Today in Brussels, I welcomed Italy’s new Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to the European Parliament, for her first visit to an EU institution.

We had an open and constructive conversation on the challenges that all Europeans - including Italians - are facing. On skyrocketing energy prices, on spiralling inflation, on Europe’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

We know that if we remain united, we will find solutions. That we are stronger if we are together.
