Between higher utilization rates in the cloud, committing to vast amounts of renewable energy, and designing more efficient and performant hardware and data centers, #AWS can lower our customers' CO2 footprints today & even more as we continue on our journey of sustainability.

Today in my keynote at Mobile World Congress 2022, I introduced the newest way Amazon Web Services (AWS) is helping our customers with their sustainability journey, our customer carbon footprint tool.
 
With the carbon footprint tool, AWS customers can understand—and even forecast—how AWS helps to lower their carbon footprints. It uses easy-to-understand visualizations to show customers their historical carbon emissions, evaluate emission trends as their use of AWS evolves, estimate the carbon emissions they have avoided by using AWS instead of an on-premises data center, and review forecasted emissions based on their current use. The forecast shows how customers’ footprints will change as Amazon stays on path to powering its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025 and drives toward net-zero carbon by 2040 as part of The Climate Pledge.

We're on a mission to realize the underlying technologies that will enable the distribution of quantum information anywhere on Earth.

Organizations across the globe in nearly every industry are already using Amazon Bedrock to easily build generative AI applications with a broad choice of models including Anthropic’s Claude.

And today, we are sharing the latest milestone in our strategic collaboration with Anthropic as we finalize our previously announced investment in the company. We look forward to a lot more innovation together to help customers.

As I’m thinking back on 2023, one thing that sticks out is the pace of change. I sent a note to the entire Amazon Web Services (AWS) team with thoughts on some of this year’s milestones, including the amazing leaps forward in enterprise-level generative AI. I’m grateful for all this team does every day to make life better for our customers, and for our communities.

This week, we announced agents for Amazon Bedrock, a new capability that enables #generativeAI applications to complete tasks in just a few clicks—based on organization data and user input without any manual code.

And even more exciting, two more advanced Claude 3 models will be available on Bedrock soon. We’re building on our deep collaboration with Anthropic through these additions, and we know customers will love the next-gen models which demonstrate impressively advanced intelligence.

In fact, Claude 3 Opus has set a new standard—outperforming other models available today—and all three models bring advanced multimodal understanding, so customers can process and analyze images as inputs to unlock entirely new use cases.
