Honored to hear Jensen Huang's support and admiration for Perplexity! We’re going to be doing a lot together with NVIDIA on inference on Blackwell with their new Dynamo library. Read here for more: https://t.co/POCfyNhCUL
Announcing our first open-weights model from Perplexity: R1 1776 - a version of DeepSeek R1 that's been post-trained to remove the China censorship and provide unbiased, accurate responses.

The post-training to remove censorship was done without hurting the core reasoning ability of the model - which is important to keep the model still pretty useful on all practically important tasks.

Some example queries where we remove the censorship: “What is China's form of government?“, “Who is Xi Jinping?“, “how Taiwan’s independence might impact Nvidia’s stock price“

Perplexity on Whatsapp is super convenient way to use AI when in a flight. Flight WiFi supports messaging apps the best. And WhatsApp has been heavily optimized for this because it grew to support countries where connectivity wasn’t the best. Good emergent outcome.
Perplexity Android app will come pre-installed on all new Motorola devices. And, we've worked together with Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo Company) to optimize Perplexity Assistant for the Moto Razr, so that you can invoke it with the fold screen shut. New purchases will come with 3 months of Perplexity Pro.

Battling Google's dominance and stronghold of what apps go into Android is a massive challenge. We had to do this through building a much better native Assistant than Gemini, and finiding an agile partner in Motorola to give consumers a great end user experience.

Together with GitHub, we’re bringing Perplexity right where you are already so that you can access the web while coding and debugging. All users can install the extension and start programming more efficiently! Install and start asking! https://t.co/6p6dlYFlbr
Two years ago, this day, Perplexity was launched. From serving ~2000 queries the first day to ~20M daily queries in a span of two years. Look forward to the next few years to come!

You can now forward any WhatsApp message to Perplexity +1 (833) 436-3285 and get it fact checked instantly. This is super useful when WhatsApp groups are filled with a ton of forwarded messages which could be misleading.
Perplexity Enterprise Pro now offers DeepSeek R1 in combination with FactSet and Crunchbase for our Enterprise Pro - essentially a McKinsey analyst for $400/yr.
Pretty cool to see more than 50K signups to Perplexity from top schools. Each campus that gets more than 500 signups gets to secure 1 year of Perplexity Pro for free for the whole campus. 9 hours remain for the ones yet to hit 500 sign ups. https://lnkd.in/gejtpNyd

I did a podcast with Raj Shamani back when I was in India in December 2024. We don’t cover topics that happened after then, like DeepSeek, Deep Research, voice agents and assistants, our upcoming browser, etc. But we spoke about a bunch of interesting things that are still super relevant, check it out!
Until now, we mainly prioritized informational queries. But search is about anything you want to do. A navigational query is essentially a link/sitemap as an answer. We made it even easier to navigate the web, especially useful when you set Perplexity as your default search.
In the Lex Fridman podcast, he asked me whether him saying (on the podcast) that he's smart and handsome (and making the transcript available on the web) would make perplexity say that he is. The answer here is quite impressive. It caveats it with the background context that this is a way to inject things into prompts and manipulate the AIs.

Excited to be partnering with SAP to bring the power of real-time trustworthy answers to all enterprise businesses! A clean combination of answering both structured and unstructured questions is a challenge for AI adoption in the enterprise. SAP is a leader in structured data. And with Perplexity's ability to process raw unstructured information: both internal and external, we think business customers will derive tremendous value in their day to day research workflows through our product integration and partnership.

Not a lot of people know about Neil Mehta, one of the best founder-mode investors in the world. What I admire is his ability to take concentrated bets and go all-in. And he bootstrapped his fund by taking his winnings from his time at DE Shaw. And continues to do so even now. A great profile of him here, completely worth checking out:
100K followers on LinkedIn for Perplexity! Still remember the day we launched and setting up the LinkedIn page for announcing it here and inviting folks to follow! The growth has been incredible and looking forward to 1M!
