Hear Her Stories: “Just like no one is ever too young to make a difference, someone is also never too old to make a difference.

94-year-old Rose Valdez took up a new hobby of crocheting when she was 90, and after that, she taught herself how to make woolen hats. Once she taught herself how to make hats, there was no stopping her – she has crocheted thousands of very cozy beanies for her local community of Pueblo, Colorado.

This incredible lady suffers from carpal tunnel and macular degeneration, as well as glaucoma – something that causes her to experience some vision issues. While this doesn’t stop her from crafting, Rose does prefer to crochet in sunny weather, as the natural light helps her to better see the crochet holes.“ ❤️

Do you apologize too much or use self-minimizing language at work?

Research indicates that women often employ self-minimizing or 'softer' language in the workplace and are also more likely to apologize unnecessarily.

How do you change this habit? Simple - swap sorry with thank you and you will be amazed at the results!

- 'Sorry I'm late' becomes 'Thank you for waiting!'
- 'Sorry for taking up so much of your time' becomes 'Thank you for listening and giving me this time'
'Sorry I don't have that ready for you today becomes 'Thank you for your patience with this'

Exciting News! The Female Lead is joining forces with UPFRONT for their groundbreaking international confidence course (Bond 7). If you struggle with over-apologizing or using self-minimizing language, this course is tailor-made for you.

Why are women always portrayed as 'shopaholics' in the media? Have you noticed the difference in how articles about money for women versus men use different language? 🤔

Thank you to Juno for the shocking truth around this!

Joan Marie: “Its crazy to see how far women have come, yet I also see how far we have yet to go.

Women still only make up 28% of the STEM workforce, and only 8% are Hispanic. I know I stand on the shoulder of giants and I am where I am because of women who trailblazer this path for me (Sally Rode, Katherine Johnson, Poppy Northcutt, Ellen O’Choa, and so many more). This is why I feel a responsibility to keep pushing equality forward and ensure we have more #WomenInSTEM

I also want to shout out all the women who dedicated their lives to their children. The point I want to make in this video is women have the right to CHOOSE what makes them happy, not conform to gender norms 🙌🏽💜”

“There are many messages in the film. Obviously, one being you don’t need anyone to save you, you can save yourself. To be self-reliant, to be resilient and independent. I think that’s very important. But to not be afraid of asking for help when you need it. You’re capable of anything and I think Princess Elodie really embodies that”.

Millie Bobby Brown speaks to The Female Lead on the messages in the new film #DAMSEL ⭐

DAMSEL is available to watch on Netflix now.
