The vision of an advanced, sustainable gateway to the Red Sea has come to fruition with Red Sea International Airport (RSI). Designed by the renowned architects Foster + Partners, this state-of-the-art facility redefines the travel experience through its blend of luxury, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
RSI initially served domestic flights from Riyadh and Jeddah and has expanded to include international services, starting with flights from Dubai International operated by flydubai. Its strategic location at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa enhances accessibility, drawing visitors from across the globe.
The airport’s design integrates striking aesthetics with innovative sustainability features. Inspired by the desert landscape, RSI utilizes natural ventilation and shading techniques to reduce reliance on air conditioning, supporting its goal of operating entirely on renewable energy and achieving carbon neutrality.
With a peak capacity of 900 passengers per hour, RSI is expected to accommodate around one million passengers annually by 2030. Advanced technologies, including touchless smart luggage systems, ensure a seamless travel experience.
As RSI continues to develop, more international destinations are anticipated, further establishing it as a premier global travel hub.
