I don't care how educated you are.
I don't care how rich you are.
I don't care how popular you are.
I don't care how famous you are.
I don't care how talented you are.

How you treat others who can do nothing for you tells all.

"No thanks, I'm staying sober have a lot to do tomorrow."
"I can't, I'm working over the weekend."
"Thanks for asking, but I'm working on eating healthier."
"Appreciate the invite, but I'm focused on my goals."

They will call you boring.
They will call you lame.
They will mock and shame you.

But remember... most importantly, they will merely be watching from the sidelines when you win the game. Follow the plan, not your mood.

In college I got arrested 6 times.
In college I was 100 pounds overweight.
In college I was constantly drinking.
In college I was doing drugs.
In college I was constantly watching Netflix.
In college I was always eating junk food.

I was consistently doing the absolute worst things for my future. I was “consistent“ but in the completely wrong direction. I was consistently moving away from my life goals. If you find yourself consistently acting on bad habits. To change all of this terrible behavior. I changed one thing in my life. I hope this helps one of you.

I asked myself “What do I need to stop doing daily? What will get me closer to my goals if I stop doing one habit today?“ Once you stop one bad behavior at a time, and consistently add better ones. Things get much better. It's not easy but it also is not easy to be miserable. You have to make a choice. Momentum can either work for or against you. Use it to your advantage.

Now I'm the CEO of a portfolio that crossed $250M in revenue. Your past does not define your future as long as you are willing to leave the past behind.

Yelling at employees doesn’t make you a respectable boss.
Yelling at employees makes you lazy.

Guiding employees with patience and constructive feedback fosters growth, builds trust, and drives better results than any raised voice ever could.

Develop your people and they develop the business.
Invest in your people and they invest in the business.
Grow your people and they will help grow the business.

It's a two-way street.

My profile may show you that I'm a successful entrepreneur with a successful company. But there's a lot that you don't see.

At 19, I was overweight, broke, drowning myself in alcohol and completely lost.
At 23, I started my first business.
At 28, I crossed $100M net worth.

I didn’t complain. I didn’t wait for someone to save me. And I didn’t waste my 20s partying, chasing status, or hoping life would magically work out with a silver bullet.

I made a decision: I was going to take my life SERIOUSLY. I was going to live for myself, not others. I was going to do what was right for me despite the judgment and criticism from others.

I moved across the country. I learned sales and marketing. I invested in real skills instead of distractions or gimmicks. And because of that, I built a life I’m proud to say is mine because I fought for every inch.

Too many women waste their best years waiting - waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect opportunity, the perfect partner, the perfect mentor, the perfect friend.

But the truth is, no one is coming to save you. If you want more, start now. Learn. Build. Invest in yourself. Do the hard things today so your future self thanks you.

Fastest way to lose respect as a leader:

Avoid hard conversations.

People won't say it to your face but they will remember that you have avoided the hard conversation that you were supposed to have.

Every time you dodge the truth you lose respect. Every time you don't address a challenging situation you lose respect.

Real leaders tackle challenges with a sense of urgency and still are able to handle it with grace.

If you’re the most driven person in your group, you’re in the wrong group.

If you're the only person in your group working on the weekends, you’re in the wrong group.

"I'm sorry sweetie who are you? The f*$%^!g secretary?"
True story.

Me and Alex were on a call to close a deal. The other company's CEO said this to me directly: "I'm sorry sweetie who are you? The f*$%^!g secretary?" The moment I heard I new that I get to decide what type of woman I am.

There are thousands of different ways to respond to him. I had my choice. In a very calm manner I said "No I'm not the secretary. I'm the co-founder, I own 50% and I am the CEO."

If anyone wants to discredit you, even though there's overwhelming evidence of your success... they can do whatever they want. Let them discredit you. Says way more about them, has nothing to do with you. They have the right do that.

I also have the right to never do business with you.

I wish someone told me this before:

Nothing about success feels successful while you're building it.

You'll feel behind.
You'll doubt yourself daily.
You'll want to quit.

But the truth is, every winner felt this way.
You're in good company.

If you want to hire the best Director of Marketing and list $50,000 - $55,000 as the salary range in the job description...

I can assure you that you will NOT get THE BEST Director of Marketing in the world. Top-tier talent that knows their value would never undersell themselves.

If you're looking to hire the best, your offer needs to exceed their expectations. I promise you if they are the best... 10 other companies are trying to hire them.

If you don’t like what you’re getting from your team - look at what you’re giving them.

The paradox of life:

Most of the best things in life feel wrong before they feel right.

Don’t confuse discomfort with danger.

