STOP taking things personally…

during initial years of my career, I used to take things personally and bcoz of that many issues used to come whether its work life imbalance, mental frustration.

Just one example out of many:

Back then, whenever i found out that there is an OPEN bug on the flow which i have touched or in my code, i take it personally and feel obliged that i should resolve it and i used to start working on it.

But one thing i have learned with now 9year of experience is, don’t take things personally, even your written code is not yours it belongs to the company and do the task as per company process and only in a company working time.

Who hired him/her?

If any new engineer joined your team (fresher or experienced doesn’t matter).

They need some time to ramp up and during that process many times you will get poked while you were busy or you might faced some questions which you feel its too dumb question to ask or you might feel little hand holding you need to do or they are not that fast paced.

But still i strongly believe, while talking with other colleagues or friends, we should never bring that topic “Who hired him/her, they don’t even know this”, “how he/she able to crack interview”.

Because believe me, even if you say, don’t tell anybody, in reality, everyone knows everything sooner or later (as everything circulates).
So thats my opinion, always have open discussion with the engineer, give feedback where he or she need to improve, rather than back talks.
