop (beside Withrow Park), so you can grab your caffeine fix (if that's something you do).

Lots of free parking around the park at that time in the morning.

If you’re a founder (or CEO) in Toronto, DM me and I’ll share more details (and a calendar link invite).

Please feel free to show up whenever it's convenient for you.

Thanks to Edyta McKindsey for taking this video.

Some great folks who attended were Rahul Raj, Andrew Spicer, Adam Gellert, Jamie Mckindsey, Benjamin Dryden, Carlos Morales, Kseniia Ivanova... and many more! If you were there and I didn't get a chance to chat, the good news is that there's another one next week and every week thereafter!

The Toronto founder scene is strong!
