My Goldman Sachs Interview Experience – Off Campus! ✨
In February 2023, I got the opportunity to interview for a Summer Internship at Goldman Sachs via EHCP. The process was intense yet insightful, with three rounds of interviews—two technical and one behavioral.
Round 1 (Technical 🖥️)
I was asked two DSA questions whose underlying concepts were similar to:
1️⃣ Replicate Stack using a singly linked list
2️⃣ Finding the maximum depth of a tree
Along with DSA, I also got questions on:
✅ Round Robin Algorithm
✅ DBMS query & 3NF
Round 2 (Technical )
More focus on React & Data structure Concepts:
🔹 3NF in databases
🔹 Gaming model scenario → I had to choose the most efficient data structure in JavaScript for score calculations.
🔹 Cookie management vs Local Storage
Round 3 (Behavioral 👥)
This round was all about teamwork, decision-making, and leadership. Some questions:
🔹 How would you handle conflicts in a team during a hackathon?
🔹 How do you make immediate decisions under pressure?
🔹 What technology stacks have you worked with?
The departmental manager then shared insights about the team and tech stack they use.
💡 Pro Tip: I always use the STAR method to answer behavioral questions—it keeps my responses structured and impactful!
Key Takeaways
🚀 DSA is crucial—don’t ignore the fundamentals!
🧠 Know your data structure concepts
🎯 Behavioral rounds matter—be prepared to showcase your teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Would love to hear from others—what’s one interview question that caught you off guard? 👀👇
