Hypocrisy in software engineering.

During interviews: if candidates sort an array using list.sort(), rejected.

Code Review in the company: what the hell is this, use list.sort().
Recently, Justice Jyoti Singh from Delhi High Court passed a judgement.

“that if an employee's resignation has been accepted by a previous employer, a new employer cannot cancel the appointment, provided the employee passed all selection criteria“.

This ruling is a significant step toward smoother job transitions and greater job security.

Many candidates worry about :
1. Offer withdrawals.
2. Role not required.
3. Hiring got freeze.
4. and many more

*I Hope this sets a precedent for other countries to follow!
Good work Disney+ Hotstar team's on-call.

Millions of concurrent viewers. One word “Mind blowing“.

Time to appreciate the real tech Heroes.
The time taken by Elon Musk in buying Twitter is less than companies taking time in giving result of interviews or rolling out the offer.
Why you should be good at Data structure and Algorithm ?

1. Because your multiple years of work is not good enough to get promoted in your company. But 2 rounds of Data Structure can get you to senior role in other company.

2. Your company might not give you hike more than 10%, but 2 rounds of DSA can give you 100% hike.

*No matter how better you are at system design. If you can't solve the DSA problem. You are gone.
In USA if you work for more than 40 hours per week, Company gives overtime pay to the employee. Overtime pay is generally 1 to 1.5 times the hourly pay.

Meanwhile in India, Youngster need to work for 70 hours per week. That too with 4LPA.

I came to know a guy who is saying he got 73 offers in 3 months. But he is not joining any one.

I have 2 things to say.

1. Giving 73 interviews in 90 days seems exhausting.
2. 3 idiots dialogue. jab MBA kar ke bank me naukri karni thi toh MBA se pehle engineering q kiya ?. Same jab join hi nahi karna tha 73 companies me apply hi q kiya ?

khud ka bhi time waste and companies ka bhi.
I see two kinds of post in my Linkedin feed regarding Uber 2 crores offers.

Category 1:

1. His base is 90 lakhs not 2 crores. 140000 usd is for shares which will be divided in four years. Media is creating a hype.
2. 280K USD is an average offer in California.
3. There is only 30% change that he will go to USA as only 85K H1B visa is given in a year. There were more than 250K applications in 2021.

Category 2 :
1. Congratulations.
2. God bless you.

It doesn't matter whether its 280K usd or 4 lakhs INR. Both are dreams of millions.
70 hours work per week.

Came to know the statement again made by Infosys CEO Narayana Murthy.

Now, I also support this.

Work for Infosys for 40 hours, since you are being paid for 40 hours per week only.

Work for 30 more hours on your skills. Once you have better skills, find a better job that pay's more than 3.5 LPA Infosys CTC (i.e $4K per year) and leave the company.
I have worked with many good managers and 2 great managers in my 7+ years of experience.

Both the great managers have one thing in common:

“They provides their own work updates in the standup along with other team members”.
As a software developer in Amazon, Mostly I have written code in Java.

I've had the privilege of delving deep into the world of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning to supercharge the performance of our applications. JVM tuning is like fine-tuning a race car – it's about achieving the perfect balance between memory utilization, garbage collection, and code execution.

🔍 Mastering the JVM:
The JVM powers Java apps, but it needs proper configuration. Tuning involves finding the right heap size (-Xms and -Xmx) and selecting the best garbage collection strategy.

🚦 Garbage Collection Strategies:
Choosing the right algorithm (-XX:+Use...GC) – like Parallel or G1 – impacts response times and memory usage.

🔧 Fine-Tuning JVM Args:
Flags like -XX:+Use...GC define collection algorithms. Tweaking them optimizes memory and collection behavior.

⚙️ Profiling for Precision:
Tools like VisualVM uncover performance bottlenecks – from hotspots to memory leaks – guiding informed tuning.

📈 Measuring Impact:
Benchmark changes to ensure reduced response times and better memory usage.

🔄 Iterative Excellence:
JVM tuning isn't one-shot. Evolving apps mean regularly revisiting parameters for continued high performance.

US vs India : Layoff & Salary & Product Price.

We are living in era where Price of Product of Big Tech are either same or more in India than US ( like iPhones, Cloud Platform charges, MacBooks, Car, Twitter Blue Tick).

And Salaries in India are less than 30% of US salary by the same company.

While layoff % are either same or more in India than US by the same company.

Literally, I don’t understand the above economics.
See, how strong your passwords are.

Just an advise to young developers who are not able to maintain a balance between their work and life.

Be the rockstar between your 9 - 5 work for which you are getting paid.

Enjoy the rest without thinking of above. Your company is not your family. But since you are getting paid for it, So give your best too.

Example : Even the most popular visa H1-B states that you have to maintain a Employer-Employee Relationship, Not family relationship with your employer.
Sorry to interrupt your scrolling.

I just wanted to say, may God bless you !
If you are making X in your company.

Working too much at the stake of your work life balance, simply doesn't make sense just to make 10%-20% more next year. Your life is not gonna change much with 10-20% increase in salary.

If you really want to spend that time then you should use that time to make something big that have potential either to make your income from X to 10X or your family time quality 10 times.

It's just my thought.
Do you think it's correct ? Feel free to add your thoughts too.
