Being a Muslim in the corporate workplace can be uncomfortable 😓
However, I felt that how I was treated came down to the barriers I set.
❌ I didn't apologise for having to miss meetings for Friday prayers.
❌ I didn't feel bad that I had less capacity in Ramadan.
❌ I didn't feel burdensome to ask about sharia-compliant pensions.
There are exceptions, but when you present your religion as an option instead of a red line is when problems start to arise.
Take your religion seriously and others will take you seriously too. 🔑
