Our hearts go out to our colleagues, customers, their families and loved ones affected by the devastating situation in Ukraine. Yesterday, I shared the following note with our #TeamAmex colleagues to update them on the steps we are taking in response to this crisis, including giving $1 million in aid toward organizations providing critical assistance to those in need. We have also been taking all necessary steps to comply with government sanctions and will continue to do so as the situation evolves. During these times, our values are what guide us, and we’re working hard to do what’s right for our colleagues, customers, and communities. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this crisis as we continue to hope for peace. You can read more here: https://lnkd.in/gQvJfZGS

I recently connected with our 2023 summer interns as they wrapped up their program across the globe. My key advice to them was to be very intentional about their next step, making sure it aligns with who they are, allows them to be their full authentic selves, and offers space to grow and learn to reach their goals. I’m so excited for what’s ahead of these young, talented, and ambitious professionals. #TeamAmex

Met up with Jim Cramer today at his restaurant, Bar San Miguel, in Brooklyn, to tape a segment for CNBC's Mad Money. We had a great conversation about a range of topics including small businesses.

As a restaurant owner, Jim understands the struggles small businesses have faced during the pandemic. That’s why I was so pleased to share that American Express will be committing another $100M to support small businesses globally this year. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and what make our neighborhoods thrive. They need our continued support as we all get back to doing the things we enjoy the most.

It was an honor sharing my leadership journey with students and alumni of Warrior-Scholar Project, an organization dedicated to supporting military veterans as they transition from service to education.

Our conversation was part of the organization’s Sorenson Seminar Series, named after my late friend and former President and CEO of Marriott International Arne Sorenson, who actively supported Warrior-Scholar Project by serving as a board member and guest lecturer at the organization’s boot camps.

As I shared with the students, seeking out opportunities to constantly learn, build new skills and experiment can open doors to new growth opportunities. And there’s no question that the skills our veterans learn in the military can have a tremendous impact in the business world and beyond. #TeamAmex is proud of our colleagues who have served and grateful for their contributions to our company.
