My daughter asked me to play princesses this morning.

I had a pitch deck open.
Two client emails waiting.
A Sunday "just checking in" from a prospect I have been chasing for weeks.

I closed the laptop.

For the next 45 minutes, I was Prince Dad.
I wore a plastic crown.
I drank imaginary tea.
I was knighted with a wand that lights up and plays music.

Here is what I have learned being a girl dad:
She does not care about my title.
She does not care about my pipeline.
She does not care about my LinkedIn impressions.

She cares that I showed up.
Fully.
Not half-present with my phone buzzing in my pocket.

The same thing my clients care about.
The same thing my team cares about.
The same thing everyone cares about.

Presence is the whole game.

Not productivity. Not optimization. Not efficiency.

Just being there. Actually there.

The tea party ended. She moved on to the next thing in about 4 seconds. Kids do that.

But I sat there for a minute. Plastic crown still on.

Thinking about how easy it is to miss the stuff that matters while chasing the stuff that feels urgent.

Happy Sunday.
Hope you are doing something meaningful with your loved ones.