Eventually, it will feel just right.
I DON'T hire people like me.

Why?

Because of similarity bias.

We naturally want to be with people similar to us. But we end up with homogenous teams.

Same people, similar traits.

No diversity of thinking.

We need different perspectives to grow.

Just 8 years ago:
⃗⃗→ We ate at 7-Eleven.
⃗⃗→ Slept in extended stays.
⃗⃗→ Had $1,000 saved after 19 months of work.

Recently:
⃗⃗→ Our companies crossed $250,000,000 in revenue.
⃗⃗→ We bought our first headquarters here in Las Vegas.
⃗⃗→ We grew holding company team at acquisition (dot) com to 50 people.

Success is accessible to anyone willing to do the work required.Big visions never make sense to small-minded people. If you want to have a greater impact. You’ll have to make greater sacrifices.

My message to you: Don’t let anybody kill your dreams ❤️
Let people judge you.
Let people misunderstand you.
Let people talk behind your back.

What people choose to project on to you is not your problem and it certainly doesn’t pay your bills.

True peace is acting as you want. Acting without the fear of judgment from strangers.

If you hire someone.
Then ignore their input.
Then tell them exactly what to do.
Then they do it... and it fails.
And you blame them for the outcome.
You shouldn’t be leading them.
You should be learning from them.

After a decade and 4 businesses being 50/50 partners with my husband Alex Hormozi, for the first time ever we are welcoming our new Partner and President of Acquisition.com

Welcome Sharran Srivatsaa to the team. I’ve known Sharran for 6+ years and not only is he someone I deeply respect and admire as a business leader, but as a human.

It’s easy to find people who can be successful in business and know how to make money, but it is not easy to find people who can grow multiple billion dollar businesses, while also being an amazing father, friend, spouse, boss.

Sharran helped us start Acquisition.com behind the scenes, and I’m so grateful and thrilled that now he will be leading from the front driving the vision of Acquisition.com with us.

He’s joining as President of Acquisition.com, leading growth and operations alongside myself and Alex.

Before this, he built and ran the fastest growing real estate brokerage to being worth over a Billion.

Before that he grew Teles from 300M to 3.2 Billion.

Now he’s bringing that level of execution to ACQ.com

Welcome Sharran and here’s to the next Billion Dollar Build, together 🙂

You can watch the full announcement on Alex's channel linked in the comments.

Failure feels permanent when you’re losing.
Neither is true.
Momentum just goes to whoever stays in the game longer.

Your spouse is your life's co-founder.
They will either invest in your dreams or...

bankrupt your confidence.

The person you choose to be your partner affects everything in your life. Your health, success, happiness, relationships, confidence, mental health, physical health... all of it. Choose wisely.

The worst advice I've been given:
"Go with your gut"

A lot of time my gut tells me to run away from my problems.
A lot of time my gut tells me to stop working out.
A lot of time my gut tells me to stop working.

Most of the time my gut reaction is from fear. I don't want to listen to that. Otherwise my life would be only about avoid difficult challenges. I want to do the opposite of my gut reaction.

We are wired to survive and our gut reaction helps us "survive" aka run away from danger and difficulty. This applies in business and in personal life.

Difficult conversation at work... gut reaction is not to have it and avoid it.
Extremely difficult GYM class in the morning... gut reaction is to stay in your cozy bed.

I tend to stick to my plan and not listen to my gut. This is what I do. Does not mean you should do it too. Thought I'd share.

It’s about engineering an environment that makes it easier to succeed than fail.
POV you’re in yap mode but he’s locked in
STOP slouching.
STOP biting your nails.
STOP playing with your hair.
STOP looking different ways.
STOP tapping the table.
STOP fidgeting with your phone.

Try being still.

When you are still, you come across as more poise, in control, and elegant. Those three things are tied to executive presence.

If you see a CEO on stage vs a customer support rep. How do you think they will show up differently?

The CEO is probably going to be have very intentional gestures. They are going to use their hands and voice to tell a story.

The customer support rep might be rambling, fidgeting, talking extremely fast, rubbing their hands, and looking around.

You get the point. If you want to be more respected at work start doing these.

Fastest way to succeed at nothing:

The moment it gets uncomfortable jump ship.

Chase the next "shiny" thing.

This can apply to business, relationships, fitness, mental health, bad habits etc.

You don't need to start a "new" thing, you just need to spend time to fix the one you already have.

Your ability to execute is directly tied to your energy.

If you’re running on fumes, so is your business.

Lmk if this was helpful :)

Try being okay with being still 🧘🏻

They chase being useful.
