🌅 An extra-early start to a special morning!

This morning, Henrik Uustalo and I had the pleasure of reading the day’s headlines live on Terevisioon.

So, what caught our attention? 🧐

Naturally, the topic of cybersecurity.
Once again, there were articles highlighting the extent of cybercriminal activity. 🚹

Cybercrime remains alarmingly active:
🔾 Over €20 million lost to fraud in Estonia this year alone
🔾 Just this Monday: 58 reports of phone and internet scams
🔾 One entrepreneur from Harju County lost €186,000

Information shared by the police and victims reflects how systematic and sophisticated today’s cyber threats are.

I discovered a new big plus to being an entrepreneur 💡

I can be my son’s employer 🙂

While reading the news on Terevisioon this week, I came across a story about how it’s becoming harder for young people to find their first job.

With AI and large language models helping on more tasks, experienced specialists need fewer junior than before.

Even IT internships seem tougher to get. Companies used to snap up students in their first or second year, but that’s no longer the norm.

This weekend, I had my first pro-parent moment when my son Kahrut edited a scam-call video for me 🎬

It took me 30 minutes to guide him, which saved me about two hours ⏱

Next, I’ll teach him how to write phishing emails 😂

With my older daughter it was very clear to her where she wanted to go and what to do to get there, but my son hasn’t yet found his professional passion.

I love that I can offer him both technical and creative tasks. It’s a chance to explore and discover what might truly inspire him.

I believe starting early gives a advantage and I’m
happy that

Starting from this Monday, young people can register to become job shadows under Junioir Achievembt Estonia program.

It’s also a great opportunity to take a step toward discovering their own path.

IT on vahend pÀris probleemide lahendamiseks ja kulude kokkuhoiuks.

Pareto printsiibi kohaselt 80% tulemustest tuleb 20% pingutusega.
Kas meil on ĂŒldse mĂ”istlik ajada taga ĂŒlejÀÀnud 20%? đŸ€”

Teine oluline aspekt on meie kogunenud taak.
IT mĂ”ttes midagi uut nullist ehitada on lihtsam kui vanu sĂŒsteeme ĂŒleval hoida vĂ”i vĂ€lja vahetada.
Polnud kasutajaid, polnud andmeid, polnud legacy-integratsioone, alustasime vÀikselt.
SeetÔttu suutsimegi kunagi kiiresti liikuda.

Samuti tajusime siis tehtud muudatuste efekti toona selgemalt.

VĂ€ikesed organisatsioonid liiguvad kiiremini. SeetĂ”ttu tĂ€rkab innovatsioon startup’ides.
Kahjuks pole meie riiklik IT enam vĂ€ike 🐘.

Artiklis rÔhutati ka kliendile lÀhemale liikumist. Usun, et mÔeldakse Àripoole klienti.
Ja just siin nĂ€en ma meie IT (arendus)juhtimise ĂŒht probleemi.

Puudus on heast tootejuhtimisest.

Mitte backlog’i haldusest ja tarkvara tarnete juhtimisest, vaid Ă€rilisest juhtimisest.
Mida ĂŒldse tasub ehitada?
Kuidas maksimeerida â€œĂ€rilist” vÀÀrtust?
Need on tootejuhtimise vĂ”tmekĂŒsimused.

TĂ”hus tootejuhtimine eeldab tihedat koostööd Ă€ripoole (tootejuht) ja arendusmeeskonna (disainerid, analĂŒĂŒtikud, arendajad) vahel.

Avalikus sektoris on see tĂŒĂŒpiliselt jagatud ministeeriumite/riigiasutuste, riigi IT-majade ja alltöövĂ”tjate vahel.
See ei tundu tÀna mulle efektiivne.

Ma vĂ€ga nĂ”ustun, et riik peaks ehitama vĂ€hem “rĂ€tsepaĂŒlikondi” 👔.
Need on kallid.
Tuleks kasutada rohkem juba olemasolevaid tooteid/teenuseid.

Jah, see vĂ”ib minna vastuollu mĂ”nede IT-arendusettevĂ”tete Ă€rihuvidega, kuid eraettevĂ”tete poolt loodud IT-toodete kasutuselevĂ”tt toetab eksporti ja tugevdab meie majandust 📈

Heade nÀidetena vÔib tuua Smart-ID ja Mobiil-ID.
Mu kunagine pikaajaline tööandja SK ID Solutions pakub seda teenusena Eesti riigile ning riigi kulud selle loomisel ja opereerimisel on vÀiksemad kui vastavad lahendused ise vÀlja töötades.
Samas SK ekspordib antud tooteid ka teistesse riikidesse.

Muidugi vÔib riigi Àriprotsesside tÔttu vaja olla teha neis toodetes mÔnikord kohandusi. Kuid tihti vÔib olla mÔistlikum muuta hoopis Àriprotsessi, mitte toodet.

MĂ”istan, et Ă€riprotsessid riigi puhul on kirjeldatud seadustes ja mÀÀrustes. Aga needki on meie endi tehtud ja neid saab vajadusel muuta, just nagu IT-sĂŒsteeme.

See rÔhutab taas Àrilise tootejuhtimise olulisust, millest juba varem kirjutasin.

Juba ehitatud toodete kasutamine on ĂŒldiselt odavam. Toite pakkuja tegeleb uuendustega ja seotud kulud jagunevad paljude klientide vahel.

See mÔttemalli muutus on mu arvates vÔtmetÀhtsusega ning mul on tore lugeda, et Justiits- ja Digiministeeriumi inimesed nÀivad seda mÔistvat.

Loodame, et see mÔtteviis levib ka teistesse ministeeriumitesse ja IT-majadesse.
